Adrien POV

It was a cool, crisp morning out at sea on board the Chat Noir. The crew was hardy at work swabbing the deck, and working on the sails.  and I was at the wheel. Over looking everything. I looked to my right to see the mermaid in the cage still fast asleep. Her tail fin still in a awkward position due to the size of the cage and her hair swayed with the wind. She looked peaceful. Worry and stress free. In her own little world where life was perfect. She then stretched her arms above her head and yawned. "Enjoying the view Cap?" Said Marinette with a smirk.

"Uh no. It's quite horrid actually." I replied  "wow I'm surprised you are actually talking to your prisoner. You know being a pirate captain and all. I though you would be more ruthless. I'm surprised you didn't kill me yet." Said The mermaid. Marinette was right. She has been pretty annoying this past week. And there are times when I have almost given up and thrown her over board. She was Always in my ear about how I should run my ship. Calling me nick names like "kitty" and "rich boy." Always banging on the bars and giving me head aches that hurt like hell. "Are all mermaids annoying like you?" I asked. "Only when we want to be." Said Marinette with a cheesy smile. "And you know, when you take them hostage!" She yelled. I rolled my eye. "Just think as you helping us. I know that hard to wrap you head around for a shallow mermaid like you." She rolled her eyes and gave me a disgusted face. "Well at least I have enough money so I can survive. I thought your daddy was Rich pretty boy. To scared to ask daddy for money?" Said Marinette giving a fake pouty face. I turned around." When do you turn into that more useful form anyway?" I asked.

She shrugged "I don't know when I will change. it just happens." She states. And if on cue a bright pink flash emits from the mermaid. It quickly grabs the attention of the crew and everyone is huddle around her cage. The light dies down and her tail is now gone. Two pale elegant legs took its place and the scales on her chest are now gone. Marinette huddles in the corner trying to cover her self as best as she can. She was nude after all. The the men of the crew where dumbfounded by what they just witnessed. "Uh A-Adrien? Can I have some clothes to cover up please?" Asked Marinette. I snapped out of my gaze and yelled, "Men advert you eyes! show the lady some respect you filthy hogs!" They all scampered away getting back to work and closing there eyes.

"I'll be right back with some clothes Mari." I said and I quickly ran below deck to the captains quarters and pulled out one of my simple white shirts and the smallest pair of pants I could find. I ran back up on deck and gave Marinette the clothes. "Thank you." she whispered and quickly changed into the garments. The shirt was baggy on her but covered her and ran to her mid thigh. The pants where also very large but she rolled them up to her knees. "The next port we go to we will get you some clothes." I state.  she nods. Why did I offer to get her clothes. We are low on money as it is! "Thank you Adrien. You didn't have to do that." Said Marinette. I turned to her and gave her a warm smile. "Believe me, if I was in your shoes I would want some clothes too." I replied. She laughed and I went back to my work.

"Cap! Can I have a word?" Said my first mate. I walked over to him to the center of the vessel. "What is it Plagg?" I asked. "Seems to me that you fancy the mermaid. Maybe just a little." I was taken back my his statement. I scoffed. "Yeah right. In your dreams Plagg." "I'm only state facts." he replied snickering. I rolled my eyes. "Whatever. Now stop eating cheese and get back to work." I yelled at him. Me like a mermaid? An annoying on for that matter. As if!

Marinette POV

I turned into the other form. I've never been in my other form. It was kind of weird. But I felt alive and I was finally human. One of them.  Adrien gave me some clothes. He didn't have to do that. I thought he would just leave me naked and he humiliated after all the bicker we did to eachother. After all I am his prisoner. And I'm still in this cage.

The sun had set and the star had come out once again. I was staring at them. Having nothing else to do as I sat on the top deck alone. "Here's your dinner." Said a familiar voice. I turned around to see Adrien with a white plate. He set it down in my cage. I didn't touch it. "I miss them." I said. "Miss who?" He asked curiously. "My parents. My home." I replied. It has been about a week since I last seen them and it was getting to me. "I'm sorry Mari. But at least you have someone to miss." Adrien stated. I was confused by the statement, "what do you mean?"

"You have a family, a home. People who love you. My mom died when I was young and my dad is dead to me." I never knew that about him. I had a shocked  expression on my face and Adrien must have noticed. He laughed a little. "But you father is not dead. You are like his protégé. Every know about the great Commodore's son." I state. "Yeah but he is dead to me." Said Adrien looking at his boots. I let him speak, " ever since my mom died he's changed. He's become colder and heartless. He doesn't even notice me anymore. This ship was the greatest thing he's given me. It gave me a way to escape my home life." Said Adrien. "No one loves me anymore."

With that a single tear left his cheek. I spoke up, "Look Adrien, I may not know much about you but from what I've seen you have a family. This ship is you home. You crew adores you. They look up to their captain. That boy Nino, he is like you brother he's got you back and he's your best friend. And Plagg. It may not look like it, but I can see he cares for you, like you are his own some. He may not show it but I can see deep in his eyes that he truly cares. "From what I see Adrien, you have a home." I smiled.

He looked up at me with a sad smile. "I though you where just an annoying mermaid. Who knew you where so wise." Said Adrien. "And I though you were just a shallow captain. I guess we were both wrong." I state with a smile. He laughs. "Finish you food and get some rest Mari." He said and walked away. "Aye aye Captain!" I replied. He turned back around to look at me, "and thank you Mari... For everything."

I smiled "no problem."

Maybe Adrien wasn't so bad after all. Maybe he was just a little lost. Maybe I could help him. Don't get me wrong, I still hate the guy with a burning passion, but maybe I don't want to escape just quite yet.

A/N: another one down! Hope you liked it. I tried to make it where Adrien and Mari hate each other a little bit. So hopefully that got the point across. Also sorry for errors. Don't for get to vote or comment! Thanks for reading!
