Chapter 4

 Kelly P.O.V.

I take a deep breath.  I sit down on the grass.  I look out over the cliff.  I push the sad memories to the back of my mind before they attack.  I sense a presence.  I look around and see no one behind me.  I glance off into the flat grass on the other side.  I see a flicker in the grass.  I close my eyes and cast spirit.  A dark brown wolf flashes in my mind.  I open my eyes and stand up. 

“Come out!” I call. The dark figure emerges from the grass.  I stare directly into his brown eyes.  A growl erupts from his throat. 

“Shift” I demand.  The wolf disappears.  A man steps out of the grass. 

“I am Logan.  I bring a message from the Dark Sky Clan” he says.  He bows and throws a letter over the four meter gap.  “I must leave.  Till next time, Emprise” he says and bows again.  He Shifts and disappears into the tall grass.  I pick up the letter.  I shove it in my bra and walk back to the village. 

I walk in through the back door.  I walk into the living room and sit on the couch.  I pull the letter out and begin reading.

Dear Kelly,

I have been watching you and your Clan for some time now.  It has come to my attention that you’re having some human troubles.  My Clan and I would like to offer you our assistance.  All you have to do is come to me.  Of course you will have to do a few things to prove your loyalties but they’ll be easy.  If you wish to save your Clan I’d recommend meeting me at the eastern edge of your territory at noon tomorrow.

“What’cha got there?” Summer says as she walks in the house. 

“A letter” I say quickly.  She grabs for it and I stuff it back in my bra. 

“I’ll go get that” she says.

“I know you will” I say.  I run up the stairs with her hot on my heels.  I quickly close my office door and I feel a thud.  I flick the lock.  I sit at my desk and open my laptop.

“That’s not fair!” I hear her call from the other side of the door.  I chuckle as she storms down the stairs.  I open the window.  I stick my head out and cast my senses.  I find Scarlet’s aura and concentrate on it.  ‘Come home’ I send her. I leave the window open and sit back down in my chair.  I pick up the phone and call Ivy.

“Hello?” I hear a gruff voice ask.

“It’s Kelly I need Ivy” I say to Blake.  Blake and Ivy got married last year with a little help from Summer. 

“What’s up?” Ivy asks.

“I need to discuss something in our meeting room” I say and hang up.  I walk down stairs with the letter in hand.  Only Rin, Ivy and I know about our meeting room.  Rin had found the room after a few months of living in our basement.  He told me about it when I became Clan Leader.  I walk into the small sound proof room and sit at the table.  I pull the chart down.  For the past year Ivy, Rin and I have been using it as a special meeting room to discuss secret matters.

“I’m here” Ivy announces.  She and Rin sit in the chairs opposite mine. 

“I was out this morning” I begin “when a wolf approached me.  He Shifted, stated his name handed me a letter” I toss the letter on the table.  I cross my arms and let them read. 

“Are you going?” Ivy asks handing the letter to Rin.

“I don’t know” I say honestly.

“I say go” Rin says “Just to see if they can be any use to us”
