Chapter 14 (Part 1)

Eren's POV
"Yes, I would love to go get dinner tonight." I could feel an overwhelming sense of joy flood over me. She actually said yes!? And she would love to!? Any fear or worry that I originally felt just disappeared. I couldn't believe it!

"Y-You would?" I stupidly asked as I continued to help her go up the stairs.

"Yeah! I would love to!" (Y/n) giggled. A small blush crossed her soft cheeks and a smile graced her lips.

"Great! Where would you like to go?"

"I thought you were going to pick where we were eating. You asked me in the first place!"

"Oh, well I didn't think I'd get this far." I rubbed the back of my neck and (y/n) burst into laughter.

"Well," she said in between breaths, "I don't care. It doesn't have to be fancy or anything. Anything works for me."

"You sure you don't have any place that you really want to go to?"

"I'll eat just about anything." She chuckled. I couldn't help but laugh along with her. We both just continued to talk as we climbed the stairs slowly. When we reached our floor level, I gave her back her crutches and we continued down the hallway. She arrived at her room first, instructing me to bring out the new equipment so she can get used to it. I did as she asked and I went back to my room.

I laid down in the couch feeling overwhelming happiness and joy. I felt like I could do anything. I felt like I could soar through the sky or even walk on water. I thought about what we would do for our date tonight and everything that could happen. It seemed like it was going to be one of the best days of my life, and I was absolutely ready for it!

My phone began to vibrate. I pulled it out of my back pocket and saw that Armin had tried texting me a few times.

Armin: Hey Eren! It's been a while!
Armin: How's life on the other coast?

I unlocked my phone and began a conversation with Armin.

Armin

Armin: Hey Eren! It's been a while!
Armin: How's life on the other coast?

Eren: It's been good. You'll NEVER guess what just happened to me!

Armin: What??

Eren: Guess!

Armin: Come on... Don't be that guy... Seriously dude...

Eren: I got a girlfriend!

Armin: WOW! I never thought that would happen! XD

I stopped texting him after that. I wasn't going to deal with his terrible girlfriend jokes. If I'm not mistaken, he and I made a bet a while back seeing who would get a girlfriend first. I think it's time to collect on that... Soon.

I hopped off of the couch and began to look up different relatively nice restaurants in the area. I know she said it didn't matter where and that it didn't have to be fancy, but this was my first date with someone, I want the most out of it.

As I searched, I couldn't help but feel slightly nervous about this. It was my first date after all, so what am I supposed to do?

I found a rather nice restaurant a few miles away from Central Park. Not too fancy, but not too simple. Just right. I still have time... Too much of it. I guess I should probably stop by at around six? That should be good. Now what to do for the next four hours?
