Chapter 20: No Hay Mal Muchas Gracias

I was sitting at Zecoras house, bored out of my mind. Waiting... Just waiting.

I heard the door open, and I narrowed my eyes. "Zecoras not supposed to be back until later, especially without the herbs, Shimmer?" Shimmer walked into view and I let out a sigh of relief.

"You scared me for a minute Shimmer. So, you got the items Zecora wanted?" Shimmer smiled and put her pack down onto Zecoras brewing table.

"So... How'd it go?" I asked, Shimmer looked at me, and something felt... Off.

"It went well, bought all the items, got a few cupcakes... Also, would you like to come with me to sugar cube corner tonight?" The question startled me, but I smiled back at her.

"Of course I'd like to go, Pinks makes the best cupcakes right?" Shimmer giggled, and she gave me my cupcake, and ate hers.

I stared at the delicacy in my hooves, and ate it. Course it was good but... Shimmer seemed different.

After a few minutes Zecora came back and smiled at us. "Ah I see, you've got the ingredients for me?" Shimmer handed them to Zecora. "Well off I go, better to make my appearance so." Zecora left, and I waved goodbye.

Few hours later.

"Samuel, you want to go now?" I turned to the giddy looking Shimmer and smiled. "Yeah, I'm ready, just let me get my mask." As said, I grabbed the mask, and put it on.

"Ok, let's go!" Shimmer grabbed my right hoof, and literally zipped out of the cot, dragging me with her.

When we reached sugar cube corner, I managed to pull my hoof from hers. "Geez Shimmer, what's the rush?" Shimmer was bouncing up and down, and she looked at me. "No reason, why do you ask?" "Because your being as hyper as Pinkie Pie." She stopped bouncing and rushed in. 'Yeah, something's definitely up...'

I walked in, and saw her sitting near a strange looking Stallion. I narrowed my eyes and walked over to the table.

"... -Ought him my liege." "Excellent." That's all I heard as I at down on the opposite side of the booth.

"Who exactly are you?" I asked. The strange stallion smiled under the hood, since sugarcube corners basically empty, cept for a few waitresses, the stallion lifted his hood.

"I am King Sombra, and you will be my pupil." The Stallions horn began to glow a dark purple, and he encased my horn with crystal.

"Now you're my slave." I looked up as Sombra towered over me in triumph that this was so easy. I smiled at him. "I ain't no slave you scum sucking fruit basket." I kicked his legs out from under him, and Shimmer launched herself at me, knocking me back down.

"Shimmer, what are you doing?" "Protecting my master!" 'Master?..' I looked into her eyes, and saw them green instead of the beautiful blue I once knew.

"Well done my servant." Sombra got up and dusted himself off. "You won't escape from us Samuel, just give in, and I'll show you power beyond you comprehension!" I looked up at Sombra and sneered. "Piss off." Sombra frowned down at me and clicked his tongue.

"Such a evil little colt... I LOVE it!" Sombra picked me up with his magic and looked me in the eyes. "Stare into my eyes Samuel, and become one with your maste-" I head butted Sombra, that's why he didn't finish.

Sombra reeled back in pain, and Shimmer jumped at me. This time I was prepared. I simply dodged her leap, and she collided with a large group of trays stacked against the wall.

While Sombra was stunned, I hammered my hooves into his ears, making them ring, and kicked him through the bakeries window.

"Like I said..." I climbed out the window myself and stared down at Sombra. "Piss off." I was about to bring down the hammer. (Avengers reference, but I wasn't using an actual hammer.) but was tackled from behind, into a puddle.

Me and my assailant rolled around a bit, until I threw her off me. "Come on Shimmer, fight his control!" Shimmer picked herself out of the puddle and snarled at me. "You shouldn't of disobeyed King Sombras orders." She charged me, yet again I sidestepped her, and she went past me. This time though, she stopped and used her magic to pick me into the air, and slam me against a tree.

Sombra got up, and used his own magic to slam me into the tree. He slammed me again and again until the tree broke, and he threw me into the side of a wall.

"Give. In!" Sombra picked me up again and snarled at my resistance. Some type of anger welled up inside me at his display. "No." Sombra let out a roar, and threw me against all the objects in the area. Tree, wall, bush, cat, and another tree."

"Fine, you won't give in, then I'll make you." He threw me onto the ground, and started to try and control my mind with his eye to eye contact crap.

His eyes were mesmerizing, but I smiled. He growled at my resistance again, and put more power into it. I was laughing at this, and he dropped me, kicking me in the gut while down.

"Why isn't it working? It always works?" He kicked me two more times, and my mask came off. I spat out blood, and looked him in the eyes, mine wide with insanity.

"Because I can't be held back." I pushed my will, until the shards on my horn broke, and Sombra gasped. I kicked him hard in the stomach, and got up.

Shimmer ran at me snarling, but I held her back with a force field. "You see Sombra, a monster like me isn't one to be pushed around. I don't take orders..." I kicked Sombra, causing blood to come out of his mouth. "I hate being told what to do..." I punched him across the face, making more blood come out.

"And I HATE, punks like you." I summoned a war hammer with my magic, and hit Sombra like a golf club, sending him flying into a tree, shattering that tree, and making him go through 4 more. I walked over to Sombras pathetic body, and picked him up, "and the last reason you can't control me, is because I am not SANE enough to be mind controlled fool." My eyes shone bright, and Sombras eyes widened with newfound fear.

I picked him up into the air, and chucked him across the plains, into the receding night. Sombra yelling all the way. "You may be able to control me, but it won't be now."

I turned to Shimmer, and touched my horn to her head. Her eyes dilated, and her eyes turned back to their original blue color. She passed out in my hooves, and I smiled.

'Thank Faust your ok.' I hauled her home, and set her on her bed.

"This is turning into a whole new type of adventure eh Sparkle?" I smiled at her sleeping form, and took my place next to he in a chair, and closed my eyes. Falling into the all too familiar dreamless sleep.
