Chapter 17

I awoke with a start as I feel a hand slid across my shoulder. I look around and I'm alone in the cell I was cleaning last night. I glance behind me and I see a body lying as still as can be. Did I miss a dead body? The figure looks familiar as he breaths in and out. At least he's alive. But who is he and how did he get here?

"Your awake" I hear an all to familiar voice say from behind me. I turn and glare at Rin. "He's been here all night. I think he missed you while you were gone" I look back at the male with softened eyes. I had almost forgotten about him. I touch his shoulder.

"Kalvin" I whisper as he stirs. He looks at me with simple blueish-grey eyes.

"I though you were dead" he says throwing himself onto me in a hug. "I felt your sadness and pain and then nothing. I found your scent and made it down here" he pulls away quickly "you smell different. Your mated" the horror and betrayal in his eyes only furthered my guilt.

"I-I had to" I stutter "it was either that or we all die in there" he turns away.

"Scarlet" he says defeated "I... I don't know what to do. I need a moment" he says standing.

"Kalvin we can get through this just don't tell the others I'm here" I say jumping up.

"Whatever" he mumbles as he takes the stairs two at a time.

"You okay?" Rin asks and I jump. I had forgotten he was here.

"Fine" I say turning away. I feel his cool hands rest on my shoulders.

"You know what would make us both feel better?" he asks as he moved his lips to my ear. "just one bite, just a taste of your delicious powerful blood" I don't turn and run, nor try to fight him. I lean into his embrace and tilt my head to the side. I feel a sharp pain as his fangs penetrate my flesh sinking into my neck. I feel myself relax as the pain turns to pleasure. One of his hands begins it's decent from my head down the front on my body and sliding down my belly.

'You know being my blood slave means you get more then just the. Loos sucked out of you' Rin's voice says in my head.

"No" I whisper. Just as I feel as best as I think I ever will Rin's fangs leave my neck. He licks the wound clean and it heals quickly.

"Maybe next time" he says as wipes my blood off of him mouth. He tosses me an apple and a juice box. What we may be almost twenty but we still drink juice boxes. Rin walks out and I munch on the apple. I look around and decide to do something risky. I stand and walk out of the cell I fell asleep in and opened Kelly's cell making sure she's asleep. I strip and Shift into my black wolf. I curl up next to Kelly in hopes that when she wakes it will help her calm down and remember. I watch the door until I feel myself slipping from conciseness.

"Wolf" I hear I voice say almost panicking yet it sounds comforted and relaxed at the same time. I open my eyes and look up at Kelly who is now cowering in the corner in an attempt to get away. I lower my head towards her and lay on the ground in submission. Her face changes as she sees my clothes in the opposite corner. She screams and attacks me. I hold my ground as she lands on my back. I Shift back into my human form as she begins to tug on my fur.

"Kelly" I whisper as I slowly stand up. "This is what you are and what I'm going to help you get back to being like this if it's the last thing I do" I shift back and curl up in the middle of the room. I hear her shuffle around and poke my side.

"Wolf?" she says poking me again as though she expects me to attack her. I Shift my vocal cords back.

"No I am Scarlet" I say closing my eyes.
