Chapter 2

Scarlet has been here for three days now and she already knows her way around way too well. On the second day she found her way to the training hall without anyone mentioning we had one. And she hasn't taken off her sunglasses, not once. I'm starting to think she's a spy.

"Scarlet, may I see you in my study please?" I tell her. She nods and follows me upstairs. I sit in my chair behind my desk. Scarlet sits in the chair opposite me.

"What do you want to talk about?" she asks.

"Just a little curious about your background" I say.

"Oh" she says surprised "I don't have anything to hide"

"What Clan did you come from assuming you really are a Shifter" I say.

"Yes I am a Shifter but I do not come from any of the Clans I am an Outcast by choice and have been for a few years now" she explains.

"What Clan did you come from before that?" I ask.

"I can't remember which one of the Clans but I remember being found by an unregistered Clan and being trained there"

"What Clan was this" I ask getting annoyed.

"I don't know the never said the name around me" she explains.

"Why do you always where those sunglasses?" I wonder aloud.

"I don't know" she says. Something tells me she's lying.

"Then take them off" I command. Something starts to feel familiar about this girl in front of me, the way she carries herself, her speech patterns and the fact that she knows where everything is without ever being here before. I watch her hesitate.

"If you weren't hiding something then you would have done as I have asked by now" I say.

"Fine" she says as she pulls off the glasses. I come face to face with the bright green eyes that I haven't seen in a long time. It all makes sense now. This assassin sitting here in front of me is from a long lost memory from before I became Clan Leader.

"It can't be you" I say as I stare at her perfect face.

"It is Kelly, it's been a long time" she says.

"Arura" I say quietly "But you can't be alive, I watched you, all those years ago, I watched you fall" I say getting louder.

"Shh, I don't want the others knowing that I live" Arura says quickly "and you're right Arura did die that day"

"I've missed you so much" I say as I begin to tear up.

"Stop crying, crying is a weakness that was beaten out of me a long time ago" she says as she puts her glasses back on "I go by Scarlet now and that is what you will call me or I will kill you and the rest of this pathetic Clan" she says.

"This was your Clan once too; it's you who should be sitting here not me. Do you know what you put me through? All those years thinking you we're dead and believing it was my fault? They had to put me in the dungeon so I wouldn't kill myself!" I break down and start crying.

"I had my reasons" she says solemnly. I watch as I see one tear roll down her face before she wipes it away.

"What happened to this place anyways?" she asks.

"After you left and the Clan dragged it's self out of the depressing hole of their future leader killing herself. I assumed your position and began to train as the new leader. Two years later Summer is the weapons teacher, Ivy's married and I'm the Clan Leader. Despite all of the human action we are thriving very well" I in form as I regain my composure.

"Wow, I had no idea what me, leaving would do to the Clan" Arura says.

"Why did you fake your death anyways?" I say curiously.

"That bastard Damien was the spy, you were right but he used a weird mind trick to make me think the way he wanted me to"

"I told you he was the spy and mom knew she just didn't have the right circumstances to kill him yet" I say.

"How is mom?"

"Go see her for yourself she's an Elder now or do you still not respect them?" I say.

"I can't she'll know who I am the second she sees me and I can't have them blow my cover"

"What cover, what are you trying to hide?"

"I don't want people's attention and if they knew the truth then I would have more attention than I would have if I became leader, which is also kinda why I left" she explains.

"You pretended to kill yourself because you didn't want attention and to be with your mate?" I ask angrily.

"Mom wouldn't understand if I stepped down to leave the Clan to go with my mate to his Clan" she says. I suddenly realize something.

"If your mate was hung then how are you still alive and functioning?" I ask quickly.

"How is mom still alive if her mate died almost 18 years ago?"

"True but I have a theory about that which I would like to test before I say anymore on the subject. But I don't think he was your mate. He was from the Black Sky Clan and he said after you fell off the cliff that he just had to push me off and the prophecy would be no more" I explain.

"He's not my mate his was going to be killed if he didn't kill us or return with one of us" she says.

"I never liked him" I say "Well of there is anything you need just ask. Oh and this doesn't change you being our Clans assassin"

"Sure Leader, whatever you wish" she says sarcastically. We walked down the stairs after she made me swear on my life and the life of the Clan that I wouldn't tell anyone. As my foot hit the last step Ivy came bursting through the door.

"Oh My GOD!" Ivy squeals.

"What?" I ask quickly. Summer comes running into the room.

"Guys" she says slowly "Well this month I was late -and I'm never late- so I took a test and....I'm Pregnant!" She says as she waves the test around. Summer and I hug her.

"OMG! Congratulations !" I scream.

"Congratulations! Can you name it after me?" Summer asks.

"Maybe" Ivy says laughing.

"Congrats" I hear Scarlet say as she walks from the house. I know it's going to be hard for her to hide her identity for the next few days.
