Once James lets go of me, he extends his hand and closes his eyes. A single rose sprouts up and he picks it off. He looks at me with dread and sadness in his eyes.
I couldn't imagine going through what he is right now. He saw his best and only friend be brutally murdered right in front of his eyes and then had her die in his arms with nothing he could do. She was the only thing he had for six years and now she's gone. Forever.
He leans over and places the rose on her headstone and places his hand on the ground. Suddenly, a single rose grows in the middle of her grave. Right where her heart would be.
