Smooth Sailing

Shocked

Marinette's POV

"Oh no." Whispered Tikki looking up toward the sky. A dark shadow downcast over the coral reef. And giant iron anchor dropped from above and landed right into my parents bakery crushing it to large shards of debris. "Mama! Papa!" I screamed as I frantically swam over to my demolished home. I heard some coughing and moved some large pieces of coral out of the way. I sighed with relief. There my parents were a little dusty but mostly unharmed. "Don't worry. We are okay Marinette." Said my mother.

I helped my mother and father out of the rubble. Tikki swam over to my family. "Marinette! We need to get out of here!" Said Tikki to me. "What? No! I'm not leaving my parents and these innocent people." I stated.  "You don't understand!" She replied. Tikki gave me a look but sighed knowing she couldn't change my mind. Then a voiced echoed from the ship above. "Hello my fellow merfolk. I don't think we have properly met." Said a voice evilly. Tikki gave a grimace, "it's Hawkmoth." She mumbled. And as if right on cue, "I am Hawkmoth, and I've heard about this magical grotto full of mermaids. And I've heard you have a certain miraculous one. Maybe even two." Said the voice. Tikki and I exchanged a look. Then I looked over at my parents who seemed very worried. "There is a certain captain that I think would be very interested in my catch." A certain captain? I thought, Adrien?
"So we will be taking what we want and then just get out of your hair." Said Hawkmoth with an evil laugh.

An electric shock erupted from the boat shooting toward Tikki. "Tikki! Look out!" I shouted. I swam over and shoved her out of the way with all my strength. The shock hit me instead. "Aagghhhh" I screamed. The shocked ran through my body, contracting every one of my muscles. The pain was in bearable. "Ugh." I groaned. "Marinette!" Screamed Tikki. "Are you all right?! Marinette don't doze off. Stay with me!" Shouted Tikki. She looked toward the ship. "You're going to pay Hawkmoth!" Shouted Tikki. Another shock came from the ship and hit Tikki head on. No. She screamed in pain. When I thought it couldn't get any worse, a net extended from the ship engulfing Tikki and I into it. We were trapped. And I was captured once again, by another pirate.
"Marinette! No!" Screamed my parents reaching for me, As the net started to lift up out of the sea.

With a splash Tikki and I were above water and thrown on deck. We both groaned still in pain. A few of Hawkmoth's men viciously threw us out of the net and we rolled over the wooden floor. Two men grabbed me and Tikki by the wrists pulling us over to the sail. "Hey! Let go of me!" I shouted wiggling around trying to loosen his grip. "Shut up!" Said another man and punched me square in the gut. It was such a surprise and it hurt like hell. I coughed eventually coughing up a little blood. With that I didn't struggle anymore. I looked over at Tikki and she was dozing in an out of unconsciousness. That shock must had done a number on her.

The Akumas threw us into a cage that has half way filled with water. They grabbed our hands and tied it to the railing above my head. Only my tail was in the water along with Tikki's. By now she was out cold. Which was probably for the best. A tall slender man with his face hidden by a mask walked our way.

"Hello Marinette. I'm Hawkmoth." Said the man. "And welcome aboard The Nooroo"
"How do you know my name?" I questioned. "Captain Agreste talked about you a lot." Said Hawkmoth with an evil grin. "Adrien? He sent you to do this!?" I yelled with anger. "Oh deary you got it all wrong. He wanted to protect you. But I didn't agree with that." He replied. "Adrien wanted to protect me? But he hates me!" I stated. Hawkmoth laughed. "You oblivious girl. I think it's the complete opposite. He was only mean to you to get you to go away because he knew you wouldn't on your own. You're simply to nice. Plus he knew I was after you. Quite clever isn't it?" Smiled Hawkmoth. I felt like such a fool. He did this all to protect me?

"But now thanks to him I had enough money to capture you!" Laughed Hawkmoth. I had enough. I spit in his face. "Your despicable!" I whispered to him. He grabbed me by the chin and yelled in my face, "Don't play with me girl! You are on very thin ice." With that he slapped me. "Now that I have you in my hands, we can go kill your little sweetheart right in front of you eyes." Said Hawkmoth walking away. "What! No! You can't! You're insane!" I screamed in protest.

"Now time to go to sleep little mermaid." Said one of his Akumas. He put a rag over my mouth and I inhaled and wiggled trying to break free. But it was no use. My eyelids started to feel heavy and darkness took over. I couldn't breath.

Adrien was going to die. And It was going to be all my fault.
