Chapter 22

*Shay's P.O.V*

I woke up with the biggest smile on my face. The conversation with Ryder yesterday was pretty amazing! We haven't decided if we are going to be dating or not, we both aren't sure and I'm fine with what ever we choose to be. I can't believe all of this has happened, I feel like I just blinked and now I'm on cloud nine.
I jumped out of bed and walked into the shower. I turned it on hot and just stood under the water for a few moments. All the bad, good, and a little bit of both have been happening to me. Everywhere I turn, there is something I face. Whether it's with me or with my friends, something bad always seems to happen. I never really understood why in the first place, until it hit me. You have to keep pushing forward, and after you make it you are rewarded with a happy day. Once that happy day is over, you are doing it all over again. The thoughts kept running through my mind, and I'm pretty sure I was running late, I quickly washed my hair and body and jumped out of the shower. I pulled on my black jeans and the pink sweater my mom got me, I slipped on my converse and dried my hair. I walked back into my room and found Aria sitting on my bed. She was wearing the same sweater but hers was Blue.
"I missed twinning with you!" She said cheering.

"Well you're in a good mood!" I replied getting my phone.

"I am! I talked with Dylan yesterday night and it was an amazing conversation too!" She gushed.

"You just gushed over a guy Yenno! I told her as I wiggled my eyebrows.

"Shut up! He's different!" She replied laughing. I rolled my eyes at her, grabbed my phone and backpack and walked down the stairs with Aria trailing behind.

"No time for eating! Let's go they are already here!" I heard my mom tell my dad as she kissed Aria and I goodbye and put on Aidan's shoes. Mom and dad have found Aidan's biological parents, and are going to pick them up from the Airport. I can't wait to meet them. Apparently Aidan was taken from their home, by some guy, and they haven't seen him since. I kissed my parents and Aidan goodbye, and Aria and I waited for Ryder to come pick us up. I sat at the table and my phone rang.

"Helloooo" I said into the phone

"Shay, I gotta tell you something." Dylan said

"What's wrong?"

"Remember a while back, when I badly injured my knee?"

"Yeah?"
"Well, it's gotten worse and I can no longer play sports. I also have some back pain from the accident, and if I continue playing sports, it could get worse and I might not be able to walk anymore! Shay I'm freaking out right now!" He whispered into the phone

"Calm down, you just need time to heel okay? Now Why are you whispering?"

"I don't want the guys to hear...but I will tell them after. By the way, we are outside." He said. He hung up and Aria and I walked outside. Ryder was driving, Dylan was in the front, Tucker, Miles, and Shawn where in the back, and Nicki was in the middle saving two seats for us. We got buckled in, and we drove off to eat. Boy was I hungry! But I just couldn't help thinking about Dylan, sports are his life, and he was recently given a scholarship to a university after he graduated. What if everything falls apart? I feel bad for him, even though I know it's not permanent, if he damages it enough it could turn out to be permanent. I was deep into my thoughts when Nicki tapped my shoulder.

"I need to tell you something.." she whispered.

"what is it?" I whispered back.
