Ridgedog
The orb in my hands revealed every secret. Leah was still going on to find that scientist, and she was convinced she could do it without much trouble—she was wrong. She had defied me. That worthless soul. I would get her for it, sooner than she knew.
I hopped into the void for another round, letting the endless space funnel into the light of the real world. Once out of the space, SipsCo Compound slowly came into view. My tactics were simple: turn invisible, find Leah, destroy her company from the inside out, and then go to her. Oh, I was such a maleficent man—just the personality for a demi-god.
My path locked onto her footprints. It didn’t take long for me to see her and Rythian searching to find her long gone friend. She didn’t know I was above her, but she couldn’t forget me after what I was about to do.

“I don’t know about this. Maybe we should just look again some other time.” I shrugged, scared to death of what Ridgedog had told me. That man terrified me to no end, and I could only feel his presence in my soul.
“Really, are you sure?” Rythian began. “You’ve been waiting for this day at least two months. This may be the only chance you have.”
My hand shook as he spoke, but I responded weakly. “What if he’s already dead?”
He answered quickly. “Oh, no no no. Don’t you dare say that. You have to have hope. Do you understand what I’m getti—“
Rythian suddenly stopped talking. A few seconds later, he started slowly crouching to the ground.
“Are you alright?” I asked, bending down beside him; my heart pounding.
He blinked three times in the same moment, and then answered me with a shaking voice. “Uh… ye-yeah… I… my chest just started throbbing…”
“Here,” I said. “Sit down.” My shaking hand led him to the ground.
The mage let out a loud cry the second he touched the ground. He rolled onto one side and clutched his abdomen. At this point, there was nothing I could think to do. Help was hours away, and I didn’t know CPR or any life-saving procedures to ever help him myself. That’s when it hit me.
The very moment I watched the mage throw himself to the other side was the moments I saw her in those violet eyes. That was the moments I saw Zoey’s red hair. I couldn’t act helpless. Zoey would fall victim to the grieve that went along with her friend’s death.

I watched, without a flinch, as the mage struggled under Leah’s gaze. Tears streamed down her face and everywhere she looked there was no one. She was crying out for help, but there was no one around to save her now. I felt not a pinch of mourning for her—she had defied me, and that was a sin from my view point.
My hand was extended to reach my power into the mage’s body. It would most likely kill him, but that didn’t matter. Nothing in this world was more of a great time for me than revenge.
How does it feel, worthless? What is it like to not know what’s going on? I thought, mouthing the words in my head.
Her faint voice as she knelt down by the mage made me chuckle. “I’m sorry, Zoey… I’m so sorry.” As she cried harder, my cruelty grew. This pain was satisfying, but not good enough. I let my magic overtake him for only a few seconds, but that was all the time I needed to break her heart into a million pieces. What wonderful sounds: betrayal, fear, anguish. Why hadn’t I thought of all of this before?
