CHAPTER  40

Kalpana  held  her  child  in  her  arms.........tears  flowing..........time  to  make  up  for  all the  lost  years.........Sanjana  was  overly  excited  .....her  mummy  was  showering  her  with  so  much  love....and  she  loved  this  complete  attention   ...Raghav  stood  by  the  bed  and  touched  Kalpana.s  head....and  he  stroked  her  cheek..........the  lump  in  his  throat  began  to  ebb......Kalpana  was  back   where  she  belonged....in  his  arms.........    mother  and  daughter  were   still   hugging    each  other.......kalpana  refused  to  let  go  of  her  child..........and  the  tears  flowed.....Raghav  hugged  her  and  little  Sanjana............there were  no words  but  only  emotions...........for  a long  time...the  little  family   remained    close  to  each  other........''Raghav  sir.....'' a gentle  voice    said''...kalpana  looked  up  and  recognised   Krish  ......the  familiy  chauffer..she   smiled  through  her  tears........Krish   held  his  bandaged  head  and  walked  slowly  to  his  madam,,,,and  with  Raghav's  consent  hugged  Kalpana.....'Glad  to  have  you  back  madam...........Krish   said   and  brushed   his  tears........so  much  had  happened   ,,so  much  sorrow  and  pain  and  heartache........destiny  had  brought   his  master  and  his  wife  and  chlid  together........Thank  kali ma.......krish    thought  in  his  heart.............The  doctor  arrived  shortly  and   discharged  kalpana  ......but  advised  her  to  rest  well.and  not  to  worry  about  anything,,,,,,,,Sanjana   was  dancing  for  joy,.......'mummy  is  going  home.;  ...yey......' mummy  is  going  home........she   was  so  happy  then  she  stopped  and   ran  to     Raghav  and  hid  behind  him..........Raghav  followed  her  aggitated  look and   saw  Sunil....standing  at  the  door,.........
he  walked  up  to  Kalpana .....and    held her  hands  ..."' please  forgive  me  bhabi........i  have  behaved  very  badly  towards..you  and  sanju,,,,, Sunil  suddenly  dropped  on  his  knees  ,,
Kalpana   .......shook  her  head.....''i  forgive  you  sunil........''  i  did  not  who  i  was  until ..three days  ago........when   i  saw  my  own  potrait   in  Raghav's  room........evertyhing  came  rushing  forth,and  you  just  dragged  me away  before  i  could  explain  to  you......still.......you  came  to  know  the  truth  about  me.............everyone  makes   mistakes...........you will  find  the  love  of  your  life  soon............i  forgive  you  with  all my  heart,,Sunil.......
Sunil  walked  to  Raghav  and  hugged...him  and  knelt  beside  him  and   looked  at  Sanjana...'''Forgive  me  sweetie......i  know  i was  bad  .but  i  promise  i  will  be  the  best  uncle  in  the  world   ..........Sanjana  who  was  clinging  to  her  daddy.....slowly....peeped  and  gave  her  small  hands  to  Sunil..who  kissed  it.....and  gently  wiped  her  tears...
Sunil  turned  to  Krish......and  wih  deep  remorse.....hugged  him......"'...i  was a  monster.........can  you  forgive  me.....'Sunil  begged ......Krish  touched  Sunil's  shoulder  lightly.....''Just   forget  all  that    has  happened................
an  hour  later  ..Ragahv  left  the  hospital  with  kalpana  and   sanjana....while  krish  and  Sunil   was  not  allowed  to  go  home  yet
back  home..kalpana  touched   all  the  things  she  had  so  loved....the  house  remained   the  same  ,,as  it   had  been  eight  years  ago..........kalpna   stopped  suddenly  at  the  huge  life  size  potrait  of  Rubina.........'''how  could  a  mother  be  so  evil......,,shuddered   Kalpana.......Raghva  sensed  her  apprehension  and  got  a male  servant  to  remove  his  mother's  potrait...............the  soft  eyes  had   camouflaged   evil......
Kalpana  fingered  the  glass figurines.......while  sanjana  was   running  wild    ..........trying  to  tell    and  show her  mummy  everything in  one  go
Listen  pumpkin...;;let  mummy  rest  and  you  need to  sleep...too....................Raghav   led  kalpana  and  sanjana  to  his  room.........
kalpana  showered    and    don   clean   clothes.............and  sat  on  the  bed........Raghav  sat  beside  her  and  cleaned the   bruises  .on  Kalpana's  arm.caused  by  sunil...........his  gentle  touch  ingited  kalpana's  senses..she  began  to  relax  in  the  warmth..........their  eyes  met   .........raghav  leaned  forward  and  kissed  kalpana's   cheek........and  pushed  her  back  on  the  soft  fluffy   pillows  and  pulled  the   fleece  blanket  over  her....
" sleep   .....kalpana  Depti  Tejwani  Gupta.........'''you  need  complete  rest....''  kalpana  smilled...and  minutes  later..Sanjana   joined  her  mummy  under  the  blanket................mother  and  daughter..slept..while  Raghav  sat  by  the  bed  and  watched  over  them...............he  needed  to   talk  to  the  officer  who  had  arrested  Rubina......but   it  had  to  wait.......kalpana  , sanjana ..and  sunil   was  his  main concern..........legals  matters   needed  his  immediate  attention......kalpana  was  alive.........Raghav  had  decided  not  to  press charges  on  kalpana's  guardian  who  had   taken  care of  kalpana  with  their  own  demised  dauhter;'.s  name........Reshma...............Raghav   sat  watching  Kalpana  and  sanjana  sleeping.......sanjana   looked  so  much  like  her  mother..........
back  in  the  hosptal.......the  police  took  another statement  from  Krish  who   refused  to    point  his  finger  on  Sunil........krish  just  wanted  to   give  a chance  to   Sunil to   change  his  bad ways  and  be  a  new  person..............krish   informed  his  brother  to  send  sanjana's  dog  chester  back  to  the house........
while  back  in  the  prison  cell........the  lady  constables.......had  a  tough  time  trying  to  get  the  female   prisoner  to  eat.........I  am  Rubina  Gupta.....''the  prisoner  shouted  and  hurled  the  plate  of  food  to  the  wall......her  eyes  wild  with  anger.........then in a  second  her  face  changed  as  she  started  laughing ...then  she  began  to  whimper.....then   talked  loudly..........
''we  need  to  inform  Raghav  Gupta  about  his  mother............the inspector   recorded  down  everything  the   doctor  had  informed.....Rubina  was  not  in  her  sound, mind..............she  needed   immediate    medcal  attention........
Raghav  spoke  to  the  inspector  and   informed  that  he  will  be  present   at  the  police...station  to  determine   the  kind  of  medication  Rubina  needed.................
Raghav  ordered  hot  soup  for  kalpana  and  sanjana.....after  they  both  woke  up  feeling  refreshed..  energized....and  hungry......
Raghav  could  not    take  his  eyes  off  kalpana  as  she  came  downstairs,,,,,,wearing  a  red  suit.......hair  let  loose  over  her  shouldres...her  right  hand   entwined    with  her  little  girl's  hand......sanjana  was  glowing  in  her  mother's   profound  love......Raghav  felt  showered   with   ultimate  blessing  from  godess  kali  ma...........he  reached  for  kalpana' s  hand  as  she  reachd  the  dining  table...''come  kalpana''   i  have  something  for  you..
kalpana  smiled.....her  love  for  Raghav  over flowing..............Raghav  gently  pushed  her  hair  aside  and  put  on  a  chain.....around  her  neck......kalpana  cried   ,,it  was  the  same   gold  chain   with  the  swan pendant  which  had  belonged  to  Raghv's  grandmother........the  simple  chain and  pendant  was   Kalpana.s  choice  on   her  engagement  years  ago...............seeing  her  tears...Raghav  lifted  kalpana's  head  and  kissed  her.....'''Sanjana  cleared  her  throat..''  save  some  kissess  for  me  daddy......''......then  sanjana   Ran  up  to  her  mummy  and  daddy   and  hugged  them  both..........
