CHAPTER 2

Raghav walked up to the dining table and asked the maid for a hot cup of tea.......... " daddy ,daddy.....look what i made for you in class today''
a beautiful child ran up to him........Raghav put his cup down and simply carried the child ,high up in the air and twirled her" what is it my princess...? ,i bet it is something very special.........daddy can hardly wait to see. your creation ..." replied Raghav ,the tension was gone....he could only see his child......his daughter.. Sanjana......a bright ,intelligent ,bubbly 7 year old........
" daddy, first you need to close your eyes.".........she said in a whisper...... Raghav immediately covered his eyes and waited till his little doll touched his hand ''Daddy you can see now "............ Raghav saw a large drawing paper with lots of drawing....there was a man .....above his head was written Daddy........a little child in the middle.....which read daddy's doll.......another drawing was of a woman.......'mummy in heaven ''it read'... Raghav felt a sudden sadness when he saw the drawing,......but he controlled himself...and smilled'"......this is the most beautiful drawing i have ever seen....and for that i have a gift for you......'' oh daddy....i love you so much... '"..Sanjana put both her small hands around Raghav and kissed him'' her small fingers opened the gift slowly,.and carefully.......in order no to tear the wrapper....Raghav was awed.. Sanjana was exactly like her mother......she possessed her mother's gentleness and beauty..........." Oh my ! oh my daddy..!..a train set .. Sanjana cried in excitement but stopped suddenly when she saw her grandmother Mrs rubina walk in........." hi grandma'' Sanjana said politely.....Rubina took one look at the child and smilled...... Raghav was seated on the floor fixing the train tracks.....a little later he set the train engine and coaches on the track and switched it on.......the train moved in circles........around the track, Sanjana was delighted and sat in her daddy's lap and clapped her hands....with joy...... Raghav hugged his child and rocked her back and forth.....Raghav stayed with Sanjana for a long time ...playing with her and listening to her school tales......... Raghav became melancholic once again.....thinking of his late wife Deepti........" daddy, ''The child's voice brought Raghav back to the present "we have a new boy in class and he tried to bully me'' Sanjana looked so serious that Raghav touched her head,''what did you do''..?........he asked........" i told him to stay away from me or i will kick him so hard and report him to the teacher'' replied Sanjana....'' i also told him my daddy will go to school and scold him''....Raghav once again carried little Sanjana in his arms ""That's my girl".....come on we need to get dinner...then off you go to sleep''.....said Raghav and called for the nanny to get Sanjana ready...........

the pain will always be there,,,Raghav wished he could turn back the clock to be with her.....he wished .....but she was gone forever.......after bearing their child,.......Sanjana had grown without her mothe'rs love and not once has she asked about her mother,,all she knew was her mother had gone to heaven....and she was watching over her.....
Raghav went downstairs to the dining table where his mother was already seated....Sanjana beside her...........Rubina glanced at her watch and looked at the empty chair beside Raghav.......''Oh for heavens sake where is Sunil''Mrs Rubina lamented.......and just then Sunil .arrived in a rush and sat beside Raghav.his elder brother..."..Hi Bro ,how was your day'' ? he simply asked ignoring their mother's irritation for arriving late at the dinner table....'' we will talk about this later......Sunil.....you have an assignment....."....replied Raghav ,Sunil gave Raghav a bored look......he kept thinking of the leggy beauty he had met at the bar earlier.....she was hot,........Sunil toyed with his food and deserved a kick from Raghav from under the dinning table.......Sanjana caught her daddy in the act and she began to laugh..but Raghav gestured with his eyes to her no to,...as it would be rude to do so .......Sanjana knew her uncle Sunil was a naughty boy.....so she ate her food quietly.........later when Raghav tucked little Sanjana in bed she told her daddy' "mummy will be watching over me '" good night mummy , good night daddy ' i love you both..'' Sanjana said loudly .....Raghav felt a lump in his throat ,he kissed his daughter good night and closed the door behind him..................to be continued......Evelyn
