Night #6

Nikki woke up and it was dark. She looked around as the leaves whistled and trees moved. She saw Vanessa asleep.

Ugh, I need a shower!

Nikki scrunched up her nose. She sighed as her stomach growled. She placed a hand on her cheek, feeling the humidity on her now sticky skin. She breathed slowly.

We're going to die

She thought again, making a face. Nikki almost forgot- her birthday was today!

Nikki stressed. Nobody with her to celebrate, no family to love her, no Vanessa's parents to play a teddy bear song, no cake, no fourteen, no use. Nikki scrunched her nose again.

I might have killed Max with the stench, she smiled to herself. No..

Nikki kicked some dust over the tracker. She lifted her head to the sky, and began to sing a small song. Something to take her mind off of her throbbing forehead.

She saw a hot springs and carelessly canniniballed in. Her head bobbed up and down and she wiped her eyes and laughed.

"Coming In!" Vanessa yelled, jumping in moments later.

The two laughed and laughed and laughed until they looked up and saw a scary sight:

Ash was ready to shoot Nikki with a bow, and Jackson was ready to throw a knife at Vanessa.

Nikki screamed as Jackson fired. Vanessa screamed and covered her head. Vanessa's face went under water as the knife stabbed into Nikki's side. Ash shot the bow and Nikki ripped out the Knife and threw it at Ash. Vanessa held her breath underwater for as long as she could. Nikki panted as blood filled the water. Vanessa broke free from water for air and then covered her friends wound.

"Oh, Sorry." Jackson said, shrugging.

Vanessa stared at Ash. "How could you?"

Nikki watched with dull eyes. Her breathing became quicker and quicker every moment she was dying.

Jackson hid his pain. He didn't want to kill Nikki; they were partners. If it wasn't for her, Vanessa wouldn't be saving her.

Ash jumped in, socking Vanessa  in the face. She screamed, letting Nikki go accidentally to block herself. Jackson yelled, jumping in as well. Nikki gasped for air as waves went over her head.

"Hi-Yah!" Vanessa yelled, throwing her fist at Ash. It hit is chest and he sucked in a large breath and fell into the water.

Vanessa looked up at Jackson, her jaw almost dropping. Jackson stabbed the knife at her. Vanessa grabbed the blade, stopping it before it hit her face. Her hand shook, pain in her eyes as she pushed Jackson backward. He tried to grab her as he fell, but hit his head on the rock and the wind was knocked out of him.

"Nikki? Nikki!?" Vanessa yelled, finally finding her limp body at the bottom.

Vanessa looked around and saw Ash dragging Jackson out of the water. Vanessa was trying to drag Nikki. She turned her back to Ash.

"This is all your fault!" She screamed, tears streaming down her face as she curled into a ball by Nikki's body.

Ash ignored her and left Jackson and walked over to Vanessa with a knife in his hand.

Vanessa stood up and stared into his deep blue eyes. The raven-haired boy raced away into thw woods without saying anything. The way he ran made Vanessa's heart hurt.

Jackson's eyes fluttered open and he jump to his feet.

Nikki opened her eyes. She closed them once she opened them. I'm alive..
