Marinette's POV

It was a pleasant morning. I slept absolutely wonderful considering as it was my first time not in the cage. The bed was the best I've ever slept on. I'm used to the ocean where you kind of just float around, but on the land it's way different.

But then I remembered. Her. Why did she have to come on board. She made my imprisonment 10 times worse! It's not the fact that she is all over Adrien, it's the fact that she thinks she is better than everyone else. Honestly I think she had the coldest and worst heart on this ship. But I've only known her for a day and maybe she just had a bad first impression on me.

I walked down the hall and heard the captain and Chloe doing who know what in the captains quarters.

"Some food would be good." I thought it would be a good idea. I mean Plagg let me sleep in a separate room. I was more like the crew then a prisoner. I walked down the wooden hallways, passing a few corridors.  I turned the corner into the kitchen and dinning room.

It contained one long rectangle table with about 9 or 10 chairs on each side. In the corner there was a little kitchen that contained, a stove and had a few cabinets with plates, silverware and pots & pans. "Mornin' Plagg!" I shouted as he sat in a chair reading sipping coffee and reading the latest issue of the newspaper. I sat across from him. "Mornin Mari! Sleep well?"

"Yes it was so comfy! Thanks so much for letting me stay I there!" I replied.
"It was my pleasure after all u have been through." I smiled. I went over to the kitchen and asked a boy with vibrant red hair for some eggs and coffee. He nodded and busily worked away preparing breakfast for the crew. It was still early and the sun was just about up. Not even Nino was awake yet.

Let's just say it was a long night for the crew with the new passenger on board. Preferably the one that was yellow. According to the crew gossip, Chloe was known for being a little bit of a scammer. Supposedly she had flings with other guys and was temporarily engaged to a young man called Nobleman Kim. Who ever that poor guy was. Probably the best for him honestly. Also I heard Chloe seemed to play with Adrien's heart in previous years. She would lead him on and then just leave and not show up. Plagg said Adrien handled it well and once he got his ship the Chat Noir he was as good as new.

I didn't believe it. I could see in Adrien's eyes there was pain and hurt. Like something was missing, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe the pain was from Chloe.... or maybe something else.

"Order up for the mermaid!" Said the red head with a smile. "Eggs and Coffee as you wished miss." I walked up to the counter. "Thank you, and your name is...?" I smiled

"Nathaniel" he blushed. I giggled a little. "Nice to meet you. In Marinette."

He nodded and smiled, "hope you enjoy your eggs." I walked back over to Plagg. Yet that's Nate. Joined the crew when he was fairly young. You can always find that kid drawing or doodling on the top deck. We call him 'tomato head' said Plagg. I laughed and heard a faint "shut up" from behind the kitchen counter.

Then if right on cue the couple of the hour walked in.

Great.

They stumbled in hand and hand with smiles on their faces. Plagg made a grunt of disappointment and Nathaniel rolled his eyes. I just finish my eggs sipped my coffee and walked out. I did not want to see Adrien. It was to early in the morning to try and handle all that.

Plagg's POV

I read the paper while Marinette eat her meal. I really felt bad for the poor girl and honestly I don't know why she stayed. Maybe she liked the land or wanted to help us out and get some money and then try to escape? I don't know. But she had a heart of gold. I know that for sure. She saw Adrien and Chloe walk in and immediately looked away. As for Adrien, he looked happy. Generally happy. Marinette must have felt uncomfortable, and left the room to go who knows where.

But then I saw something that surprised me. As Marinette walked out Adrien's expression changed. He seemed sad, almost disappointed. And that was all on him. He cause that on himself. I could see in his eyes that he had an interest in the mermaid. Even if it was the slightest. But why wouldn't he. She was something else. Something you would never find again.

Adrien's POV

Ugh. I swear sometimes I have the best life and other times my life sucks! The only reason I let Chloe on the ship was to get Mari out of my freaking head! Everything I tried to do, sleep, eat, steer the ship, do chores, she would pop up again in my brain and my heart would ache. I can't have her. She has another life. She's a mermaid for god sakes. I just don't know what I'm going to do. There wasn't another person like Marinette. She was kind, sweet, beautiful. Oh what am I saying. She was just....miraculous.
