Chapter 59: Amazing Shouka

A worried Yuushun quickly run to Rin's side. ''That was reckless,'' he exclaimed. He had devoted himself to his family now and caring for his son is what he often does. Sai Rin continued to be an official and is now famous as the Minister of Public Works.

''Darling, do not underestimate your own son,'' Rin scolded. ''I sped up only to the extent that he could handle. As you can see I arrived last.''

Yuushun sighed and carried their son down from the horse. ''Father that was fun!'' the child beamed.

''You see? I know he would love it,'' Rin stroked their child. Yuushun helped her down the horse. ''Shusui-san, let's do this again next time. By then I would ride alone so I could ride beside you like Jyuusan-hime. Until next time Shuurei, Jyuusan,'' Rin bade goodbye and left with Yuushun.

''I will practice more too when I have time so I could catch up no matter how fast you go so join us again next time Shusui,'' Shuurei said too and Shusui nodded.

''Oujo-sama, you are already good. It may be dangerous,'' Seiran clamored and glared at Jyuusan with a look that said she is to blame if something happens to Shuurei.

''You never really change Seiran. You're being overprotective. Shuurei-chan can take care of herself. And I won't allow anything wrong to happen to her either,'' Jyuusan cut him.

''Don't worry Seiran. I learned a lot from Jyuusan. I can wield several weapons now too. Rin-san also made a lot of weapons for women which does not require military knowledge so anyone could use it. All of it are quite useful,'' Shuurei assured and Jyuusan smiled victoriously.

''See, you could have thought her how to use a sword when she was with you before. Now I get the honors of being her teacher,'' Jyuusan murmured to Seiran and he grimaced.

''Shuurei, I think you're really cool!'' Ryuuki beamed at her while Seiran and Jyuusan continued to banter on who is currently more useful to Shuurei.

''Really?''

''You have improved a lot Shuurei-dono. If you train even more, you may be able to catch up to my sister's pace. Jyuusan and Rin-dono were the only women whom I have seen to be capable of riding horses in par with the fastest riders of the army. In your skills now, you can even win a horseback contest,'' Shuuei praised too.

''Thank you,'' Shuurei blushed at the compliments.

''You too Shusui. You're really cool too. I have never thought you could ride a horse,'' Ryuuki looked at his previous Chief Lady in Waiting from head to foot, seeing her in a new light. Seiran is gazing at her too and Shuuei covered the prince's eyes – seeing Seiran as a possible rival.

''Thank you Your Majesty,'' Shusui giggled softly.

''I didn't know you could ride like that. You're breathtaking,'' Shuuei offered her his hand and she held it as she jumped down the horse. ''I would like to hear of how my most beloved flower learned those skills,'' he said. He acknowledged that he still knew so little about Shusui's past.

''That's right. Where did you learn that Shusui?'' Shuurei chimed in.

''I learned from Shouka-sama. I bet he could defeat everyone here when it comes to horseback riding,'' Shusui revealed and everyone was stunned. Shuuei looked like he was shattered.

''Tou-sama?!'' Shuurei's reaction was the most violent. Shouka who is currently sorting out letters from the Kou clan coughed, sensing that someone is talking about him. ''R-really? Father could do that?'' she can't believe that her clumsy father is that good. She saw him in a new light when he became the Kou clan leader but she still did not know a lot about him.
