These wide, red eyes stared brightly back into the night, taking in all the change but also being a change. Her skin is creamy white and smooth all over. Her nails are longer, glass like, and strong. Her lips are red, just a shade away from the color of blood. Her hair grew two more inches, permanently waved itself and glowed like the sun's rays were captured in it.

"Johanna?" I ask.

With human speed, she turns her head to the side and looks at me with a small smile on her face, "Hello, Gabriel."

My jaw dropped. She could speak again! And that beautiful voice that I had been longing to hear, the one that was as clear as bells, sounded even more perfect. Sounded as if she knew it was even more perfect.

"Oh, Lovely Love, I've missed you more than you can know!" I say throwing my arms around her.

"I've missed you too," she whispers, fingers tangling into my hair.

"Do you remember?"

"Everything," she says, slowly sitting up. Her mouth opens, dropping at the way things look with her new vampire eyes.

"I can see it all as if it were day. I can see the 8th and 9th colors you were talking about." She slowly stands up, "I can smell the rain, I can smell the fish just under the lake, I can smell the perfume in town." She dances around to the trees and then to the direction of town, " Hell, I can even smell hot wings from the bar!"

She laughs. Then clamps her hands over her mouth. Slowly she lowers them, a huge smile spread over her face and her red eyes shinning with amusement. She laughs again, and it sounds perfect, it sounds like- its undescribeable, but its beautiful.

She looks at me and then next thing I know her legs are wrapped around my waist and her arms are locked around my neck. She pulls my head to hers and our lips meet, ice against ice. I almost forgot that she wasn't my delicate love anymore, but she didn't forget that. She forced my lips open and slipped her tongue into my mouth, and when I went to taste it, she pulled it away. She was teasing me so I kissed her back harder, and she kissed harder in return. We didn't look like we were sharing a passionate kiss, but trying to murder each other with our lips instead. But inside, we both knew that this kiss was filled with only passion and love.

"What can you hear?" I whisper.

She stops, her body goes rigid as she jumps off of me.

"I hear them. Gabriel, I hear our kids," she says, I can hear the sob in her voice and sense the tears that would fill her eyes.

Before I reply she turns around and takes off in the opposite direction from our house; she's going towards town.
