Lucy's POV

"Are you okay? " I hovered over Natsu's hospital bed.

"Yeah, nothing serious, I'm fine." He sat up.

I looked at him smiled. I looked up at Lisanna who was violently pointing her figure towards the door. I followed her out and she closed the door.

"Lucy. Can you please stay away from Natsu for a while?"

I stared at her blankly and processed my thoughts. "What do you mean?"

"Happy told me what happened. I get it, you were once childhood best friends but that doesn't and shouldn't exist in the real world."

I took a few seconds and calmly asked,"Why the hell not?"

She rolled up her sleeve and I prepared myself for a rant." I don't hate you Lucy, its Natsu who'll mostly benefit."

She took a deep breath and started at it again. " who plays tag in the streets? Why are you wearing his jacket when its almost 0° degrees out there? You have him so worried about you, he doesn't even care that he almost died. So, are you going to let him continue suffering so that you can relive your childhood?

You two need a professional relationship as adults and move on from you childhood. Therefore, no one gets hurt and nobody has to leave their premed class to come to this. As his girlfriend, I was sick and worried and you get to make it a joke?" She circled her fingers around me.

"Who do you think you are? Just cu-
Juvia screamed then looked at me hopelessly.

"She's right. Such childish things  shouldn't even happen." I gave her a broken smile.

"C'mon, girl. Let's go with Levy to her apartment, she could probably cheer you up." She pulled me by the arm.

We stayed at Levy's house the whole day. We caught up and filled each other in on our lives and adventures.
We ended up staying the night and  having a huge sleep over.

I needed some time away from Natsu and this is exactly how. . . I can show Lisanna up. I know I can. And I will.

~next day~

" Happy called." Levy said on her way to the kitchen.

"Oh thanks. I'll call back later." I turned on the TV. "Lucy, look at you, you're a mess." Levy stared at me.

" I just put this on yesterday. " I sniffed my T-shirt. It smelled like dusty attic.

"Lucy, make all the bets you want with Lisanna but think about how it's affecting Natsu. " I tried to ignore her but she blocked my view.

" Did you ever think about how Natsu felt when you left for Two years? "

She sighed and continued.

"He stopped hanging out with the guys and took in Happy. Because he reminded him of you. When you didn't come back as planned, he gave up all hope. He couldn't drop everything to go look for you And he accepted that you might not even return. Lisanna helped him move on, and he's grateful but he wanted you."
Tears were steaming down her face.

" You guys have been friends for long enough and everyone sees it but you two. A love so strong...." She mumbled and walked away.

Wow. They tell me to stay away then they tell me to go back.

I stood up and grabbed my Jacket. Levy is right. I had to settle things between us once a for all.

I opened the apartment door and I quickly showered and changed. I sat on a couch thinking of a plan to sort out my life.

I got a text and almost immediately checked it.

I got a message from sting reading:

*Hey, I'm still in town, wanna hang out?

- Sting **

I had an epiphany. What if I showed Natsu that I didn't need him? Then he could move on with Lisanna... I knew my new plan was wrong but I needed closure. I don't want to hurt Natsu or play with his feelings.
