24 - BABY

FAST FORWARD TO BABY DUE DATE

ALEXS POV

"Lachlan, oh shit."

I had the sensation of me peeing my pants and I looked down to see a puddle of something beneath me.

"LACHLAN WE NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!"

I waddled into the living room where Lachlan was sitting. Right as I made it to the couch, I felt a big pain going through my body and it hurt like hell.

Lachlan jumped off the couch, grabbed the keys and sprinted to the car. I followed close behind, well as closely as I could. Once I got to the car another pain ran through my body.

"Lachlan, it hurts."

He looked at me and tears began to form in his eyes. I should be the one crying, not him. I'm going through immense pain right now so he has no reason to be crying.

I took out my phone and called my mom, and Lachlan's parents who were in the U.S. visiting.

Lachlan pulled into the parking lot and he jumped out of the car and ran over to me. I could barely walk due to the pain I was in so Lachlan swooped me off my feet and carried me into the hospital.

"She's going into labor!" Lachlan said, still holding me.

A nurse brought Lachlan and I into a room, which I'm guessing was the baby birthing room.

"Oh my, she's dilated enough to start pushing," The nurse exclaimed.

"Lachlan, I swear to God if you leave me I will single handily throw you out the window."

"Hormones," The nurse explained giving me an empathetic look.

"Three, two, one."

The sound of a baby crying filled the room, interrupting the sound of Alex crying. I looked over at Alex who had sweat plastered all over her, but once she was the baby it's like something in her world changed.

"She's beautiful," Alex whispered.

"Just like her momma!"

Alex smiled for the first time in the hour and a half we were in the hospital. Luckily, she didn't end up killing me so I could finally breathe knowing I'd live another day.

"Where's my mom? Where's your mom? Hell, where are my friends?" Alex asked.

"I'll go get them."

Before I stepped out of the room I glanced at Alex who was still smiling at the baby and I honestly don't think she'll ever stop.

I walked into the waiting room, which was packed with people all here for Alex. My mom and Alex's mom were talking away about God knows what and all of Alex's friends, including Kian were talking in one corner. And surprisingly, my siblings decided to show up.

"If you don't mind I would like to interrupt all of you guys for a quick second. THERE IS A BABY!"

Everyone got up and followed me to Alex's room.

"So, what's the baby's name?" My mom asked.

"Well, after much consideration we have decided on Charlotte Rose Power, Char for short," Alex smiled.

"Dang it, I thought Jackie would've been a great contender!" Jackie laughed.

"If you don't mind, I would like to speak to Jackie, Kian, Lia, and Troye if it is alright with you guys."

Everyone left the room, leaving Alex and I alone with Jackie, Lia, Kian, and Troye.

"Well, Lachlan and I have been talking and as much as I love everyone out there, I thought that you four would be the best godparents, if that's okay with you," Alex grinned.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME DUDE!?" Jackie exclaimed, obviously excited.

Everyone nodded their heads and smiled, except Kian who just looked at his shoes.

"Kian?"

I motioned my head towards the hallway, which he followed me out to.

"What's going on?"

"You two really think I'm a good enough person to be Char's godparent after all I've done? I mean I'm happy that I was one of the people you guys decided on, but wouldn't you rather have Connor or Jc be Char's godparent?" He mumbled.

"Kian, you've been amazing and you know that. Ever since you've been back in our lives, you've been there for Alex when I wasn't. You helped us move out her mom's house and into our own. I think you've proven you're a good man."

He just nodded his head and smiled. I grabbed the handle and walked into Alex's room, but before I closed the door behind me I turned around and saw Kian jump up and just smile.

"If you guys don't mind, I would like some time alone with Alex."

Everyone nodded their heads, said their goodbyes to all of us, and left the room.

"How do you feel Alex? Ready to be a parent?"

"I don't think anyone could ever be ready, but I think I am going to do whatever it takes to take care of Charlotte and make sure she grows up happy," Alex smiled, lightly touching Char's nose.

"I think we will be great parents."

"Do you mind holding her for a while? I need a nap!"

I of course took Charlotte and sat on the couch. Once I knew Alex was asleep I began to talk to Charlotte like any normal parent would be.

"Hey baby girl, it's your daddy. I hope you know that your mommy and I love you with all of our hearts. I promise you that I will do everything I possibly can to make sure you grow up as happy as you can possibly be. Oh and just so you know, no boys for you until I am fifty! Char, just between you and I, I want you to know that you're my baby girl and if something happens between your mother and I, which I hope never does, I will never ever stop loving you. Baby, you and your mother are my world and I love you both oh so much."
