Chapter 1

Walk into my meeting room and sit on the table. The humans have been cooking up something. Ever since I mastered all of the elements more and more humans are becoming a problem. Humans have found our territory and some have seen us as wolves. We have killed most of them that saw us but some got away. It's time I called in reinforcements. I have hired one of the best assassin in this country.

My Beta, Ivy, walks in the room escorting the assassin in. They both sit in the chairs opposite me. The assassin is dressed in black pants and a leather jacket with large dark shades.

"What's my job?" She asks right off the bat.

"We have a human problem" I say.

"What kind?" She asks.

"Kill all humans that cross the border into this territory" I say.

"How long are my services needed?" she asks.

"As long as it takes to stop them, so a month or two" I estimate.

"For that I'd usually charge about thirty three hundred thousand dollars" She says.

"That can be arranged" I say "Come with me" I stand and walk towards the Great Oak.

"Where are we going?" She asks.

"To announce you arrival to the Clan" I say "What do you wish to for them to call you?" I ask.

"Scarlet" she says. We walk to the Great Oak.

"All Shifters gather under the Great Oak" I call to the Clan. I watch as they gather under the tree. I climb up to with Scarlet and Ivy. I stand before my Clan.

"I have called you here to address the human problem" I say to the Clan "I was raised as a human so I know that whatever they don't understand they destroy. I will not allow that to happen to this Clan! I have hired an assassin to take care of any human to cross into our territory" I introduce. Scarlet comes to stand beside me "You will address her as Scarlet; she will stay in the Leaders house. I expect you treat her with the upmost respect" I say.

"Thank you for helping us in our time of need" Ivy says.

"Thank you for requesting my services" Scarlet replies.

"Shifters of the Maplewood Clan you may go back to your daily routine" I dismiss the Clan and climb down the tree. I lead Scarlet back to my house.

"Okay you'll be staying in our guest room; you can come and go as you please. Oh I'm forgetting something" I say as I wonder out of the room.

"Is there anyone else staying here?" Scarlet asks.

"Oh that's it. Thanks I'm a little scatterbrained at times. Summer our weapons teacher is living here with her mate and her Beloved. So sometimes things can get a little noisy" I say.

"Well, I better unpack" she says as she walks up the stairs.

"Wait" I call, silly me I forgot to tell her which room it is. I walk up the stairs glancing in the rooms as I go. I come to the guest room to find Scarlet unpacking.

"Do you need something?" Scarlet asks.

"I forgot to tell you where your room way but I guess you found it" I explain awkwardly.

"Well if that is all I best be off now" she says as she jumps out the window. I walk back down stairs. 'Hmm, what to cook for dinner?' I wonder. I decide on a classic Shepard's pie. I begin cooking the meat when I hear the front door slam.

"I hate having two mates!" Summer says as she walks into the kitchen.

"That's funny, most people would kill to be in your position" I laugh. I'll admit I am a little jealous of Summer but only on this matter.
