Almost one year later, Johanna was in the midst of finally starting her business, I was starting to get back in Rodrick's good graces, and the twins were almost one.

"Hi, honey, how is work?" I asked.

"Busy, just like I thought it would. I have so much to do! We open in a week, I still have to hire people, I need to get plenty of product, and we have to finish decorating," I could just imagine Johanna looking frantic and a mess. Her hair would be pilled on top of her head messily, she was holding a clipboard in one hand, and directing people with the other, she would be holding the phone to her ear with her shoulder.

"Well, do you want me to tell Rodrick I can't make it tonight? I could come help you paint if you like." I asked into the phone.

She paused, and when she spoke I could practically see her warm smile, "No, dear. As much as I would love for you to be here to help me keep my head on, you told Rodrick you would work tonight. You're just becoming friends again, I'll make do. Besides, I don't want you to see until it's done."

I laughed, "Alright, if you insist."

"Oh, sweetie, I won't be home until late tonight. There is just way too much to do! Can you call Rhoan and ask him to babysit?"

I sighed, "He's going out tonight."

"We let him use his magic to make a secret basement, we let him live with us in our house, and he can't skip a night at a club to watch his nephew and god daughter?"

I chuckled to myself, she was a little on edge with the store opening and she always took it out on Rhoan because he dished it right back, "Jo, he babysat the other afternoon when we..."

"Okay, okay." She yelled, "He's excused this time. Gabriel,-"

"Its fine, love. I'll find a sitter and I'll see you first thing in the morning."

No matter how busy she was, she always made the time to give me a nice goodbye 'I love you'. She always said that our love isn't something "quick", it would last forever. So we should take the time to say 'I love you' and mean it no matter what we were doing.

"I love you," she said.

"And I love you too."

"Tell Nikola and Drew I love them!"

I pressed the speaker button and put the phone by the kids, "Its Mama," I whispered.

"Mama!" Nikola squeeled.

"Ma-meee!" Drew yelled.

"Hello, beautiful babies," again, I could hear the smile in her voice, they always made her day better, "Mommy loves you. I'll see you two later. Kisses to my babies!"

They put their hands to their lips and pulled them away, like they were blowing kisses.

I ended the call and set bowls of mashed peaches in front of them. But they were so busy playing with the house phone, thinking that Johanna was still in there talking to them.
