Your POV
I stayed up almost all night, so I slept in almost until noon today. I woke up due to my phone going off. I reached to my nightstand and grabbed my phone to see who would be calling me. It was my mom calling me. I quickly answered knowing that if I didn't, I wouldn't hear the end of it.

"Hello, this is (l/n) DJ service. How can I help you?" I answered in a teasing tone.

"Very funny sweetie." My mom chuckled. "How's New York treating you?"

"Very good. I have a very successful job meaning that I can stay here. So that's good. How's the other coast?"

"Oh it's nice. San Francisco misses you ya know!" My mom teased. I laughed a little.

"Nah, it was happy to get rid of me! The neighbors were so glad and you know it." My mom laughed at my statement. "So why'd ya call?"

"I just wanted to check on my baby and know when you're planning on coming home!"

"Well, I'm probably won't be able to come over for the Fourth of July, but I think if I'm clear, I can come over for Labor Day or Thanksgiving. Here gimme a sec..." I crawled out of bed, opened the curtains, and walked over to my calendar by the bedroom door. It was stuffed with appointments, job locations and times, when I had to pay rent, trips to the gym that I would eventually go to, and a lot more. It was pretty full. I continued to flip through the pages and saw I had a week off in September and November.

"What's that noise?" My mom asked. She could probably hear me flipping through the pages of the calendar.

"Just my calendar and planner. It's almost completely booked solid." I walked back over to the bed and fell backwards on to it. "I do have the week of Thanksgiving free and a week in September, but it isn't Labor Day. I have a few parties to go to and perform at."

"Well, Thanksgiving will be fine! As long as we can see you!"

"Awesome! I'm glad that works out! Can't wait to see everyone! How's dad doing?"

"Well..." Her voice trailed off slightly. "He's gotten a little better, but not much." My heart broke a little hearing that and I felt tears threatening. My dad got a huge stroke recently after being in a car accident. He was lucky to even be alive, but he does have more problems than he used to and is forced to stay in the hospital. I quickly wiped them away and resumed talking to my mom.

"Keep me posted. Tell him I said hi." My voice was a little dim... Even for me.

"I will. So," my mother brightened her tone, "have you met anyone over there?"

"Yeah, I have. He's really cool. Maybe I can bring him over on Thanksgiving or something?"

"Sure sweetie! Bring him over! Who is he?"

"His name is Mason Wells. He's a musician and planning on starting a band soon!"

"You and your taste for music!" My mom squealed. "I'm glad you found someone that makes you happy!"

"Thanks mom." I blushed a little. "Well, I gotta wake up and go to the store today."

"Okay. You have a good day honey!"

"You too. Love you."

"Love you too!"

"Bye."

"Bye sweetie!" She hung up and I put my phone down. I got out of the very comfortable bed that I could stay in forever and took a shower. After my shower, I got dressed in a white, lose tank top with music notes on it, black jeans, black and white sneakers, and a black leather jacket. I was in a black and white mood today. I grabbed my sunglasses, phone, wallet, and headphones. I made my way to my door and went out.
