Marinette's POV

Ugh. Everything hurt. My head throbbed and my arms felt limp. My body swayed with the rocking of the ship.

Wait what!?! The ship is rocking!?! We left already! I didn't even get to say bye to Alya! I slowly got up, not wanting the do anymore damage to my already beat body. I looked down to see new bandages on my wounds.

Wait? Who did that? Oh yeah Alya. Thank god for best friends! I slowly limped my way out of my room and down the wooden corridor. I leaned against the wall for support. I made my way up the stairs and onto the top deck. The sails where flapping against the ocean breeze. Oh How I missed the ocean. The sun was already starting to set, creating a beautiful sun set.

Dang. How long have I been out?

Alya was the first to spot me. "Marinette! You're awake!" She engulfed me into a hug. "Nino came scurrying over along with Plagg. "Mari! How you feeling?" Asked Nino. I laughed a little. "I've been better." I replied. Adrien must have heard all the commotion and walked over. "Marinette!" He said, "your up!" I nodded and nearly fell over. I grabbed on to the rail for support. "And you can barley stand! You should be resting!" He said with concern in his voice. "Adrien, I'm fine. I'm a big girl." I relied. He made his way over to me and put my arm over his shoulder and his arm around my waist hoisting me up to walk. "Nathaniel said dinner is almost ready. Let's head down to the dinning hall." Said Adrien. I nodded and the group of us headed to dinner. It was very lively. The crew where clanking beer cans filled with Alya's signature brew. Nathaniel was in the Kitchen cooking who knows what but it sure smelled good. He started bringing out the food and the crew dug in the next second.

Alya seemed to be enjoying herself. She was laughing along with drinking her beer and every so often exchanging nervous glances with Nino. I laughed and put some, mashed potatoes, pork, corn, an apple, and some green beans on my plate. Everything was delicious. Nathaniel was quite the cook. Everyone started dispersing, wishing me get well soons as they passed by. I finally got up my self and made my way to the top deck to look at the starts. When I returned to my home I would miss the starts very much.

I heard footsteps and looked over to see my best friend, Alya. "What's up girl!" She said "hey Alya." I smiled. "I was surprised to see you were still on the ship." I said. She nodded. "Yeah I tavern is run by my many siblings. The second oldest to be exact. But I needed to get out, try something new. I already moved out of my parents house so this wasn't a hard goodbye. You know how I wanted to go on adventures! And now that I know my best friend is a freaking mermaid!!! I had to get to know her more." She said. I giggled and smiled.

"So there wasn't a certain love interest that swayed you decision." I replied. Her cheeks turned a shade of pink and I laughed. "No." She whispered. "Not even a little?" I asked. "You're  unbelievable Marinette." Said Alya rolling her eyes. "Well I do get that a lot. You know, being a mermaid and all." I said. Alya rolled her eyes and gave an agitated sigh, "well it's way to late for your sarcasm. I'm off to bed." She said. "You coming with?" She asked. I nodded my head no, "I'm going to stay out here a little longer and enjoy the stars." She nodded and went below deck.

Now it was just me and my thoughts. The stars where amazing and every so often I could pick out little shapes with in them. My mother used to tell me stories of great heroes that danced in the stars. She also used to tell me of other mermaid like myself. Miraculous Mermaids. They were very rare and from my understanding. There where only a few in the world and I was the only one in the region of Parisana. There was a song about them. It was a lullaby my mother used to sing to me. So I started to sing...
