Chapter 24

Scarlet

I walk down the stairs leaving Seth knocked out behind me. The idiot didn't even notice when I melted the locks off. I feel drained as I push Summer out of my way slightly. I force my hand through the barrier of the dome and place my finger on his chest.

"You are the reason I am who I am today" I begin angrily "I hate everything and I trust no one and I hate myself. You locked me up for almost two years and tortured your own daughter until she was almost dead almost every day. I suffered broken bones and cuts and scars, infection and even rape while you sat back and watched. You are a sadistic bastard and deserve all that I will do to you. I Scarlet, challenge you my father, Colum, to an elemental duel" Everyone looks at me in awe. Colum lowers his head and I see him smile as he looks up. I close off my emotions so he doesn't see the fear I have from his smile that looks like it should on the clowns in your worst nightmares.

"I will enjoy killing you for real this time, I accept" he says accepting my challenge.

"Kelly will be the judge" I say pushing out my confidence. He nods and I drop the air field that surrounds him. He walks back to the stairs beside the thrown.

"This challenge will be a fight to the death" Kelly yells "no weapons real allowed this is only a fight using your powers" I know she just gave me a very high advantage. I know I can creat weapons for myself but Colum has no way of creating weapons and can't just grab one. He's as good as dead.

"That is unfair I can't make my own weapons" Colum complains.

"Fine, Colum you may use a weapon of your choice" she says. He unclips his cape and it flutters to the floor. We all watch as he pulls a silver sword out of it's sheath in his hip.

"If you die I'll kill him for you" Summer says in my ear.

"Thanks for the confidence" I say "oh and if I do die I want you to know I've always found you pretty hot" Ian growls from the other end of the room and Summer giggles.

"Fighters, begin!" Kelly yells. I take my stance and call earth to me without moving. Colum charges me with his sword ready and forward. I create my own sword using metal and fire. It forms a wonderful sword that feels like an extension of my own arm. At the last second I pull my sword up and turn it slightly as his connects to mine. The move sends him to the side causing him to fall off balance.

"You did learn something's from my teachings" he says as he stands up and dusts himself off.

"I did not want to be able to do this" I say "I wanted to nurture and create. I never wanted to kill and destroy"

"But you have gained the skills too, why not use them?" Colum says as he begins the beautiful dance between our two swords. They move and clash together and move the same at each other.

"You forced me to learn" I yell. I feel my anger boil.

"All I did was help you see what you could be when you were lost and was there when you were alone" he tries.

"No you were there to train me to kill for you and I did. You were there to watch me suffer as I was beaten for slipping up or doing something wrong. You broke my bones" I yell swinging my sword harder as I go. I flick my wrist and his sword flies from his hand. He goes to get it and I shoot out my hand and melt the sword.

"You are strong, you have learned and grown from what I taught you. I am proud of you" Colum says as he raises his hands in defeat and begins to back away.

"I may be stronger now but Kelly will always be your favourite. You told her that before you tortured her into being your mindless robot for your entertainment after you drained her of almost all of her blood and with it taking her wolf and powers!" I rant as I walk closer with my sword raised at his chest level.

"Yet she can still change and use those powers until you kill your brother" he says.

"I will never kill Ian. Not for anything, he is too important to my family. The one you destroyed in greed and hatred" I say calmly. I hear a few gasps of shock from behind me but I ignore everyone.

"But you want to. You want to use what I did to you to kill like I taught you to" he tries again. I take my sword and let it drop and disappear into the ground where it came from. I walk forward until his back hits the wall.

"I don't want to kill anyone but you. I want you dead" I say with venom as I create a dagger out of lava. It feels cool in my hand but I know it's extremely hot to everyone else.

"Okay I get it, I give in, you win this challenge or battle or whatever. Please just show me mercy, I am your father after all" he says panicked.

"But I was taught to never show mercy. You my father taught me to make them suffer and made me suffer when I didn't. I made a promise to make you feel the pain that I did" I yell as I feel my anger boil over the top. Something inside me moves and clicks.

I call all I've the elements to me as I back up slowly not once taking my eyes off of the bastard until I am in the centre of the room. He has moved forward enough so that he is out in the open more.

I launch water in waves while I set fire to his clothes and have wind pulling at his skin as vines grow up through the tiles and crack and brake them as they grow around his legs and lift him in the air while the other elements continue attacking him. He screams in terror and pain as the blood begins to drip down the vines that cut his legs and the wind begins pulling off some of the skin.

"Kill me already!" he manages to yell over all of the commotion.

"This isn't the first time someone's begged for their death by my hands but I never gave it to them. I let self loathing and infection do the job for me more then once. I lived on the run, killing people for money to buy food and clothes with while you hunted me down constantly. None of your men returned because they were pathetic humans! I killed them all. Every last one, all of your people that worshiped you are all dead just like you will be!" I scream over him.

My fingers begin to glow purple. the glow spreads through my body and up the vines. The rain and fire begin to change to the same purple colour as I am. I know what is happening and I have done it. I focus on Colum and I can almost feel where he is. I latch onto that and pull tightly. I force images and memories into his mind of what I suffered through. The last one I send is the one where I was raped. As the cowered on top of me forced himself inside of me Colum threw his hand down his pants and looked me in the eyes and I cried and screamed for my death. One that I never got.

"That is what I suffered and how you will. I send you to hell you dirty sadistic bastard!" I yell as I feel him snapping. I open my eyes and watch as his soul leaves his body and screams as it brakes into tiny pieces that scatter all over the ground.

The earth opens up and sucks in the storm I had created, taking with it all of the thorny vines, blazing fire, howling winds, drowning floods and his body.

I hear cheers and clapping as I turn around. I watch as all of the people begin to blur and move as I feel myself get really tired. The people all flip on their sides as I feel something hit my side. I let the darkness take me over as I welcome the relief of sleep.
