The Captain

Marinette's POV

I did the forbidden. I went to the surface. It wasn't my first time to the surface but it was the first time I got caught. All my family and friends would be so worried. Oh and then there is Tikki. She would be so worried. And she told me not to go. Tikki was like part of the family to me. She was always kind, looked after me and supported me and I straight up disobeyed her. Great going Marinette!

But I couldn't help it. I was drawn to the ship. I had to see if for my self and I paid the price. After they took me out of the netting they put me in this cage type thing. It was way to small and my tail was all scrunched up. It was very uncomfortable.

Then there was the Captain. He was very handsome at first glance. He had bright golden locks that shimmered in the sun light. He was tall and lean but seemed to be muscular. His eyes where emerald green and I found my self getting lost in them. But the captain did seem to get full of him self. He wanted me for money and had a horrible knack for making puns. I've heard the stories of the ship Chat Noir, but never would have known I would first hand experience it. Right now I was huddled in a corner on the top deck near the captains wheel. I kept banging on the bars trying to break free. But the real reason was to annoy the captain. And it seemed to have worked. "Would you keep it down!" He shouted.

I glared at him "No."

That's when a man came over to me and splashed a bucket of water on me.

"What was that for!" I shouted at the man.
But the captain replied, " I thought mermaids needed water to survive?"
"Yes that is true but if I'm dry long enough I can go into a more useful form. Like you said your self I'm a miraculous mermaid. There still things you don't know about me." I sneered.
He laughed. "I see. Since you are going to be on my ship for a while, it's best I know your name."
"Why do you want to know? " I questioned
"Like you said your self there are things I don't know about you and your name is one of them. Or would you rather me a address you as purrincess?" He gave a smirk and wiggled his eye brow.
"Ugh you are very annoying. But I rather you not call me that pun name." I replied.
"You will warm up to it soon enough" . Said the captain.
"Fine."I replied, "my name is Marinette." 

Adrien's POV

Marinette. The name was quite beautiful. I never heard it before. It fit the the mermaid perfectly.

I replied, "nice to meet you Marinette, I'm Adrien."

She nodded. "I know who you are. I've heard the stories. The son of Commodore Gabriel I suppose."

One thing was clear. This mermaid knew her stuff.

"You are correct." I replied. It was true. My father was the most famous Commodore of the Caribbean island Parisana. He was best known for his ship designing and that is where he gained all his riches. And I happened to be his son. He barley noticed me. He gave me this ship for my 16th birthday and I have been on it ever since, occasionally stoping at ports.

"So where are you even taking me?" Asked Marinette. "The Mansion" I relied.
Her eyes widened. "What! You mean to Hawkmoth!?" She screeched
"The one and only I replied.
"What? You can't take me there! He has taken and hurt many of my people. He will kill me!" Said Marinette with a worried look.
"Quit being dramatic! No he won't. I've worked with Hawkmoth once before and he just puts you up in one of his exhibits, and we get the money for it." I replied

"Yes maybe for regular mermaids! But I'm a miraculous mermaid! He will skin me to the bone! He will kill me! Please don't take me there." Begged Marinette. I rolled my eyes. She was lying it's what mermaids do to get there way. They were known for drowning sailors and pirates. They were vicious creatures "Whatever." I said and walked away.

I walked over to Nino. "How much time till we arrive at the Mansion." I asked. "Well from the looks of it cap it will take 2 weeks with a straight shot but if we need to stop for food and supplies in different ports it will be about 3 to 4 weeks max." Replied Nino.

Great,  I was going to be stuck with this pesky mermaid for a month. Just my luck.
"Thank you for the update Nino." I said and walked away.

It was dinner time and me and my crew made out way to the dinning hall. It wasn't 5 star hotel food but it was good food. Good old home cooked food. There were apples, fish, pie, mashed potatoes, bread, and of course Camembert for a certain first mate. "Adrien?" I turned to see my first mate. "I think you should take some dinner up to the mermaid. She hasn't eaten in about a day." Said Plagg.
I groaned and gave in. I grabbed an apple some mashed potatoes, a piece of bread and a slice of pie and put it on a plate for Marinette. I figured she wouldn't want fish, since you know, being a mermaid and all. I made my way up the stairs to see her on the top deck, still in the cage, all alone looking at the stars.

"Like the view?" I asked. She jumped from being startled and turned to me.
"You see these every night?" She asked pointing to the sky.
"Yep. They are called stars. I come up here every so often to star gaze. It calms me down."  I replied. She nodded her head and looked back up at them. In the moment Marinette looked beautiful. she was almost completely dry and her hair swayed with the wind. Her tail moving back and forth. Her eyes where as bright as the stars she was gazing at. They were full of wonder and curiosity. What are you thinking Adrien?!?!

I put those thoughts aside and set the plate in the cage. "Here's dinner Mari." I said. She eyed me up and down. "Mari?" She asked. "I figured you would like the nickname better than purrincess. She giggled a little but didn't touch the food. "What? I didn't poison it." I stated.
"I know you didn't but I've never had this type of food before. Human food." Said Marinette.

I was a little surprised by what she said but it made sense. "Try the pie! it's delicious." I said. She nodded and hesitantly took a bite. Her eyes lit up and she smiled. She then dug into all the food. Eating every last bit. "Well I'll be off. See you in the morning Mari." And with that I walked back below decks.

Marinette POV

Adrien walked back below backs leaving me with and almost empty plate of food. The food really was delicious. Especially the pie. Not as good as back home but different enough to where it was good. Over all human food was acceptable. Adrien also called me Mari, which was a nickname no one has ever called me. It was different and he was right I did like it better than purrincess. Adrien was different. He was actually nice to me. He told me something about him self and the lights in the sky. Stars he called them.

But he also had me locked in this cage and was selling me to Hawkmoth. This was not going to be a pleasant trip.
