CHAPTER 14

FLASHBACK

Raghav  sat for a long time  thinking about all the mishaps that had fallen on Kalpana, someone out there  simply did not want her in his  life....Raghav  needed to act fast to nail the culprit behind the  evil deeds....he  made his  plans carefully.....Kalpana   was  safe  as long as she remained in the house.....Raghav knew what he  had to do......

Raghav contacted  the old  chauffer   who had  called him on the day Kalpana  was attacked

'' I want  you  to  stay  close to  Kalpana all the  time....and  report to me immediately  if  you see anything suspicious''  Rahghav  instructed   ........''Raghav  sir  I am  old   but  I can  get  my  son   krish  to   help you....''Good!       Raghav  tapped   his  chauffer  on the  back.....Raghav had  always  liked and respected    his  employees.      ..within the   20 minutes    young  Krish arrived on  his  bike,.....he  noted down  every instruction   related  to him  ....and  quickly went on a tour of the  house  before Rubina  returned  from her office.....she  did not  like  strangers   in the  house.....Raghav  on  the  other  hand   checked  all the  windows  and  doors    and  instructed  two   security  personnel  on  the  first  floor  where  his  late granmother's  room  was  located .Kalpana occupied  the  room until   the  wedding  ...

The security  personnel  was  given  extra allowance  for their  work and dedication......they were grateful for the  extra income.....Raghav  sat with kalpana   for a few  hours    and  went  out...the  marriage   was still  three days  away....all  Raghav could think off is  Kalpan's  safety

Raghav  went to meet  the police inspector  assigned to  solve  and  nab the  person responsible for  attempting  murder....their  only clue  so far  was   that a woman was responsible..

'Raghav  sir......through the  cctv  we  got a close up  of  the  car  parked outside  the  boutique  and  shoe store....the  number plates  matched  but  we found  the car abandoned  in  simla ,,,how  it  got so far   we  are  not  sure  but we have  contacted  Simla  police  for  their  assistantance...we  will soon crack  the  case....."Can I see  the  cctv  footage...inspector  sham''Raghav requested   while  Saham obliged....Raghav  went  through it  and  suddenly   requested  one  particular video  to be zoomed  ....a  female  face reflected   on  the  glass door of  the boutique  came  clear........Sureka  Patel......''how  did you  see  that?   ..Inspector  Sham was  shocked......"Well  I  just  noticed  some  sort  of  reflection   and  zoomed on it''Raghav explained  .....''I  think we  have  our  suspect..''  .......You  are  right  ..we  will  investigate   this  at  once''....Sham  said   ''Raghav  clenched his  fist....''just don't  cause any alarm   or  she  will become alert....

Raghav  hurried back to the  house  .....and  found Kalpana  in  the room......"Kalpana  you trust me.don't  you?''...........''with  all  my  heart Raghav.''.....what  is  it?  you look so worried'''

" I am  Kalpana  ...I am....... wait  here  ''  Raghav  went to the  small  mandir  (Temple)  in the house and  carried  the  tray  with  the wedding  attire  and  jewels    ...to  Kalpana

"we are getting married  right  now  Kalpana......wear your  bridal  outfit    and jewels  and  come  downstairs...don't  be  late..''''But  what  about   Mother  and  aunt  Meena  and  uncle  Joshua,Kalpana protested

" you  do  trust me".Raghav   looked at  Kalpana ....."Yes''......Kalpana did  not argue  anymore but quickly  got dressed  and  hurried  downstairs.......the  maids  were gathered there...a  pandit was also there...Krish  was   present......Raghav sat beside Kalpana    the pandit began the marriage ritual.......Kalpana cried as Raghav    and  she circled  the sacred  fire and completed  the  seven   rounds....Raghav  tied  the  mangalsutra  around Kalpi's  neck and  was   in the  midst of  putting sinthoor  on her hair  parting    when Rubina walked in  .

''Raghav.!   what  is  the  meaning  is  this''  I told  you  that  the proper muhurat  for  the wedding  rituals is very   important''why did you disobey me....''and what about  our relatives and friends

'Mother  ''kalpana is  important to   me....not  relatives,,,,,,i  checked earlier  and  today morning is an auspious  time  for  weddings and  for  your  information  I found out  who is  responsible  for   trying  to  kill kalpana.

Raghav gestured  to all the  maids  to  leave,..only  Krish remained...

"What !  Rubina exclaimed....Turning a little  pale

"Yes  mother , Sureka Patel  is  behind all these evil.....I  will not  spare  her..i saw her reflection  on the  glass door  of  the  boutique  it was on the cctv  footage  at the  police station   ...she  was  seated in the car   ,.which was aslo  spotted  at the shoe store....the  car  is  in Simla.....the  police are  there.....I  had  to marry Kalpana  the  love of my life as soon as possible....before  Sureka tried  something else on Kalpana

Kalpana   saw her mother in law turn red with anger  but  she  kept  her  cool.........to  be  continued    ....Evelyn
