Darcy's POV:
We set both of our bags down on the floor next to the bed which we had chosen to be our own. I had managed to get the bed closest to the window as I thought that it was much nicer than having the one right next to the bathroom. Calum didn't really mind as he said that it meant that he would be closer for when he needs his 'midnight shit'. He's disgusting but I've had to put up with his ways my entire life. After coping with him for 18 years, him talking about when he is going to go to the toilet isn't really the most vile things he's said.
Calum and I were both led on our beds aimlessly scrolling through our twitter feeds when he decided to jump off of his bed and scare me in the process. I placed my phone down beside me and watched him to see what he had found out that he needed to do so urgently. He grabbed out a dark grey hoodie from his bag and proceeded to put it on. "Where are you going?". He turned round to face me with a mischievous look.
He jogged around to my side of the bed and opened up my bag. I sat up on my bed and watched what he was doing. "This is the first day of the rest of our lives and you want to waste it on our phones?" He questioned. "Let's go wherever the wind takes us." He added. He finally found my burgandy jumper from my bag and threw it at me. He did have a point. Nothing was going on on twitter and we could be doing so much right now.
I caught my jumper and put it on whilst Calum grabbed the key to the room from the bedside table in between the two beds. I joined him by the door, crouching down as I tied up my shoes. Calum looked at himself in the mirror, smoothing down his hair before he pulled the door open. "I don't even know how we got to this place. Where's the lift?" He was searching down all of the different aisles trying to find the way back downstairs but I had remembered the way. I laughed at his stupidity and then told him that it was in the opposite direction to where he was searching.
Once I had successfully managed in getting Calum to the right place we had to wait for a couple of minutes for the lift to arrive. "So the plan is that we have no plan?" I questioned just to make sure that I had fully understood his motives. He simply agreed with me and then the lift arrived. We got in and it only took seconds for it to go down the six floors that we needed to be able to get out of the hotel.
Alan was still sat at the front desk where he had been two hours ago when we had arrived at this place. This time he was dealing with an older man and a rather provocatively dressed woman who wanted a room. She was clearly a hooker that this married man had hired for the night for a bit of fun. The wedding ring on his left hand fourth finger gave away his marital status and I flashed my middle finger at the man behind his back for being a total dick. He probably has kids at home as well as his wife. I know what it's like to grow up with a dad that's not present so I instantly hated the man.
Calum returned my hand to my side. "You'll get us kicked out if you do that again, the man at reception could have been watching." I raised my eyebrows at the boy for his complete change in attitude. I'm usually the one telling him off for doing the stupid shit, not the other way around.
We exited the hotel and on to the streets of my hometown that I've been barely allowed to explore. The houses all looked different and unique as we passed them on our way in to the town center. I even saw a small bungalow that was for sale. It was white bricked and had dark brown shutter windows either side of a black door. If Calum and I had more money than we did then I would definatley speak to someone about renting the place, but we don't. We barely have enough to afford the hotel that we are staying in at the moment. We'll be fine though.
Calum stopped walking just outside of a small pub. It stood out so much in the town setting that we lived in as it was a cottage type building with a large thatched roof. It looked like it should be in the middle of the countryside rather than a town centre but it was cute nonetheless. "We'll get some breakfast here? They give me half price." Then I finally put it together that this is the place that Calum performs at every now and then.
Calum entered the small pub to be greeted straight away by one of the men behind the bar. "Hooood." I mentally laughed at the awful nickname that he was given and how I already knew that he hated it. He won't say anything though because he doesn't want to be rude. That's the type of person that he is. He went up to the bar and greeted the man back. His name was Steve. He was an older man with light hair that was greying slightly near the roots and bright blue eyes. "18 now I hear." He continued when we both took a seat on the stools surrounding the bar.
"Yeah. Steve, this is my sister Darcy. Darcy, this is Steve." He introduced us and he stuck his hand out for me to shake which I did. "We just came in for some breakfast."
"Alright mate, well I'm not actually working at the moment so I'll get Ashton to come and take your order." He left us and began talking to a younger boy at the other end of the bar. The boy picked up a small notepad and a pen and then came over to Calum and I. He was fairly tanned, muscular and had light brown curley hair. He was very attractive but looked like the person that knew that already. The way that he carried himself showed that he was not self concious in any way. "Calum, what can I get for you mate?" When he spoke I noticed that he also had a very strong Australian accent. He took the lid off of the pen and looked at Calum waiting for the order.
"We'll just have two full English breakfasts?" Calum looked at me for confirmation that was he had chosen was right and I nodded at him. "And I'll have a tea, Darcy will have a hot chocolate. Thanks mate." He had never mentioned Ashton before, I've only heard of Luke and I still haven't heard that much about him. All I know is that Calum sometimes hangs out with Luke a bit after he plays at the pub. Ashton wrote down the order and then set about making our drinks.
Calum turned to face me. "You like Ashton." He concluded.
