Chapter 7

I awoke to the sunlight glaring in my eyes.  I suddenly become aware of something holding on to me.  I panic and sit up.  I look around.  I’m on the couch in the living room and Seth is cuddled up to me.  Scarlet, Summer and Ivy are lying around the room asleep.  Seth looks up at me sleepily.

“I’m so glad you’re okay” he says.

“What happened?” I ask.

“You subconsciously called me too you when he attacked you.  When we got there he was leaning over your body.  He saw us and ran off and we brought you back here” he explains.  Scarlet and Ivy stir in the corner.  I hug Seth.

“I was so scared he’d killed you” Seth says hugging me tighter.  “I want to protect you and never let anything like that happen again.  I think I love you”

“I love you too Seth” I say.  I hear a bunch of ‘awws’ come from the corner.  I look over at my friends and roll my eyes. “Well I better get breakfast on the go” I say.

“Yeah you should probably eat you haven’t in a few days” Ivy says. 

“How long have I been out?” I ask.

“About 4 days and the humans are showing signs of hostility” Scarlet says.  I stand up quickly.  I start swaying and Seth wraps him arms around my waist.

“Steady there” he says.

“I’ll make the food you sit down and rest” Ivy says.

“I should be saying that to you, you’re the pregnant one” I say.

“Only a month to go!” she says excitedly.  Shifters have a shorter gestation period because of our wolf side.  It’s only about two to three months depending on the Shifter.

“Fine I’ll make it then, I hope you all like toast and eggs” Scarlet says.  We all agree and she disappeared into the kitchen.  A few minutes later all of us are stuffing our faces. 

“What did I miss while I was out?” I ask between bites.

“Not much” Scarlet says.  Summer starts crying.

“Rin and Ian are fighting again” she confesses.  A new anger awakens inside me.  I stand up my food forgotten.  I walk down stairs.  I grab Rin’s sleeping form and shake it.

“What do you- oh, your awake” Rin says “I guess the wolfs bane didn’t last as long” I stop.

“Wolfs bane?” I ask hesitantly.

“Yeah that needle was full of it and you were almost dead by the time they got you back” Rin says.

“Stop it!” I call “Your hurting Summer more then you know when you and Ian fight.  It’s killing her and it’s your fault either except her and her mate or get out of her life before I make you” I say.  I drop him and walk upstairs.  I throw open the front door.  I storm out of the house and cast my senses.  I find Ian and pull him towards me.  A moment later he appears from behind one of the houses.  I march towards him.  I grab the collar of his shirt and pulled his face towards mine.

“If you ever upset my Summer again I can promise that you will never have children” I say.  He raises his arms and tries to back away.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about” he says.

“That’s it” I say.  I grab his ear with my other hand.  I let go of his shirt and dig my nail into his ear and start marching away.  I drag him with me back into the house.
