Chapter 58: Women on Horseback

Ryuuki decided to wander around after finishing his work. He was not able to escape Seiran and Shuuei's watchful eyes who are both on duty. They followed him around the palace and wherever else he went to. He was just going around and his two personal guards wondered if he is doing it on purpose since he knew that he is being followed.

''Why won't you come out already?'' Ryuuki sighed when he got tired of trying to lose the two. Shuuei and Seiran then quit hiding and showed themselves.

''Your Majesty, Seiran here is saying that we have always told you to call one of us if you would go out,'' Shuuei reminded.

''I said that only if I am going out of the palace. I am still within palace grounds,'' Ryuuki reasoned out. They kept on debating until when they saw Yuushun who looked like he is spying on someone. He is hiding behind trees and bushes. They tiptoed behind him due to curiosity.

''Yuushun-sama, what are you doing here?'' Ryuuki asked in a whisper knowing fully well that Yuushun wouldn't want to be discovered. Yuushun put a finger on his lips to silence them. They saw Sai Rin with their young son who is now six years old, in the horseback training ground within the palace compound. Jyuusan and Shuurei are there too.

Sai Rin saddled a horse and climbed up. The boy was lifted by Jyuusan and Rin seated her son in front of her. Yuushun watched nervously. He is now a full time father and Ki Kouki had succeeded him as Prime Minister.

''Rin-sama is still a good rider,'' Shuuei commented, recalling that Rin was able to keep up with the fastest riders in the army. ''She's the manliest woman in Sa Province afterall.''

''Yes, she had insisted on teaching our son to be manly too,'' Yuushun sweat-dropped. ''That's fine with me. But the problem is Sai Rin enjoys riding fast especially if she is with these people. I wonder if our son could stomach their pace,'' Yuushun looked worried.

''Perhaps your sister is the manliest woman in Ran Province too,'' Yuushun guessed.

''That's exactly right. But she's not as manly as me though,'' Shuuei mumbled. Seiran raised an eyebrow. His sister is also his rival of Shusui's attention.

''If Rin is with such a foreboding contender, she cannot help but get fired up. She may get too excited and forget that our son is riding with her,'' Yuushun stated. The three watched to understand what he meant.

Shuurei was the next to sit on a horse's back and Ryuuki and Seiran were surprised to see her climb on her own. ''We'll go aheadt then,'' Shuurei excitedly said to Jyuusan.

''Sure, I'll just wait for Onee-chan (older sister). We'll catch up,'' Jyuusan waved. Shuurei and Rin made their horses run. It was slow at first but then they made the horses run faster.

''Amazing, I did not know Shuurei could ride a horse that fast now,'' Ryuuki beamed.

''I knew Jyuusan taught her before she traveled around the country. But I did not know she is this good now,'' Seiran nodded. Even Shuuei agreed. Last time he remembered Shuurei on a horse, she cannot even climb on her own.

Jyuusan petted her horse while waiting for Shusui. ''You're really cute. I want to try how strong you are,'' Jyuusan said to the horse. She proceeded on giving a name to the horse and the stallion seemed to like it. She giggled and stroked its mane and a certain someone stared at her with a what-the-hell look.

''Can your sister speak horse language?'' Seiran commented as he watched Jyuusan hug the horse. ''Does she do that to all horses she ride?'' he raised a brow.
