Chapter 27

Me and Tommy had been meet up for a while and became close friends. I started to notice Dan and Phil becoming kind of awkward whenever Tommy was around. I decided to ask them one day.
"Don't you like Tommy?" I asked Phil, I was sat on the counter top whilst he made pancakes for us and Dan was showering.
"We love Tommy, we've just never been in this situation before" He replied.
"What situation?" I asked.
"Our daughter getting a boyfriend" he said.
"He's not my boyfriend" I said quickly.
"I hear I liar" Dan popped his head around the kitchen door.
"We're not together" I said in a defensive tone which came out sounding rather whiny.
"Yet" Dan said, "there's time"
"We're just friends" my brains started to play out idealistic views of me and Tommy together, on dates, at each other's houses.... stop!!  What!! Did I like Tommy? Were they right?

I found myself day dreaming about Tommy, just little things like I'd be watching Tv and think 'what if Tommy were here'. I decided to take my mind off things a little. A fan gave Dan a ukulele in America and it was just lying in the corner of the hallway. I picked it up and went into my room. There was millions of YouTube videos and apps to teach you to play. So I tuned it and started.

3 hours later my fingers were red raw and my head was spinning with chord diagrams and chord names but I was absolutely in love with the ukulele. I'd never played an instrument in my life and now I had something.
"Well that's new" Phil said popping his head in the door.
"Cool isn't it" I said putting it down.
"Very! We're wanting to go to the Chinese buffet for dinner, you in?" He asked.
"Always!!" I said.
"Oh and Tommys coming so dress nice"..... what!!
