Skateboards and Being Sick

Elizabeth's POV

I woke up not long ago. But I stayed in bed, I was here all day yesterday too. Kaylee was kinda weird yesterday, she went to the hospital yesterday for some reason. I only noticed the cast on her arm and couple scrapes on her arms, face and legs. I left her alone, she didn't look like she was in the mood to talk.

I believe she is sick like how I was, with a cold. I've been listening to her cough all morning, she has a mound of blankets on her bed. I tried getting her up and she pushed me to the floor. I left her there and stayed in my bed. We usually  stay with the one who is sick to make sure they're okay. I am staying with Kaylee today, not all day. But until she wakes up and feels better. I got up and made my way to the kitchen, I am getting food if I am staying there all day. Plus Kaylee threw up about three times already. She gets sick easily, most of the time it's always her to get sick before the others. Then it's me and then it would be Kenzie.

I walked in and opened the fridge, I looked around for vanilla cake and it wasn't there. I had one thing to do and I am sure I will get the cake soon. Yell.

"Sidney! Get out bed and make some cake!" I yelled from the kitchen.

"Make it yourself!" She yelled back. I rolled my eyes, grabbed milk and went over to the food cabinet. I pulled out cereal from the cabinet and went over to the island counter. I sat on the middle of it and grabbed a bowl from the drawer next to me. I poured my cereal and then opened the milk. I drink from the carton, not from a cup. My cereal stays plain or else it will get soggy with milk and I hate that. I started to it and then the front door busted open as 6 teenage boys walked in and made themselves at home. I went back to eating my cereal and then Steve came over next to me. He went to grab my milk but I kicked him away.

"Get your own, that's mine" I said. He smirked and then ran over to the living room.

"Where's the others?" Two-bit asked, really? Obviously not here idiot.

"Not here at the present time" I said.

"Where'd they go?" Johnny asked.

"I don't know, does it look like I know everything?" I asked and they either nodded or shook their heads. "They're asleep still" I added. I stood up on the counter I was on, picked up my milk and jumped over to the other counter where the sink and stove are. I saw the guys lit up with amazement as I jumped from counter to counter and didn't fall. I then did the splits and grabbed my bowl from the other side, I put the bowl in the sink. I got down and walked back to my room with my milk.

I shut the door and left the guys out there. I sat on my bed and put my milk beside me. I have food that sits on my bed under covers and all that. But it's all wrapped in plastic so it doesn't go bad on me.  I grabbed my phone from beside the bed and then texted Sidney. I told her the guys and her boyfriend are here.

"I am sleeping and if you wanna talk to me, don't text me" She said. Okay, I won't use my phone.

"Sidney! I'm leaving! Come watch Kaylee!" I yelled from my room.

"What's wrong with Kaylee!?" She yelled back.

"She's sick with a cold and she's throwing up! She came back last night all wet!" I yelled. I got up and left the room. I went to the front door and grabbed my jacket. I threw my shoes on and I grabbed my hat, flat cap. It's light blue and matches my jeans.

"Bye Sid!" I yelled. I left out the door and grabbed my board from beside the house. The front door opened again and Pony and Johnny came outside.

"Need something?" I asked.

"Nah, where you going?" Ponyboy asked. I turned around with my board and smiled.

"Skating around, wanna come?" I asked. He nodded and Johnny decided to stay with the guys. I gave him Sid's board. He wasn't sure if he was allowed to use it or not. I told him that I'd be the one getting in trouble, not him. He agreed to come with me and take Sid's board.

"Let's go" I said. He ran with me down the road and then we dropped our boards. He never rode a board and you can tell he hasn't. We got to the lot and I stopped and he didn't know how to stop. I ran down the road and caught up with him. I took his hand and told him how to stop. He put his foot at the back of the board and stopped.

"Thanks Beth" He said. I smiled.

"No problem, I should teach ya before we actually ride them" I told him and he nodded in agreement. He walked back with me to the lot where my board was and where I was gonna teach him how to ride without falling, stopping and then learn how to stop.

We got back to the lot and I told him to step on the board. I stood in front of him in case he needed a hand. He stepped on the board and he was shaking a little too. Can't ride when you're shaking.

"Pony, relax your muscles. You'll be fine" I said. He nodded and calmed himself down. I laughed and he had the face 'why you laughing?'. I shook my head and told him what to do next.

I told him everything he needed to know and how to stop and ride the board. He fell a couple times and so did I trying to help him. One time he fell, it was one of his first tries, he fell forward and I happen to be there. He fell on me and we both fell to the ground laughing. Then he kissed me after that and I kissed him back. He helped me up and we skated back to my place.

We've been here at my place for awhile now. The girls all up, except for a sick Kaylee. Sid's sitting with Dallas watching tv. Alex and Camille are doing a card tower race, Two-bit's watching tv and so is Johnny. Soda and Steve are throwing footballs in the house. I decided to join in, as Soda threw the ball to Steve, I pushed him to the ground and caught the ball.

"Missed Stevie" I said.

"Ya pushed me" He said.

"Ya still missed" I said, then he pushed me playfully to the ground and took the ball. He passed it back to Soda. I went to mine and Kaylee's room. I got inside and shut the door behind me. I went to my bed and grabbed the milk that I left there. I walked over to Kaylee's bed and stood next to her.

"Kaylee, are you gonna get up?" I asked her.

"Why?" She asked me.

"Because you've been there all day. Plus something's up with Soda. He won't shut up about last night. Is it true you tried to kill yourself?" I asked her, I almost was in tears when I asked her the last part. I can't afford to loos another best friend. She's the only family I got, other then Sid, Alex and Camille.

"Yeah, but thank Soda. He's the reason I am still here" She said.

"Okay, well get up. Let's go skateboarding" I said. She got up and got dressed. Skinny jeans, tank top and brown leather jacket. She put her hair in a messy bun and was ready to leave. Her and I left the room and walked down the hall. The girls had all the guys pinned to the ground. I started to laugh and Kaylee looked too sick to laugh. She needs air and now.

We grabbed mine and Sid's board. The socs snapped her board the other day and so she has to use one of the girl's boards. Her and I skated down the road for awhile.

We stopped at the edge of a curb and sat down. It looks like it will rain, but we have time. I wanted to know what she did last night. So she told me every things, from her standing in front of the car to her and Soda kissing out in the rain under the stars. I sat with her on the curb until we both fell asleep on the grass with our boards by our side.
