That following morning, my mom had given me a call and asked if I was still coming over for dinner that evening. I told her that I would stop by later after I finish up with the remainder of my homework. My mother was all that I had. I was an only child and my father had passed away when I was six. He had lung cancer.
I got dressed and headed out. I didn't associate with many people. I could count all of my friends on one hand. I spent the majority of my time working and studying. Every now and again I would hang out with my friends, but I shared most of my time with Patricia than anyone.
Later that evening I finally made my way over to my mother's place. She lived a good two hours away from me. My mom greeted me with open arms once she opened the door.
