I woke up the next morning really really early. I checked through my phone and saw that the sun was just coming up. I quietly opened the balcony door and sat on the cold metal seats. I placed my phone on record and filmed the sunrise. About 15 minutes later, I noticed something running between the trees and bushes below the hotel room. It was a dark figure, tall and hiding his face. HIM. I over heard Dan and Phil's conversation last night. They think I'm making it up, I know they do. I quietly stopped recording the footage and took my phone. I took burst pictures as he weaved behind trees and bushes. I shook my head so that I knew I wasn't making it up. He stopped on the path, out in the open. He looked like a dark small figure from the hotel room but I zoomed in and caught every detail. I needed to see his face. I saw a small bucket catching dripping water from the corner of the balcony roof. I stopped taking pictures and then picked up the bucket and took a deep breath. I poured the contents of the bucket over the side of the balcony and the water fell to the ground making a huge splash. The figure turned and looked up in surprised and I caught his face on my phone camera. I quickly ducked behind the wall of the balcony so that he wouldn't know which room or who the splash came from.
I let some time pass before placing the bucket back under the leak and sneaking back into the room. I skimmed through the 154 photos I took.
"Wake up!" I yelled jumping on Dan and Phil's bed, "I'm not going crazy!"
"Wha?" Dan said startled.
"I caught it look!" I said thrusting my phone into Dan's hands, he gasped when he saw the picture and Phil also did when he put his glasses on.
"You got it!" Dan said smiling, "Get dressed, we need to show security""And you did this how?" The security man, who was a tall and rather large man with dark skin and black hair, smiled at me.
"I was sat on the balcony because I couldn't sleep and saw him out of the corner of my eye in the bushes below our room, I took those pictures of him moving through the bushes" I showed him some of the pictures I shot, "Then I noticed a bucket of water underneath a leak in the balcony roof and poured it over the side and he looked up and got that picture"
"That is a remarkable picture for someone of your age, and on your phone too" He said, "We can catch this guy easy"
"You can?" Dan asked sounding relieved.
"Yeah, we see eyes, nose shape, face shape, clear skin colour and his clothes. All we need to do now if figure out why he isn't appearing on CCTV footage" The security man said.
"Could he just be standing off camera or something?" Phil asked.
"Probably, if he's willing to get that close to you without fear of the CCTV camera then he's probably already mapped out where the cameras blind spots are" He said turning to the 16 screens with CCTV footage flashing across them, changing from the lobby to the pool, to the arcade to the hallways.
"What do we do then?" I asked.
"Stay in your rooms, he didn't see you did he?"
"No, I ducked behind the wall before he could" I replied.
"Good, we'll send our team out around the complex and keep you posted" He said. He turned away to send a radio call.
"I'm sorry we have to spend a day in our rooms" I said to Dan and Phil.
"Don't you worry, we'd rather have you safe. Plus, American TV is better than English TV" Dan laughed.
"Yeah, I just wish we could see the others" I said.xxx
