unexpected

Seventeen

I woke up alone in Cameron's bed. I reached over on the bed side table and grabbed my phone. it was around 10.

I checked all of my social media and walked downstairs.

it sounded like no one was home. but I walked into the kitchen and Hayes was sitting there eating pancakes while he was scrolling through his phone.

"good morning" I greeted him as I ate a piece of bacon.

"hey um I need to talk to you." he said awkwardly.

"ya what's up?" I asked as I sat across from him at the table.

"you know how Hayley had to go home because of a family problem?" he asked.

"ya"

"well she isn't close with her family at all. she hates them. her mom left her because she had her when she was 16 and as soon as she gave birth she ran off and left her with her grandma. her grandma is really wild and crazy and last night she went to jail. so Hayley had to pack up everything and move in with her uncle that she barely knows." hates explained to me.

"oh my gosh that's awful. is she okay?" I asked in shock.

"I'm not sure. she called me around 3 this morning crying and she couldn't get it together. I felt so bad" he said.

"im gonna see if she wants to come over tomorrow if that's okay" Hayes said.

"yea that fine. I just feel so bad for her." I said as I ate some pancakes.

"so I heard about your outbreak at dinner last night" Hayes chuckled.

"can we please not talk about it" I said as I covered my face from embarrassment.

"we don't have to talk about. but you know what we are going to talk about? THE FACT YOU GET TO GO WITH US ON TOUR FOR TWO WEEKS" he cheered.

"I KNOW IM SO EXCITED!!" I cheered with him.

"but if I'm a 'distraction' then they have to send me home." I groaned.

"well that's weird. but where is cameron and Nash?" I asked.

"they are at a photo shoot. I don't know when they will be home. do you want to go to the beach in a little bit?" he asked.

"ya who else is going?" I asked.

"just me and you but I mean we can invite people if you want to" he offered.

"no it's fine. it can just be us. I'm gonna go get ready. " I said as I skipped up to my room.

I took my hair out of a bun and slipped on a black bikini. over it I wore a sweatshirt and gray shorts. I put on my adidas superstars to finish the outfit.

I grabbed my phone off of the charger and walked downstairs.

"ready?" Hayes asked.

"yea um how are we getting there?" I asked.

"we can walk, ride bikes or penny board" Hayes replied.

"let's ride bikes" I said as I walked out to the garage.

we hopped on our bikes and rode them to the beach.

when we arrived, we locked out bikes on the bike rack.

"the beach is so pretty" I spoke.

"I love it so much. it's my favorite place." hayes said as we walked towards the water.

"come on let's go sit on these rocks" I said while pointing to the pile of big rocks near the water.

"this is so cool" Hayes said. I agreed with him.
