CHAPTER  15

FLASHBACK

Kalpana saw her mother in law's face turn red in anger...and  she  slowly  covered it with a smile

'"so  you say  the  police are on to Sureka..."....Rubina  wanted to know......''.Yes  . mother,,....i am glad i have saved my  Kalpana  from the evil hands,."'........."Come  kalpana  ".. Raghav  held kalpana's  hand and walked to  where his  mother was standing.......Raghav and  kalpana touched  Rubina's  feet  for  blessings...
Mother   you can arrange  for  the  wedding  reception.....tonight''........Raghav  announced  and  still holding  Kalpana's  hand    went  up  the  stairs........" Kalpana  is  legally  my  wife....we  have   registered  our  marriage in front  of the  registar  of  marriages.......John  Prakash......he  was  here  a short  while  ago,.....so  i am personally  moving  Kalpana's belonging to  my  room.....i  will  be  down  a  little  later  mother'' 
Rubina stood  in silence.......her  head  was  pounding   .she  knew  her  blood  pressure  was  surging  .......she   made  her  way  to  her room slowly....and  lay  on  her  bed....and  closed  her  eyes...........she  summoned  a  maid  to  bring  her  a glass of  water  and  ordered  her  to   get the doctor...
Raghav  carried  kalpana  to  his  room..........and    kicked the door shut  behind him......he  gently   made her sit on his  large  bed......kalpana who had never been to  Raghav's  room  ........looked  around  it  now,.....it was  exactly  how  she  had imgined it to be....the  bed  was  huge  with   checked  bedsheets,,,,,,,the  curtains  matched   the  bedsheets.......the  room was   cool and  nice.....fully airconditioned   ..unlike  her  little  flats.....with   standing  and  ceiling  fans.......'' Do  you  like  our  room  Kalpana''? Asked Raghav   Removing  the  outer  layer of  his  wedding   outfit......and  pulled on  a  T-shirt......and  sat  on  the  bed  beside  Kalpana'......lifting  the cushion  he  had stolen from her  some time  back''My cushion'...exclaimed  kalpana  gleefully...then she stopped  as her  eyes went to the wall  ....a  potrait of her face  illuminated  by  birthday candles  hung on the wall......it  was  so  huge.....''Kalpana   got out of bed and  touched it while Raghav held her from behind..holding her tiny waist.
"Kalpana Deepi Tejwani Gupta''...my  darling  wife...i  am  the  happiest  man  on  earth.....we  got  married  earlier  than  the  actuall date.....mother  is  really upset  so  for  our wedding  night....we  make  sure  we  follow  her   wishes....''
Oh  Yes..i was  about  to  suggest  this  to  you,,,,i am  so  happy   Raghav......Kalpana  turned and  hugged  Raghav and  kissed him on  his  cheeks.
"this  is  the  first  time  you have  kissed me  on  your  own....i  like  that....but  later  you have to kiss me  on the  lips......'' Raghav teased
while  kalpana  blushed.......Raghav  helped  kalpana  change  her  wedding  garments  to  cotton   Tshirt and  shorts....and  made  her  go to sleep  .....
Raghav   then  went to his mother's  room......Dr  Chandran  was  examining  her...."'Ah  Raghav"......your  mother needs  a lot  of  rest....her  pressure  has  shot  up....though  not  critically.....she  needs  plenty of  rest.........make  sure  she  gets  it   and   she  has  to  take  her tablets  regularly....."
Raghav  walked Dr Chandran out  ......and  shook  hands  with  him.....then  went  back to  his  mother
"you  heard  what  the  doctor  said...Mother....i want  you  to  just  go to  sleep....i will  make  the  dinner  arrangements.....just  relax"
"Raghav..,,    ..Kalpana....Rubina  began.....''' she  is  asleep mother,..all the  anxiety   of  her   recent  experience....has deprived her of her peace of  mind  and  complete  rest,,,..... i want   my  mother and  wife  to  rest  well......" Raghav  kissed his  mother on her fore head  and  left  the  rooms......after  insisting   a nurse  and  maid  remain  in the room...
Raghav  watched  Kalpana  sleep....she was  so  beautiful......a lock  of  her  hair  fell on her face.....Raghav reached out and  with feather light fingers  pushed the lock of hair.....she  mumbled...." i  love  you  Raghav..." then  she  stretched out  her  slender  legs  ....touching  his  in the process....her  eyes  fluttered  open  ....Raghav's  head  came  down  to hers  and  he  claimed her lips   for a long...lingering  intoxcicating  kiss.......Kalpana  wound  her  arms  around  his  neck  .....and  began  kissing  him  back......''My  God   Kalpana....you are driving me crazy.....who  taught you to kiss like  that.? ..... growled Raghav.....he  kissed her  neck,    ........."I have  a good  teacher  giving me lessons  in  love...,,,Giggled  kalpana  and  then she  pushed him away,,.....and  shot  out  of  bed.........."i want to go and see mother...."
'' she  is  resting...Kalpana......we will  see mother  tonight  at  the reception...........Raghav informed  and  requested the  maids to send  food  to his room.. for  him and  kalpana''
The  maids  placed the  food  on  the  table  by the window''Enjoy  your  food   sir  ....maam.........kalpana smilled  at  them.....while  Raghav  opened  the  windows  for  some  fresh  air......''Maam  you are  so  beautiful.....and   gentle  and  polite.....god  bless  you and  sir  ...."'one of the  maids  complimented.....
Raghav took a spoonful of  lenthil rice and fed kalpana....she  cried  as she recalled  her  late  father  ''my  dad  used to  make me eat  my food  like the way you are  doing  Raghav,,i  miss  my dad  so  much......but  with you by my side always   i know i will not feel like that anymore..
Raghav  wiped her tears away......and  finished  feeding  the rest of the food  while  he too ate............they  finished the  whole  pot
of hot  honey lemon with relish.......
Raghav helped Kalpana  hang  her  dresess...suits  and  jeans  and  T-shirt.....in his  wardrobe......her  croochet  collection.....her   little  glass figurines...
"Raghav  "  is  Sureka really trying to kill me"? .............Raghav  stopped  whatever he was doing and  pulled Kalpana  into his  arms  ''No one can can take you away from me  as long as i live...i made  a wov..and promised    as we circled the sacred  fire,to love ...care  and  protect you always....
Kalpana   hugged  Raghav,,close to her....he  will protect her with his life...........she  knew  this  fact ,Raghav was truly god sent for her,
she loved him deeply  ......
The  entire house was filled with lots  of  flowers  ........and  lights..and  musicians   were playing live  music.....the  guests  began arriving
all dressed in their  best........even the maids were allowed to wear  their  best  outfits........
Kalpana  was trying to pull the zipper of her suit....Raghav helped her..but  not before  kissing her  bare shoulder.........kalpana  felt a warm  feeling on her stomach....Raghav laughed  and  left  her  when a beautician arrived  to  adorn Kalpana....
Inspector  Sham......was in  a smart suit.......he  had  information  for  Raghav
"we  have  arrested  Sureka  Patel.....she  denied  that she was inolved..but remained   silent  when we produced  her  hospital id card..found  at the scene of  the  crime........she  probably forgot  she had it  on....plus   we  also  found she had transfered  a  large amount of cash  to  one of  the  men  hired  to  kill   your  wife.....we  have  also arrested  the  delivery  boy  from Bharath Boutique.....he  confessed  he  pushed  Kalpana  on  purpose  to  make  her  fall on the stairs  and break her neck......and  Sureka  had  assigned  him to do so......Sureka Patel  would  have  gone scot free.....thanks  to  your  sharp observance....her  reflection was on the glass door....we  overlooked  it..........Inspector  Sham....mentioned..........Raghav  thanked  him and  quickly  went to  his  mother  as she  slowy  made her way downstairs with the nurse  beside  her.....The   healthy colour  had returned to her face  and Rubina  looked impeccable......in her red  suit.....she  smiled at everyone..  ...her  business associates   congratulated  her  and  complimented on the wedding decorations....for   Raghav and his  bride''
"Mother..you  look   great... Raghav...hugged  her.......".Sunil  should  be  here....".....i will call him.....what  exam is more important than his brother's  wedding?
i have  already spoken to him..Raghav..he  is really  tied  with his  exams...and  he  has been sent  to  Austria  for  six  months......you know  how  all these  assignments  are  to  a collge student,,next  he  will be  enrolling  for  university   achievements......do  you  want him  to  throw away  everthing.....and  come  here................. to be  continued...................Evelyn.........
