CHAPTER 19

FLASHBACK

Raghav and his small group had a lot of fun in the snow a little later....they also watched people toboganning and sking......enjoying themselves to the brim,,Kalpana sat on the tobogan in front of Raghav but got scared as it began to descend,Raghav abandoned toboganning but Khartik and Malini,,had a superb time,,,,chasing each other on the snow..........it was the time of their lifetime,They both thanked Raghav profusely...for his generousity for this gift......

The 3 weeks honeymoon vacation...was a glorious one for both the young couples....beautiful memories to cherish......Raghav .Kalpana...Malini and khartik.....bought little gifts for all the family members..
Raghav chose an exquisite diamond Pendant,,,,for his mother Rubina.. while....Kalpana chose a beautiful shawl for her mother in law......it was adorned with small roses.......and kalpana purchased it with love.......Alric Meinard.their tour guide bid them good bye....as they left Dolder Grant Hotel......Zurich Switzerland ..Kalpana slept all the way till they reaached Mumbai ,Airport..
Raghav held kalpi as she suddenly swayed in front of him..then she fainted....when she opened her eyes again''she was in Raghav's room at the mansion....a Doctor was hovering above her face,....kalpana flinched as a torch was held over her eyes
Mrs Kalpana is fine....nothing serious......she was not used to extreme cold climate...that's all......keep her warm..with lots of rest,,she will as good as as a healthy new born ........
Rubina Gupta ..stood by the door......"Let her rest Raghav.......Come into my room....we need to close the deal i am working on.......
'' Mother......i don't work for you anymore...... kalpana needs me.....she is not well''....Raghav replied and walked up to the bed and pulled an arm chair and sat on it and gently touched his wife's hand....
"Go to sleep kalpana..i am here with you.....''
Kalpana smilled and slowly she closed her eyes.......she slept ..........
Rubina walked back to her room and slowly closed the door behind her
kalpana woke up to see Raghav sleeping on the arm chair beside her bed..his head resting at her feet,,,'Raghav ....wake up..''she called softly......''mmmmmm'' Raghav mumbled and stretched out ..then he raised his head and his eyes flew open''kalpana ..what is it......are you feeling sick again.'' ..Raghav got into bed beside kalpana.....
i am feeling much better,,,,,but i want you to hold me,..........kalpana looked at Raghav forlornly........
''kalpana....you look worried..." what is it......?........Raghav put his arm around her and sat close to her'
Kalpana put her head on his shouder,...'' i don't know how to explain to you Raghav but i have a bad feeling that something is going to happen to me...i am scared.....''
oh you poor darling.....nothing is going to happen to you as long as i am with you....''Raghav said and hugged kalpana even closer to him....''i will send for uncle Joshua and aunt Meena.......if that would make you feel better''
"Oh yes Raghav .please do....i misse them both''"
'' you need to eat kalpana.'' i have ordered Pasta for you'.......''Raghav made kalpana lie back in bed till the food arrived.......he gently stroked her hair,,,..loving the soft feel of her .....''Raghav....i love you...''
''' i love you too kalpana.....''
i will love you forever..''kalpana .....you are my heartbeat...........'''...
a knock on the door.....made Raghav get out of bed.....and open the door.....
A maid walked in with a tray laden with food.....she placed it on the side table by the window and ''enjoy your meal maam ,,sir....the maid left closing the door behind her
Raghav made sure kalpana finished her food and later take her tablets
''Raghav...don't you need to go your office.....'' Kalpana wanted to know
"Nope.......i am excused..i am looking after my darling wife.''
kalpana still remained in bed for another hour.......''i need to shower ..''........kalpana got out of bed .and headed for the bathroom.....Raghav was already there.......filling the bathtub with warm water,....and. sweet smelling scented bubble bath....'
Kalpana stood at the edge of the bathtub and watched Raghav dipping his fingers to check the water ''
"Ah sweety...in you go....'' .Raghav gave his hand to Kalpana as she stepped into the bathtub......the water was sothing..it gave new strength to her limbs....,and she began to relax.. Raghav massaged her neck and shoulders ....then drained out the bubbles and gave a warm shower ,,he dried her hair and helped her into a warm cotton t -shirt and shorts and tucked her back in bed..and went out to his mother's room....the lights were  out,,,,Raghav assumed that his mother had gone off to sleep.
Rubina sat in bed wide awake.....with only the side table light on.......Raghav had been   defying all her efforts to make him stay on with the family business........he was so hooked on kalpana.......she was going to use all her power to get him back.....and sooner the better she thought..she stayed awake for a long time...thinking
The  following  morning  Rubina  was  waiting  at the   dining  table...
Raghav  walked in  holding Kalpana's  hand....''good morning  mother......they  both greeted..
''good  morning Raghav,Kalpana............''.how  do  you  feel...."'   my dear......Rubina  said  sweetly 
"i   feel  so  much  better  now" replied  Kalpana........with a smile..........then  her  face  brightened  up...when she saw  Aunt Meena  and  Uncle  Joshua  walk in to the  dining  room.
''hello  madam.......Joshua  greeted
i did not  know  both of  you were coming  over''Rubina  hid  her  shock....with yet another  smile.......Raghav  was  just  too much  she  thought
"I  invited   Aunt Meena and  Uncle  Josh...........Kalpana  would   love  it.''
"Thank You Raghav'' kalpana   touched  Raghav's  hand  lightly  in  gratitude
mother,   we  have  gifts  for  you.......saying  these  words..Raghav  gave  a  velvet  trinket box  to  Rubina
The diamond  glittered  in  the  lights
''thank  you  son........i  love  this   beautiful  ring.......Rubina  put  the  ring  on  and  displayed  it
kalpana  reluctantly  took her  gift  out.
"Kalpana..go  on  give  it  to  mother.''....she  will love  it.............Raghav got  up from his  chair   and  stood  behind  kalpana
''mother  this  is  for  you"'....i  hope  you  like  it''.......kalpana  said.......looking at  her  mother in law
'Rubina  opened  the  parcel  and  fingered  the   shawl....
''You  have  given  me  such a beatiful   gift.....kalpana......Rubina rose  from  her chair....walked up to kalpana  and  gave  her a hug
Raghav squeezed   kalpna's  hand''''see  i  told  you  mother  will like  it.......she  loves  you  kalpana......don't  doubt  that......
after  breakfast   Rubina  excused  herself''i have  work  to  do..please  make  yourselves  at  home......Rubina  looked  at  Meena  and  Joshua  and  smilled
Kalpana   took  out  the  rest  of  the  gifts  and   handed it  out....... a watch   for  Joshua  and  a   pretty   swiss  tea  set  for  Meena..who  fell in love  with it   immediately
even  the   maids  got  a  gift....from  kalpana
''maam  is  such  a  nice  lady....god  bless her  always........
The  next  few  days  Kalpana spend  her  time  relating  her  holiday in Switzerland..........Joshua and  Meena......simple  folks  were awed  ''we  don't  need to worry  about  kalpana  Joshua.........her  mother  in  law....really  loves  her''' Meena  whispered  to her  husband  when  Kalpana  went  upstairs  to  get  the  photo  album 
Raghav was away at work,......but  he  appointed  his  chauffeur   Krish  to  keep  and  eye on   kalpana  and  her  aunt and uncle.......Raghav even  paid  extra  to  his     security  personnel  to  watch  over    Kalpana.........where ever  she  went.....
a week  later........Kalpana   was with  meena and  Joshua  at  their  flats  when  they  heard  a loud  bang.
all rushed out  to see what  had  happened....an  accident......a   young  mother and  child  were being  lifted  from  a  drain
'oh  my  god.."...kalpana  screamed.it  was  their  neigbour   shanti  and  her  child..
kalpana  rushed  down  the  stairs  immediately .........to  the  accident  spot
shanti  and  her  child  escaped  with  only  scratches...''Thank  God  shanti  you are  safe  but  you still need to seee a doctor
'the  lorry  driver was   obviously  drunk..was  apprended  by the  police
kalpana  walked  up  the  stairs...when  she  felt  someone  behind  her....kalpana stopped   and  turned  but  no  one  was there'
still walking  up the stairs   again she  felt  she  was being followed.........she  turned  around  ......she  gave   a  sigh of  relief... it was   Gurdial  Singh........her   bodyguard.........''i  will be  here   '''maam......he  said  and   sipped  the  cup  of  hot  tea  he  had  in  his  hand
''take  care  kalpana...if  you  need  us   ..we  are   just  a call away
Kalpana  hugged   her  uncle and  aunt  and  walked  out....with  both  hands  full with  home  made  sweet  delicacies............as  she  walked  down  the  stairs  she  saw  Gurdial   ..standing    just  a  few   steps  away..she  smiled  and  took another  step  forward  .......she  felt  a  hand  on her  neck and  the  next  thing  she  knew  was  rolling  down  the  steps....hitting  her  arms  so  badly  on  the railing
"' madam...madam...she   could  hear   Gurdial   shout'''madam............Krish  who  was  waiting  in the car  rushed  upstairs........kalpana  was   bleeding  on  her  arm.....
"" i was  just  in front  of  her..Gurdial explained.........i did  not see anyone  ,near  madam....i  cannot  believe  what  had happened.....
"i think  someone  pushed  her  from  behind.maybe  waiting  for  madam..''''Raghav sir  is  going  to  kill us....''krish  said  carrying  Kalpana  in  his  arms.....while  Gurdial  Singh  Informed  Raghav   what  had  happened......
Raghav  rushed   to  the  hospital  where Kalpana was  taken...'
kalpana  had  a bandage  to  her  arm........her  head  had a nasty  cut........her  left  eye  was swollen
'Raghav  ,,she  is  damn  lucky  to  be  alive..........she  could  have  broken  her  neck.........it  is  obvious   someone  tried to  kill her......there  are  marks  on  her  neck.........the  doctor  explained   ...
Raghav  called  the  police  at  once...then  walked  up  to  kalpana.....who  started  crying   when  she  saw  him..he  hugged  her  ...and  felt  his  own  tears   falling on  her  head....kalpana  had  had  her  fears  that  something was  going  to  happen  to  her............
