Alone

Kaylee's POV

Man does my head hurt I thought and then got up. But I got pulled back down from something resisting to let me go. I checked my ankle and saw their was chain attached to me. My hand is tied in rope to the post next to me. I looked around a little better and saw Mackenzie here too, she was tied to the wall like me, by the ankle and hand. She looked pretty beat up, but then again so do I.

This morning Soda told me he liked me. I left him hanging, I couldn't say I love you or I like you like he did. What we end up together and I don't feel the same way? Plus I don't even know what love is, none of us girls do. Camille had love once, but then lost it after her boyfriend dumped her. I felt so bad for Camille. She hasn't talked in 7 years, maybe said a small scream here and there, that's it. I was scared to break his heart and then never forgive myself for it. Or maybe that I turn into a player and break his heart that way. I know Beth and Sid have broken many hearts and let many boys down, classic them.

"Kaylee? That you?" I heard Kenzie's scratchy voice say.

"Yeah it's me, you okay?" I asked her and she nodded. We're only a couple feet apart from each other and I can see her fairly well. She started to cry, I wanted to hug her and tell her that we'll be okay, but that would be a lie. I couldn't hug her, the chain around my ankle was holding me back.

I heard footsteps coming down the stairs, once he or they got to the bottom. I didn't know these socs, just that they beat us up once already. The very second day we got here and were walking around alone, well me, Alexia and Camille. They walked up to us and I saw a bat, a wooden baseball bat.

"Who's first?" He asked. I need to try and convince him not to hit us or at least not Kenzie, she's too young to go through torture like the rest of us already did.

"Don't hit us and why do you want us?" I asked, almost yelling at them.

"Because, you make those filthy greasers happy. Figured we take you all away and then they become miserable again. The poor kids of the west side and me, the rich kid from the east side" He said.

"Leave the girls and the greasers alone" Kenzie spat at him. He then took the bat and hit hard in the back. She fell to the ground crying and then he went after me, he had the guys hit us and punch us after awhile of using the bat. Bat hurts way more then I thought. Kenzie is passed out again and I wish that I did pass out, cuz the pain is unbearable and unexplainable. I know Kenzie feels the same as me, if were gonna be here for awhile and have them beat us.  We won't survive unless someone find us, but for now we're chopped liver and I know it too.

Sidney's POV

Kaylee and Kenzie have been gone all day skateboarding. I haven't seen them since last night and Soda last saw them this morning around 6:45 am. Camille hasn't moved a bit, the twins went to the movies with Two-bit, Dallas, Johnny and Ponyboy. Soda, Steve and Darry are at work, Steve and Soda will be done soon. I might go down and ask Soda if he knows where they went.

I got my shoes and jacket on, put my blade in my pocket and ran out the door. I ran down to the DX and I had two socs following me. I stopped and punched one in the head and the other punched me in the jaw. I had enough of socs. I beat them up as good as I could. I left running to the DX and went inside gasping for air. Steve was at the register and there was no Soda here.

"Hey Steve, where's Soda?" I asked. he pointed to the door a couple feet next to him. I walked over to the door and saw a car, then I saw Soda under the car fixing it. I sat down on a gas can and waited until he was done, my patience level ain't too good.

"Soda, do you know where Kaylee and Kenzie went skateboarding?" I asked.

"No, they just left. Why?" He asked, he didn't sound too happy. Is he mad at someone or is he sad? Doesn't matter right now, I need to look for the girls.

"I haven't seen them all day and they haven't come back home." I said. He got out from under the car and he was covered in oil and dirt. He looked worried now, he does care about them!

"I'll help look once my shift is over" He said and I looked at the clock, he has 45 minutes left. Both him and Steve do, Darry comes home late. I went back inside where Steve was and sat on the counter. I took out my phone and tried calling Kaylee's phone, but it went to voicemail. I know somethings up, where could they be?

"You gonna stay until were done?" Steve asked and I nodded looking at my phone.

"Why ya here anyway?" He asked, shut up Steve! Like can't ya see I am busy. No wonder Kaylee hates you a lot. I am starting to hate you to, maybe even more then Kaylee soon.

"Kaylee and Kenzie have been gone all day. I came to ask Soda if he knew where they went" I said and he nodded. I just sat there and he went outside to the pumps. He asked if I wanted to help, I said that I don't help socs or other people. I sat there for the next 45 minutes waiting for them.

The time went by slowly and I should've just left on my own. I should've and next time I will. They closed up shop and we walked outside, I tried calling Kaylee again and it went to voice mail. I was so ready to throw my phone on the ground, but I can't. That's the communication us girls all have. I followed behind them and we searched down alley ways, lot, the Dingo, bucks and any where you go skate around.

It's the end of the day and we have no clue where they are. I have no clue if they're dead in an alley way, socs got to them and they're out there somewhere on their own passed out or if they're gone for awhile.

We got home late at night and the girls are all here, except for Kaylee and Kenzie who we have no idea are. I plopped down on the couch next to Alexia and Rebecca, they were watching tv. Some of the guys are in the kitchen or at a party, which would be Dally and Two-bit.

"Where's Kaylee and Kenzie?" Alex asked. I turned to her and shrugged my shoulders.

"I don't know, no one has seen them all day" I said. I watched tv and Rebecca fell asleep. We only have 5 left now. Wait, where's Beth? I got up and went outside looking for her. I went to the lot and then went to the park.

I found her on the monkey bars and she was looking up at the sky. I ran over to her and climbed up onto the monkey bars. I sat next to her and she sighed.

"Home is out there still" She said, she wants to go back? I mean this place is just like New York, same people. Same two different worlds, same everything, those who love and those who don't. That's us right there.

"I know, but we can't go back until we a find a way back" I said and or needed her to drop it.

"C'mo let's go back" I said and she shook her head no.

"I am staying here tonight" She said, I can't leave her here alone. So I will stay too with her the whole night. I laid back and looked up at the stars with her. I saw little and big dipper. I closed my eyes and fell asleep and so did Beth. I felt the cool breeze keeping us cool, the moon lit up the dark sky and it was just... peaceful.
