Lucy's POV
They Turned off the lights in the room and we started to hear the beat go up.
Me and Natsu just walked into a corner so nobody can see or judge our bad dancing.
This Might be the best night ever. Everyone has someone to dance with Erza is dancing her feet off with Millianna and they are in the center of a dance circle.
Everytime I look at Natsu he's staring at Abigail.
I cannot take it anymore it's eating me alive. I knew I shouldn't have trusted him when he told me the cancelation was a mutual disicion. He liked her since the eighth grade and she liked him since the sixth but sadly, so have other girls. Now that they finally got the guts I got in the way.
" I'm gonna go get some drinks." He says trying to speak over the loud music.
" don't ..." I say barely hearing myself.
Two words. Cana Alberona. She replaced the punch with alcohol. Everyone knows because she posted it on the school website but it was in code.
Ok not really. She just said
' There'll be punch in the punch bowl'
And we all knew what she meant. She even said anyone who drinks it will be doing it intentionally and she takes no credit whatsoever.
I'm pretty sure I bothered Natsu about it.
Who cares let's just let the night fool us.
I quickly sneak up behind Abigail and try to tell her it was my fault Natsu canceled on her.
And I see her all pampered up. I cannot believe he gave up the cheer squad captain for me.
I walk up behind her and I here Natsu's name come out of one of the girl's mouth.
Are they putting down Natsu?
I lean in close and listen to their conversation.
Irrelevant Girl A: "No you didn't"
Irrelevant Girl B: " you turned down The Natsu? " she says hysterically
Abigail: * chuckles and nods her head viciously*
" I told him ... that trash... get this... can only... attract other trash." She then bursts into laughter.
All the girls around her laugh and giggle. Until I see someone standing close behind me.
"Lucy... the drinks..." Natsu says, mortified
It's all my fault. If I hadn't gone looking for her he wouldn't have came after me. He wouldn't have heard those words coming from the girl he loved.
" Look....." Abigail screams everyone in earshot distance turns around.
" Lucy the trash! ..." she then turns to Natsu and her smile fades as she looks like she'll cry any minute..
"And .... what do we have here? Lucy the trash can. See girls only trash can handle trash. That's why these two are BEST FRIENDS" she starts finger quoting with one hand.
Is she too fancy to use her other hand?
I then clench my fists in anger as I run up to her and slap her in the face.
"You stick you dirty words where the sun doesn't shine" now I am pissed
Then I start throwing punches at her and just when I'm about to drop kick her something.. no someone grabs my shoulders.
She then throws two punches to my eye and my mouth.
And then I start to ruffle and as soon as I get loose I start running towards her.
Then natsu grabs me by the waist.
" Lucy, stop." He says panting really hard.
I stare at the fool once more and that's when I realize the cup of "punch" in her other hand.
The room is dead silent as everyone rushes to Abigail. I turn to see a security officer jogging towards us. He then pulls me and natsu out the door and we hear the music slowly come back on.
" Since it's your prom, I'll let you go-"
"Or else what?" I say in unison with Natsu who I forgot was there.
"Look guys... I saw what happened in there... she was being such a bi-"
"We were there." We say in unison
"Well you're not allowed to step on this premises again for the whole night or else we will have no choice but to call the cops." He says in a dead serious tone.
He then turns around and walks back in, shutting the steel door.
Natsu and I just stand there In silence.
I cannot believe this. we really just got kicked out of our own prom.
Natsu's face is blank. He's probably in such shock of the whole situation.
" Lucy.. you should probably..."
"I don't regret my actions. So I'm not going to apologize. She deserved it... all." I say panting.
"Don't worry..." he says reassuringly
"After I picked up our punches, I went to go check on her and accidentally over heard, thanks Luce"
"Natsu... she had the 'punch' so she was wasted and hurt. She probably didn't mean all that stuff." I said calmly
"Lucy remember what Cana said? Alcohol doesn't make you lie. It makes you embrace the ugly truth." He says sounding a little sad.
And with that I just walked towards my car. Its a good thing I was too late to take the Strauss limo. I can't wait for it after the party because everyone else is inside and there's three more hours to wait anyways and Mira will kill me then Natsu after what just happened to her best friend.
"You're not going to drive are you?"
"Why are you following me?" I reply
"You can't drive after throwing those sick punches can you?" He says swinging and punching the air.
"Shut up" I say laughing.
Just when I am about to open my car door I remember that I left the keys in my purse which is also inside the building.
He goes behind the car and a long minute later comes back next to me.
I can't let natsu know I messed up again. I also don't know where my phone is. We sit there for about six quiet minutes when natsu says
"Are you going to open the doors or are we waiting for your car to fly first, then we hop in?"
"Natsu.... I left my purse in the freaking building." I finally admit.
"And? you need to match with your car or something?"
"Natsu stop fu-"
"I texted gajeel he says he'll be out in ten minutes " he says cutting me off.
"Ok when did you figure it out?"
I say smirking.
"Why would someone get in a fight then gaze at the empty sky? Exactly, they wouldn't... at least not my Luce."
" Good job sherlock. And since you're driving... mind telling me where to?"
"My parents vacation house." He says as worry fill my eyes.
"What the hell natsu? If they find out where we are going they will find a way to come along. I really don't want to be with them without adult suspervision." I say giggling
"Too late. " Natsu says staring at two figures walking.. no running towards us.
Crap. Crap. "Let's run." I'm not even joking.
"Are you stupid they have your keys and your phone. "
I guess he's right..
There's only one way to settle this.
