Leaving

Marinette's POV

I dove into the raging sea. The waves twirled around me and my new tail. It was good to be back. My scales on my chest were back and my blue/black hair was back down over my shoulders. I poked my head above the raging waves. Water sprayed me in the face and swayed me in the ocean. The waves raised me up and down and sometimes pulling me down to the ocean floor. It didn't effect me considering me being a mermaid, but it made search for Plagg one hundred times harder.

There just a little ways away was a sinking Plagg. He was coughing harshly and waving his arms trying to stay level with ocean surface breathing in air. The next second I dove into the water and flapped my tail trying to get to him. I was quite powerful in the ocean. I got to Plagg just in time. He was now unconscious and slowly sinking below the waves. Almost fully submerged. I grabbed his arm and hoisted him up. I paddled my tail trying to keep me from sinking too. I looked up to the ship and saw a line of men looking over the railing. A few ropes were thrown into the ocean. I grabbed two. I tied one around Plagg and i, the other I held on for dear life.

We slowly started to be pulled from the ocean and storm current. Wind rushed by my face telling me the storm was still going on strong. We almost were up to the railing of the ship. "Heave men! Heave!" Shouted a few pirates. We toppled onto the top deck. the knot came loose and me and Plagg were no longer bound together. The storm started to let up. I laid my back to the top deck and took deep breaths, in and out. It was a daring rescue and took a lot of my energy. It was more tiring then it looked. Plagg rolled over and coughed up some water. He to took deep breaths. The wind died down and now it was just a steady rain.

"Marinette!" Yelled a voice. It was Alya, "don't scare me like that! I see you helping Plagg with the sail and the next thing I know you're jumping over board!" I laughed at her comment. "I'm a mermaid Alya," I said gesturing to my tail, "I know how to swim. And besides I couldn't just let him drown. I had to take the risk!" I replied. "That's my Mari. Selfless as ever." She said. I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Oh and by the way, you tail is beautifully amazing girl!" Shouted Alya with wide eyes. I beamed. A pink glow engulfed me once again and I retired to my human form. My clothes were soaked, along with my hair. Nino rushed to my side. "Dude! Are you alright! Mari that was sure an act of bravery!" Said Nino. The crew chimed in giving nods and good jobs. Much of the crew surrounded Plagg making sure he was alright considering he was one of their own.

Adrien walked over to my side. Which honestly surprised me considering how he has been acting. He offered me his arm and hoisted me up on to my feet. He glanced at me though the corner of his eye and then looked straight ahead. "You alright?" He asked in a monotone voice. I nodded, "yeah I'm good. Just a little winded." "Well don't ever do it again." Adrien stated. "What?" I asked clearly confused on his previous remark. "You heard what I said. You where supposed to help Plagg with the rope. And then you send him over board? You should have held on to the rope tighter." He said glaring at me. All I could do was stare at him. I was totally confused not to mention a little shocked. "Wha- ? but Adrien I was helping Plagg. I saved his life!" I replied. "Well you were the one that put it at risk in the first place." Said Adrien. "Well in my defense it was really windy to try and keep that sail steady. I didn't mean to put Plagg at risk I was trying to help him!" I said trying to get through to Adrien's brain. "Well clearly you didn't!" Yelled Adrien pointing to Plagg. "But I-" started , Plagg cut in, "Adrien! It was an honest mistake. I owe my life to Marinette. It look a lot of bravery to do what she just did." Adrien turned around completely. His back facing us, "yeah whatever, just don't screw up again Marinette. Next time we won't be so lucky." He stated and stormed off to the ships wheel.

I couldn't help it now. Tears brimmed my eyes. I was so confused and so frustrated! The tears came faster. The crew couldn't see me like this. I ran off below deck to my room. "Marinette wait!" Yelled Alya trying to stop me, but I was to quick.

I entered my tiny room and fell onto my bed crying silent tears. I couldn't hold it in any more. First Adrien saves me from those Akumas, leads me on, makes me fall for him and now he just blows me off? And now practically despises be and acts like a complete jerk. I was saddened. These last few weeks have been rough. I was homesick and tried . I missed my home and family. Being back in the water. Back with my tail! I cried more. It was a continuous flow. I couldn't stand being here any more. One thing was for sure. I was leaving tomorrow.
