Chapter 15: A Friend In Need

"SAMUEL!!"

I froze when I heard that. "Shimmer?" I turned to where the sound came from, and stared.

When I thought that there was no hope of hearing her voice again, I turned away and started walking off.

"SAMUEL!!"

I heard it again, and turned. An image flashed through my head of Shimmer being dragged off by 4 stallions. Their coats dark, and their eyes evil.

I snarled at the image. Then something caught my eye. One stallion, in particular, his coat was about as dark as mine but he... Was a she. "Danny..."

(Epic time.)

I Burst through foliage, running through the vale, whenever I saw an apparition. They snarled and charged at me, I raised my wings and flapped.

Somehow, I was abler to lift myself off the ground, and fly through the top of the trees. The weight of the vales power, slowly reduced.

I was flying so fast, that I almost passed the area that Shimmer was dragged from. I reduced my altitude, and hit the ground, cracking it.

I trotted up to the area where I saw Shimmer in my vision, and started sniffing. (Like a dog, yet... Where am I going with this? heh heh.)

My eyes widened and I turned to a dark grove of trees in the difference. I smiled, my purely sharp teeth shining in the rays of sun. "There you are." I teleported to the opening, seeing a dark shadow drag an unconscious Shimmer farther into the forest.

I snarled, crouched down, my body feeling like it's charged with lightning, and I could tell my red eyes were shining brighter than ever.

I teleported through the forest, after the receding shadows, and when I hit the ground the 9th time, I locked eyes with one of the stallions. He had purple eyes. "Heh heh heh, what do we have here? A lonely little stallion in the middle of the wo-" "RAAAAGH!!" I teleported forward and punched him hard. Even for my standards. His head went flying off his body.

The head connected into the end of a tree branch, impaling it.

"Holy... Crap..." I looked at the other groups and snarled. "Who's next?" They all looked at me and snarled. "You... You mongrel!" "Oh I'm the mongrel? Look at yourself you thieving idiot!" The girl who was dragging Shimmer (Danny) ran at me and tried to land at least one blow. She swung about 5 times, I dodged 4 and grabbed her right hoof on the fifth, and head butted her. Sending her into the ground.

The other ones all started coming at me, my sanity was falling from all the dodges I made, and hits I took. One hit me in the head, sending me into the ground. They kept hitting me, bent on trying to kill me. I looked over at Shimmers body, and saw she was watching in terror at what was happening to me. I smiled, and shot up in the air. Sending the others in directions. I went to the grey eyed one, and crushed his head before he realized what happened. I heard one coming behind me, and I summoned a blade into my right hoof, turned and shoved it through his head.

The other one looked in terror, just as I dropped the dead body, and turned to him. "Oh, what's wrong boy? Knife got your tongue?" I started laughing manically at that, and crept towards him, pinning him between me and a tree. I leaned forward with my canines shining in the little bit of light there was. "Why so serious? (Don't sue.)" I bit my canines into his neck, and ripped out a huge chunk of flesh. I spat it out, and watched as he slowly died, and flailed about.

I turned my attention to Shimmer, and ran over to her. "S-Samuel, w-what?" "Save your breath, I'll get you out of here."

I picked her up, and placed her on my back. "M-moon drop..." I turned to a squirming bag she pointed too, and picked it up as well.

"Next stop, anywhere but here. Also Shimmer..." I turned and looked into her slowly closing eyes. "I do care." Her eyes closed when I finished, and we flew off into the night. Not once did I care for Danny, or will I ever.
