Zoey
When I awoke, the floor was warm, and had a sort of cloud feel to it. My eyes opened slowly, and I realized it was a cloud I was lying on!
I felt confused. Why was I here? Wasn’t I dead? Where was I?
I sat up, still suspended in mid-air, as I had been since I woke up. My eyes glanced around, still trying to figure out my location.
To my right, an endless bed of clouds. To my left was an opening in the blanket. This caught my interest, so I went over to it, still hovering.
Once I arrived, I peered over the cloud’s edge, growing afraid I may fall. Even though I had the ability to fly, I didn’t trust the phenomenon enough to take away all care.
What I saw was familiar; a castle. Not Blackrock, but Lalna’s Castle. I was again confused by the fact that I was in a strange place, rather, above one.
I turned to the endlessness of the clouds. “Anyone, anyone at all! Answer me!” My voice bellowed loudly in the Silent Realm. I doubted anyone heard my call, so I looked back and continued to look through the crack in the clouds.
I asked myself three questions. Where am I? What am I doing here? Aren’t I dead?
Then it hit me. I was dead, and this is the afterlife. I looked down to my hand, the one blown off in the Nuke, which was all brand new flesh and bone. Behind it, I noticed the long, flowing, lavender dress that I was wearing. I had no shoes on, but I supposed that didn’t make a difference, as I was in the clear sky.
If I was truly in the afterlife, I couldn’t die, for that was the reason I was there. Trusting my instincts, I turned to the hole in the clouds, and jumped.
Before I got far, I heard a voice coming from behind me. “Wait!” She yelled.
I stopped in the air, leaning back into a sitting position, then turning to look at the caller.
A woman, looking a lot like me, showed. The red-haired girl was wearing normal, more earthly attire. She had an aqua colored V-neck shirt on, and a pair of black jeans. Her purple high tops were tattered slightly, and the satchel that rested on her shoulder looked like she had had it for years.
“What were you doing, girlie?” She asked, smiling.
“I was… uh…” I stuttered, stunned by the resemblance between her and I.
“You were going to find your real world friends, huh?” The girl flew up by me, copying my sitting position.
“Well, I was trying to.” I guiltily responded.
“I understand. But you know, there’s another way to see them.”
“How?” I widened my eyes as the interest began flowing through my veins.
