Chapter 12

We decided to go for a run. Well Ivy and I are, Summer wanted to stay back and make food. She doesn't like Shifting very much and only does it when it's absolutely necessary. I don't know what's up with that but oh well there's more important things to be doing. Ivy and I return tired and panting. This is probably the last time she'll be in this form until her pups are born. I can't wait to see them. Summer lets us inside the house and we walk upstairs to Shift and put of clothes. I pull on some old yoga pants I found in the closet of my room and a hoodie that was once baggy on me. Well the clothes are about three years old so what do you expect. I walk back downstairs to eat whatever Summer made.

"Enjoy!" she says placing a bowl of instant noodles in front of me. I laugh and start eating.

"Can you cook anything else?" I ask.

"Nope, just toast and sometimes I burn that. I grew up eating this pretty much twice a day for over a year. I can cook it with my eyes closed" she boasts. I laugh harder and continue eating. For instant noodles it's actually pretty good.

"Come quick!" I hear Ivy call. Summer and I run up the stairs and into the office.

"I found it" Blake says. "I managed to get a radio signal being transmitted from here" he says pointing at a red dot on Kelly's map "to here, here, here and here" he says pointing to new blue dot's I presume he wrote himself "I found the building you were looking for and hacked into their security system and look" he says moving the monitor so we can see. I watch as Kelly is dragged down the hallway on the way back to her cell. I push the tears back and look at her more closely. She's barely awake and is covered in bruises and cuts.

"Oh my" Ivy says turning away clearly seeing the same things I did.

"Who would do something like that to her?" Summer cries "How could someone be so cruel to beat someone like that? How is she still alive?" Summer starts ranting.

"I know who and how" I say quietly. Everyone turns and looks at me.

"What?" Ivy asks slowly.

"I know the disgusting lowlife that would do something like that to a person and not feel a thing but happiness" I say venomously. I grab the bottom of my sweater and pull it over my head. "He's the same person who injected me with so much silver and wolfsbane I almost lost my wolf and I did lose my healing abilities as you can see" I say tuning around so they all get a good look at the scars on my back, sides and stomach. "He did this to me and will do this to her. On Monday if we haven't gotten her out he's going to kill her and take her wolf for himself. He's an evil sadistic bastard who needs to be killed as soon as possible" I say. Everyone stays quiet for a few minutes watching the screen as Kelly is taken out of sight of the cameras.

"Well since none of you are willing to help me I'll go get her myself!" I say loudly.

"Don't be stupid, Arura, we're going to help you as best as we can!" Ivy says.

"Don't call me that! Arura did die that day on the cliff. I'm Scarlet now and forever will be!" I say trying to stay calm. "Well I think we should have someone stay here and watch the cameras and help by disabling locks and crap like that" Ivy put's her hand up.

"I can do that, I don't want to be in all the fighting I'm too pregnant for that" she says giggling and looking at Blake.

"If you're staying then I'm staying because you have no idea what you're doing on a computer" Blake says. I can't believe all those years ago he was a sexist, egotistic bastard and meeting Ivy changed all that.

"Okay Summer will you go with me? I'm going to need your help taking him down and you're the best fighter I know and would love for you and your mates to accompany us" I say getting down on one knee like I'm preposition to her. Everyone laughs. Much better I hate it when people are unhappy.

"Yes, now let's go pack" she says. I laugh and we walk down the hall. I veer off into my room. I pull the suitcase (read: backpack) out from under the bed and throw some clothes in it and shut it. I meet Summer in the hallway and we march downstairs.

"Do you know what an angry male werewolf can do when he wants his mate back?" I ask Summer as we open the secret door to the basement. It's always reminded me of the room Harry Potter used to live in at the beginning of the first movie.

"No I don't, why bring that up?" She says.

"Well I do and we're taking Seth or else we're not going to get anywhere" I say smugly. A male fighting for his mate is seriously deadly and we're going to need all the help we can get. I grab the silver shackles and walk into the cell behind Summer. Ian and Rin immediately look up from where they're sitting and look at Summer. Rin disappears.

"So you've come for us" a voice says from behind me. I turn and throw a punch knowing very well that it's Rin, I just really don't like it when he does that. He catches my hand and twists my arm. "Well I'm not going to die today even if that means sucking you dry"

"Rin!" Summer says shocked. "We're not here to take you to be killed we're taking you guys on a mission" Ian walks up and hugs Summer. He looks at me and then to the shackles. He lets Summer go and holds out his wrists.

"I go wherever Summer does even if that means being restricted to one form" he says sadly. I close the cuffs around his wrists and he walks out behind me. I cuff Seth while Summer places a special device on Rin. Since he's a Vampyre silver doesn't affect him like it affects Shifters. He gets an ankle bracelet with a Taser in it. All we have to do is press the button and he's knocked out for a few minutes.

"Okay let's get them some clothes and we'll be off" I say locking the shackles on Seth. I watch as he crumples to the ground in front of me. "What the hell!?!" I scream.

"Oh yeah he's a werewolf and not a Shifter so we may need to adjust that" Summer says. I roll my eyes and undo the shackles. Crap. He's like barely breathing. What would happen if he was injected with it instead of it just brushing against his skin? He'd be dead in a second.

"We'll get him a harness and keep him in wolf form" Summer says leading Rin and Ian upstairs. "Meet you in ten" she calls before I hear the door slam shut.

"I'm awake don't worry" Seth says sitting up.

"Why did you do that?" I ask him.

"I want her to keep up her illusion of what I am now, let's go get my girl back" He says walking out the door. I follow Seth upstairs and watch as he climbs the second set. I pick up my suitcase and throw it over my shoulder. I watch as Summer drags Ian and Rin down the stairs both luging bags. Ivy comes down the stairs behind them holding another bag of stuff. She dumps it on the kitchen table.

"I'm not letting you all leave without having any communication!" she says handing Summer and I a walkie-talkie each. I shove mine in my bag and hug her.

"Thank you Ivy" I say as she returns the hug.

I lead them outside and we construct a harness out of vines, rope and a little duct tape from Kelly's secret stash. Summer chose pink and purple duct tape just for this occasion. Seth comes outside carrying a small backpack like mine. I watch as he eyes the harness.

"I'm not wearing that" he says flatly.

"Then your going to stay here and we'll make you watch Kelly be killed" Summer says her voice equally as flat.

"Fine" he says dropping his bag and matching into the forest. I hear a slight rustling and then a deep growl. A jet black wolf with fire truck red markings emerges slowly from the bushes. I let my mouth open as I take in his wolf. I watch as his muscles under his black and red coat move fluidly as he stalks closer. I watch as Summer slips the harness over his huge head and around his forelegs. I stare in awe as the swirls and curves coming off of a large red patch covering his back like a cape move and twist like they're alive. A deep growl of protest from Seth snaps me out of my trance.

"Okay Scarlet lead the way" Summer says.
