Adrien's POV

Why? Why did I have to do it? Why did it come to this? Why did I have to be such a jerk? Why did I have to hurt her? Why did I have to break her heart? And break mine in the process? But I had to do it. Because I loved her to much. I finally let my self see my true feelings.

I am in love with Marinette.

I know she wouldn't just leave the ship on her own. We now had plenty of money because of her, but she wouldn't believe that. So I had to get her off the ship somehow. And the only way I could think to do that, was to make her want to leave. So I had to be mean to her. Make her feel worthless and like a piece of crap. And it broke my heart every time I did it. To see her face. Her beautiful face, so confused and in pain, it broke me, but in the long run it would protect her. She would be safe. The rain had now stopped and Marinette was probably in her run crying.....because of me.

Hawkmoth knew she was on the Chat Noir. So I had to get her off. It was the only way to ensure her safety.

Nino ran up to me. My face expressionless. "What the hell Adrien!!! What the hell was that for?!?" Yelled Nino. "What do you mean?" I asked. I had to keep the act going. "What do you mean!! You know what I mean!! You totally blew off Marinette and she helped all of us! How could you be so cruel?" Asked Nino. My face started straight ahead. "I don't know what you mean. I've always been like this." I said in a monotone voice. Nino shook his head, "My best friend Adrien has never been like that. And I want the old one back." Said Nino turning away. I hung my head, "I'll be back. I'm going to the Captains quarters." I whispered and walked below deck.

I entered my room and took out and old book. It was an ancient book that consisted of magical origins and facts about ancient beings. But a if you open it to a certain page it can be a communication device. So I opened the book. To page 373. And magic dust came from the book and a screen appeared before my eyes. Then a deep, booming voice erupted from it. "Well, well, well, if it's the famous captain of the infamous Chat Noir. Hello Adrien Agreste"

"Hello Hawkmoth. I'd like to propose a deal."

Marinette's POV

I was still in my small nook of a room. My eyes where puffy and my nose was a little runny. I heard a knock on my door. "Mari?" It's was Alya's concerned voice, "you've been in there for a while. Is everything okay?" I smiled at the worry of my best friend. "You can come in." I replied. She timidly opened the door and gave me a sad smile. "Hey girl. How you feeling?" She asked. I looked down at my toes, "I've been better." I replied. "Well I think I should whip some sense into that captain!" She practically yelled. "No Alya. That won't be necessary. I think I just got a little to carried away with my feelings. I was just wrong about a few things and over reacted." I said whopping the excess tears from my eyes.

"Marinette even if he didn't have feelings for you, Adrien wouldn't act like that." Alya replied. "Alya it's okay. Don't lie to me. Don't try and spare my feelings. I know how he truly feels and I've made my choice." "But Marinette! He likes-" I put my hand up signaling for her to stop. "I've made my decision. I'm leaving tonight. I want to go home. To see my family again." Tears pricked my eyes once again. Alya engulfed me in a hug and I let out a few silent sobs. I just want to go home.

"I respect your decision Marinette. If I were you I would miss my family too. Your have been through a lot lately. But you better promise not to forget about me! Cause I will always remember you." She said. I smiled, "don't worry Alya, it's pretty hard to forget a girl like you." She laughed. "So when are your leaving?" She asked with a sad smile. "I was thinking on later tonight when the crew is asleep." I replied. "But aren't you going to say good bye?" Asked Alya. "I don't know if I can bring my self to it. I would just break down again." I said once again looking at the floor boards. "Well my lips are sealed. I won't say a word until you are long on your way." Said Alya. "Thank you Alya."

Adrien's POV

"A deal? Last time I heard, you had a very valuable fish for grabs." Said the masked man. "Sorry but Marinette is not for sale. But that is where the deal comes into play." I said. "Oh so this magical creature has a name huh? You have my attention." Hawkmoth replied. "If you promise to leave the Miraculous Mermaid alone I will exchange with you 500,000 gold pieces." I stated eager to hear a reply. "I don't know Cap. That's an awfully small sum." He replied. "It would be horrible if something where to happen to that little mermaid of yours." He said with an evil grin. Damn. He's on to me.

"Fine. 700,000" I stated. He just created a motion with him raising his hand up. My brow creased in anger. The nerve of this guy. "900,000?" I asked. He created the same motion. "1,000,000 gold pieces and that is my biggest and final offer." I stated. "Well Mr. Agreste, it looks like we have a deal. Deliver the money to me on the night of the 3rd full moon at Charm rock.

Marinette's POV

Alya ran back into my room as quietly as she could. "I checked the navigation room, and according to Nino's maps, this is near the location where you were caught! So we are close to your home! " Alya exclaimed. I smiled. Okay good. I know this part of the ocean. It was probably around 3 o'clock in the morning. With the storm clouds still over head, it was hard to see the sunset, but after the energy put into making the ship still stand, everyone just called it a day. "Better late then never. Let's go." I said. She nodded. We passed the crews sleeping quarters and a variety oh snores where heard. They were fast asleep. Good. We passed Adrien's room not even giving it a second thought. We made it to the top deck. I looked over the railing and the waters had calmed down tremendously. I gave Alya one last hug. "I will miss you so much! I'm so glad I met you!" I said. She nodded, "me too!"

"Transform me!" I shouted. A pink glow engulfed me and I had my tail back. "I don't think I'm ever going to get over how cool that is ." Said Alya with a little laugh. She helped me onto the railing. "Well I will try to visit you if I'm ever near Port Bourgeois again or if a certain ship passes by." I said with a little wink. "Bye Marinette. Safe travels!" Said Alya. And with that I jumped into the dark ocean below.

Adrien's POV

It was early morning. Probably around 8 o'clock. the more I thought about it the more I felt guilty. I needed to apologize to Marinette. But I hope she hates me enough to still leave the ship. I went to the room where Alya and Marinette slept. I knocked quietly, "Marinette? Can I speak with you please?" The door nob wiggled and little and the door swung open. "Alya? Can I speak with Marinette please. Alya has puffy eyes. A sign that she was crying. What happened? She sniffled, "I'm sorry Adrien, but you to late. She's gone. She left...last night." She said.

"What? She left?" I asked very surprised. Alya nodded,"She missed home and she thought she was just extra space on the ship. She didn't feel needed anymore." Replied Alya, "so she jumped over board and swam away."

I just stood there in the door way. Astonished. What? She left? Already? And I didn't even get to say good bye. I know I will never see her again. the last image I have of her beautiful face is of her crying. "Okay thank you Alya." I replied in a monotone voice and walked away.

But now....she would be safe. And that alone, put me at peace.
