Sparkle's Quest, Samuel's Journey (Book 1 of The Alicorn Chronicles)

Chapter 11: Ponyville

I'm not used to towns anymore, whenever I walk past a stallion or mare, they grab their child, and hide them from my view. I keep looking at all the changes that were made while I was away. More buildings, less architectural flaws, and at least on bakery.

A pink pony jumped in front of us, surprising me and Shimmer. "Hi I'm pinkie pie! I've never seen you before, what's your names?" She talked do fast it was hard to keep up, but what confused me the most, was why she was talking to ME. "I'm Sparkle Shimmer, student of Celestia, hoping to become a Princess..." I spaced out at the last part, did I tell you I hate the word princess? I did? Well I'll say it again, I HATE it.

"... And the stallion next to me is Samuel." Shimmer pointed to me, and it snapped me from my trance. Pinkie smiled brighter, and out of nowhere, literally nowhere, brought out a cannon of sorts. She pulled the fuse back, and out shot confetti, it was unexpected, but I wasn't affected. "This is your singing telegram I hope it finds you well! I really hope you find it swell! (Insert rest of song here.)" everypony around us started clapping and I actually smiled.

"Do you know where we could find something to eat?" I asked, Pinkie nodded her head so fast, and smiled so wide, that it seemed impossible. "Sugarcane corner is this way! Follow me!!" She then started hopping off, and we followed.

"We've got the yummiest, most spine tingling scrumptious food in all of Equestria!" I smiled at that part. 'We'll see about that...' I continued walking, and sat at a booth in a corner room, and Shimmer sat next to me. "What would you like?" I looked at the food that was available, and had trouble deciding. There was just so much! "How about the Cupcake supreme? I made it myself!" I smiled and looked up from the pictures. "That sounds amazing pinks, I can call you pinks right?" She nodded her head up and down, and turned to Shimmer. "And what would you like?" "I'll take the same." Pinkie scribbled it down on a notebook I never noticed, and said. "Coming right up!" She then walked into the kitchen, and I shook my head at her departure.

"And I thought I was crazy." Shimmer chuckled at that and smiled. "So Samuel, what's really with your cutie mark?" I cringed at it, and looked around to make sure no one was listening. I sighed, and signaled for her to lean forward a bit. "My cutie mark insignifies-" "Here's your food!" Two giant cupcakes cut our conversation short, and I breathed a sigh of relief. "This isn't over Samuel!" Shimmer said while eating giant bites of the cupcake. "Alright." I took a spoon, and took a piece if the cupcake out, and ate it, I thought my eyes gleamed for a moment and I looked at pinks. "These are amazing pinks! What'd you put in them?" She smiled in appreciation, and answered. "2 bags of sugar, some icing, a lot and I mean A LOT of chocolate, and some apples." I smiled at her, and turned to the cupcake and kept eating. "Your a really good baker Pinks. Have you ever thought of going to Canterlot to make a fortune?" I stopped eating half way, and looked at Pinks. She nodded her head and squeed a bit, making me choke down a laugh. "Yep, I have, but I much rather prefer being here! I'm near friends, family, and I don't care for money! I just want to make everypony smile!" Shimmer looked confused, but probably shook it away.

Few minutes later, we said our goodbyes to Pinks and continued on our journey to Canterlot. "Halt! You right there!" I stopped dead in my tracks, and turned around slowly.

"In the name of the Princesses, your coming with us Samuel." The Royal guard... This should be interesting...
