Chapter 35

I woke up and the sky was moving, or I was moving, I'm not entirely sure. I opened my eyes and noticed that I was being carried by Ryder. I totally forgot that he found me yesterday. I closed my eyes again and tried falling back asleep but I couldn't. I reopened my eyes and found him looking at me.

"Good morning Shrek!" He winked at me. I didn't see the sad in his eyes so my mood uplifted. I kissed his cheek and he placed me down. He grabbed my hand and we continued walking straight.

"How do you know where the camp is?" I asked and he laughed at me. He pulled out his phone from his pocket and opened it to the compass app. OH! I rolled my eyes and skipped along, but he was leading of course. it was pretty quiet until he sparked up a conversation.

"Why did you leave? Well I mean, into the woods." He asked looking me in the eyes. The sadness grew...

"I couldn't sleep, so I decided to go on a walk, and as you know, the famous legacy carries on!" I explained. He looked at me, but differently. He gave me a look that I have never seen him give me.His eyes lit up, but he wasn't smiling. He was gazing into my eyes and didn't look away. The young Ryder I once knew grew up. The young Ryder I knew couldn't hold my gaze, but now he can. The sadness that I knew was growing, suddenly wasn't there. He was staring into the eyes of a girl he's in love with. I can't be the reason why he is so upset, it makes no sense. He placed his hand onto my cheek and rubbed his thumb up and down my face, a sweet, calm, beautiful smile appeared on his face. It filled up my heart, and gave me butterflies.

"Man I am so much in love with you" He whispered but it was loud enough so I could hear. his hand dropped and he held onto mine, tight. We continued along on our journey until we heard something very unpleasant. We slowly turned around and the biggest bear I have ever laid eyes on was growling at us.

"Back away slowly.." I said. Ryder held on to me tighter and we backed away. We didn't want to make noise because it will chase us. I looked at Ryder and he was going to sneeze.

"do not s-"

"ACHO!"

"sneeze... RUN!" I screamed. We turned around and bolted towards the camp site.We still had to keep going straight so we did. Ryder jumped over a long but I didn't see it. I tripped and fell and the bear grabbed on to my leg. My scream of pain filled the air and Ryder came back faster than ever. He grabbed onto my hand and threw a huge stick at the bear. It let go and Ryder pulled me up, my leg was bleeding so he ripped off the sleeve of his shirt and wrapped it around my leg.

"It's like we are in a movie" I said between cries. he smiled and kiss me.

"And I'm your hero" He smiled. I stood up, I can still walk and run, it didn't hurt as much. He held on to me and didn't let go and we ran. Running through the trees, scratches on our face and our clothes being torn, not to mention I lost my shoe! We kept running and the bear was no longer after us, Ryder had a scar on his face dripping with blood, his clothes were all torn out and his arms were bleeding. My leg was bleeding through the fabric, and my clothing were torn up too. I looked at Ryder and he smiled, and I collapsed. He grabbed me, and lifted me up. He carried me in his arms the whole way to the camp.

*Nicki's P.O.V*

Ryder is gone too, he probably went to look for Shay but he hasn't gotten back. I was worried sick out of my mind, I can't wait to beat up Shay! She should never have left. I don't blame her, I have been noticing her, noticing how upset Ryder is. Poor thing must think it's all her fault but it sure isn't. But the day is coming, and it's coming fast. We are all going to hate that day as much as Shay does. I feel so guilty keeping it away from her, she is my best friend after all.. but we cant tell her. And Ryder, yeah he is being stubborn and won't tell her.

I closed my eyes and laid on the grass, and Miles came and joined me.He laid his head on my stomach and I started to giggle.

"Your giggle is so cute, It makes it cuter because you never giggle" He said. His voice gives me goosebumps.I ran my fingers through his hair and then I sat up.I placed his head on my lap and then continued. This camping trip turned out the way we didn't want. Dylan has been very uptight recently and Aria has been trying to get him to cheer up. Right now, they are on the field spraying each other with water.

"Aria..Aria, please don't... ARIA!" He screamed. You can hear her small giggles from all the way other here. He started running and she ran after him too, she jumped on his back and dumped the whole water bottle on his head. She jumped off and he turned around and dropped water all over her head too. She then grabbed his face and kissed him.

"Ahh, I love you" He said making her blush.

"I love you too!" She replied. They continued running around and Tucker and Shawn joined in too.

"Nicki, can you please watch Aidan and Lily, Miles help too. We are going to find a police station!" Ryder's mom asked me and I nodded.

"Um, There's no need too.." Miles said sitting up and pointing towards the forest. Two figures appeared. Ryder and Shay! Miles and I stood up and everyone was watching. He was holding Shay in his arms, their clothes are torn, blood was dripping down Ryder's face and arms, and Shay was bleeding through the fabric wrapped around her leg. Miles quickly ran and took Shay out of Ryder's arms, and Tucker and Shawn helped Ryder walk into the tent, while Dylan a called an ambulance. I seriously can't believe this is happening. I thought there weren't any bears?!

"I swear there wasn't any bears when we booked this" Ryder's mom said.

"Guess they didn't double check.." I replied. But I clearly know what's going on. There is no bears in these parts, but someone may have put one. I thought we got rid of Trevor...

Soon the loud sound of the ambulance was here, we boarded Ryder and and Shay up and we jumped into the cars and drove off to the hospital. I
