Marinette's POV

"Ugh." I groaned in pain. My head was throbbing and my wrists felt like they were on fire. My stomach didn't feel any better. a nasty bruise was starting to form. My senses were all foggy thanks to what ever was on that rag. I yanked on the ropes trying to break free. But it was no use. The ropes just ended up cutting my wrists even worse. Blood tricked down my arm. I splash in the water trying to break the box so I could get free. If I wasn't in any water I could transform and have a pair of legs. Then I could just climb out of this watery prison. Butt half my body was submerged.

"Marinette? Is that you?" I looked over to see Tikki slowly waking up. "Tikki! Oh thank god you're okay!" I said. She looked over at me and gave a soft smile, but then she noticed my wounds. Bruises dotted my body and streaks of blood covered my arms. "But you don't seem to be! Are you okay?" She asked frantically. "I'm fine Tikki don't worry about me. We need to worry about how we are going to get out of here!" I said splashing around, "I need to warn Adrien!"

"Marinette." She said. I didn't listen and splashed around. "Marinette. Marinette!" She yelled. The third time I finally listened and turned toward her. "It's no use. We are trapped. There is no hope in escaping. This is the ship that nearly captured me 20 years ago. This was the one Plagg warned me about. The ship of no escape." Said Tikki putting her head down in sadness.

"No. No! That can't be true! We have to get out of here. I have to warn him! I have to warn him!" I yelled "Warn who Marinette!?!" Yelled Tikki. I looked down tears pricked my eyes just wanting to over flow. "I-I have to warn Adrien." And just like that a damn broke inside of me. The tears flowed freely. "Adrien is going to die. Because of me. And I just have to sit here and watch. I can't do anything to help!" I said. "This Adrien...he is the captain of the ship you were captured on?" Asked Tikki. I nodded.

"Tikki.... I-I love him. I can't just let him die." I said. Thats when I realized I had accepted my feelings. I love Adrien Agreste. The pirate captain of the Chat Noir. The man I loved was a human. "I can't just let him die Tikki. Not like this. I care for him to much and I don't know what I would do with my self if he lost his life due to me." I cried. Tikki gave me a soft, sad smile. "Don't worry Marinette, we will get out of here...together and save that captain."

"No you won't!" Laughed a voice. I looked up to see a...girl? This was the first person that came to see us since we were tied up. And now that I realize it, we were in a totally different location. We were now below deck in stead of on the top deck. We were still in the glass box similar to the one I was first put in with Adrien, but now in a cold, dark small space.

"You will never escape Hawkmoth's grasp!" Shouted the woman. "Who the hell are you?!" I shouted. "Oh you don't recognize me? I'm Hawkmoth's first mate!" Said the girl stepping closer to us. She was fairly tall and was wearing long black boot with brown trousers and an amber corset with a white blouse underneath. She had an orange pirates hat to match the corset with a white feather sprouting from the side. She had a belt around her waist that held a long bladed sword. She had clear olive skin and long dark hair that flowed to her waist. It was in the strangest hairstyle I had ever seen. And to top it off, she had piercing hazel eyes.

"I don't think we have properly met. I'm Volpina. Pleasure to meet you." Said the first mate. "Well it's not a pleasure to me." I replied rudely. She immediately brought out her sword and touch it against my neck. "Don't cross me girl. One wrong move and you're dead." Said Volpina. I gulped.

"Well, now that I shut you up, I though I would explain somethings to you." She said. This box that you are in slowly drains your life force. In other words you are slowly going to die. Isn't it true that if you keep a mermaid in half water half air they die quicker?" Said Volpina. Me and Tikki exchanged a look. "Seeing your expression, I'm assuming I'm right." She giggled. There was not wrong answer, she was correct. "Knowing Hawkmoth, he wants all the miraculous. So he has to kill Captain Adrien just to get his. And to think I bet Adrien doesn't even know he has one." Said Volpina with false pity. "Wait." I whispered, "you're saying Adrien has a miraculous?" I questioned. "But that's impossible! It was lost centuries ago!" Said Tikki. "Afraid not. It's a simple trinket. It's a shame Hawkmoth has to kill his own son to get it. And since your miraculous is physically implanted in your body, we have to drain you life force slowly and painfully away." She giggled.

"So is that all you want from me?! My miraculous power?! So why don't you just kill me already!!!" I screamed. "Well how else are we going to get Captain Adrien's attention and lure him in. Harming the one he loves most seems to do the trick." She replied evilly. She pulled out her sword and slashed me across the chest. I screamed in agony. "Mind as well start now." Laughed Volpina leaving me and Tikki in our prison alone.

This was not good at all.
