(A/N : In this story Zayn's family lives in Mumbai, India. But they actually are in Bradford only. Just changes for the story.)
Zayn's P.O.V---
We walked out of the airport to see my friend Krish, waving at us. Lakshita and I walked towards him and he pulled me into hug. "It's been long time." He said and I nodded. "How is Doniya ?" I asked and he sighed. "She should be okay. The treatment's just started." He replied and I bit my lip. I felt Lakshita's hand rub my shoulder and I was glad she was here. "I'm Lakshita." She said and Krish smiled, hugging her. "Nice to meet you, I'm Krish." He said and she nodded. "Let's go ?" I asked and Krish nodded. "You guys can catch on the news. I'll go ahead. Gimme the suitcases Zayn." She said, grabbing my suitcase from me and started walking forward.
"Is she your girlfriend ?" Krish asked and I smiled. "She is really pretty. Let me know if you don't love her." Krish winked and I glared at him. "She is not my girlfriend. Not yet. Don't you dare make moves." I said and Krish laughed, putting his hands up. He drove us straight to the hospital and I immediately got out, running to her room. "Zayn!" Mom called, pulling me into a hug. I pulled back and saw she was crying. "Waliya and Safaa ?" I asked and she replied "School." "How is she ?" I asked, looking at the room. "On treatment." Mom managed and I had no more guts to ask her anything. She was depressed and I couldn't get myself to cry in front of her.
"Hello, ma'am. I'm Lakshita, nice to meet you." I heard her say. I looked up to see them hugging. "Call me Trisha." Mom said and she nodded, smiling. She sat down beside me on the cold waiting chairs and unlocked her phone. I saw her text Liam that we have reached. She leaned down, placing her head on her lap. "Zayn, go home." Mom said and I shook my head. Lakshita looked up at me, looking very tired. "Please, Zayn." Mom said and I still refused. "I'll take him home. Don't worry." She told my mom and looked at me. "Zayn, please. Let's go home and get you some rest. Take a shower and then we'll come back." She said, getting up from the chair. "No, I wanna stay here." I complained and she sighed, offering me her hand. "Please ?" She asked and I couldn't deny. I held her hand and got up.
I took Krish's car and drove through the streets of Mumbai. I drove into our driveway and Lakshita got down, taking both the suitcases. I opened the door and led her to my room. My room looked the same as it did when I left. With just my drawings on wall, my desk with notepads, colour pencils, crayons, sharpies, markers, pens and my high school books. My wardrobe still had my young days clothes. My walls were still the same White colour with Lilac ceiling. The beds were with white sheets and pillows and blankets. Lakshita sat on the bed and she was clearly exhausted. "Baby, sleep." I said, kissing her forehead. She nodded and removed her bracelet, sandals. She got under the covers and threw down her top and skirt. Okay, wow. She was half nude. Her head hit the pillow and she was soon asleep. I removed my tshirt and got under the covers, forcing myself to not look at her. She is sleeping this way cause she trusts me and I should not break it. Or did she do it so I could see her this way ? No, she is smart. She knows the situation and would never think this right now.
I woke up to feel her long pretty fingers, playing with my hair. I looked up at her and she was clothed fully. My head was on her lap and my face felt wet. "What happened ? Why are you up ?" I asked and she brushed hair out of my face. "I woke up normally but to see you sobbing in your sleep. I felt very bad and started cuddling with you, comforting you, until you stopped crying and fell asleep." She said and my cheeks turned pink. "You... Saw..me, cry ?" I asked stuttering and she nodded, raising an eyebrow. She is going to think I'm weak and I can't even handle this. What if she leaves me ? "Zayn ?" She called and I looked up, now crying that she might leave me. She wiped the tears off my cheek and hugged me. She stood up and walked to the desk, unlocking her phone. "How is Doniya, mom ?" She asked and then I couldn't hear the rest of the conversation.
She walked up to me and I sat up. "I'm sorry." I apologised, crying again. "Why are you sorry ? What's wrong ?" She asked, cupping my face in her small hands. "Don't leave me because I'm crying. I'm not weak." I sobbed and she hugged me tight. I buried my face in her chest, her milky vanilla scent soothing me. She rubbed my back, slowly and we stayed that way for a couple of minutes. She pulled back and her warm chocolate brown eyes stared into mine. "You're not weak. I won't leave you cause you're crying. It is okay to cry, Zayn. Crying is way of just letting out your sadness. It's not bad. It doesn't make you weak. It shows how strong you've been so long to finally break apart. But I don't like to see you cry because it hurts. I'm not leaving you. Don't worry." She said and kissed my forehead, sending positivity into me. I hugged her waist, my head buried in her stomach. "Thanks, Lakshita. This is why I need you." I said and I could feel her smile.
We got ready and went to the hospital. I visited Doniya and she awake. I felt so relived to see her alive and better. We hugged each other and I noticed she had a fracture on her left arm with a deep cut on her thigh. I rubbed her arm gently and she smiled. "I'm happy you're here, Zayn." She said and I smiled wide. The doctor walked in and gave me a prescription. "I'll be back." I told her and opened the door, when Lakshita entered. "Medicines ? I'll get them. Be with your sister." She said, getting the piece of paper from me. "Glad you're alright, Doniya." She smiled at my sister and walked out after looking at me. "You can actually take your sister home today. She is healthy." The doctor said and I nodded, walking out and signed some papers.
We packed her bags and I helped her walk out. Dad helped me with Doniya while Krish offered to carry the bags. I helped her into the car and buckled her seat belt and looked for Lakshita. "Mom, I'll be back with Lakshita. Wait a minute." I said and walked into the hospital to see Lakshita walking from the opposite direction. That's when I saw her properly today. She smiled and me and gripped the cover of medicines tight. She was dressed in a peacock blue salwar kameez wearing her black sandals. She now stood in front of me making me notice her brown eyes tinted with Kohl, her soft lips with nude lip gloss. She had tiny heat boils on her nose and she made no effort to hide them. Her hair was braided loosely to one side. "You look amazing." I said and she smiled. "Thank you." She kissed my cheek and I wrapped my arm around her shoulder, walking to the car.
