Zayn's P.O.V---

The night breeze blew on our faces as I sped up. I placed my hand on her thigh where her hand rested. Entangling our fingers, I felt complete. I didn't want to lose the moment. I felt the lightness of the ring in my shirt pocket. The jacket over the shirt hid the imprint of the ring from her. A pretty smile rested on her face and I knew she was happy. "Zayn... I don't want this moment to fade away for us." She said, looking at me. "Me too, Lakshita." I whispered.

"We are not going to be just boyfriend-girlfriend to each other for life. We will get engaged someday, get married another day and have kids someday." She said and I felt nervous. I wanted to drive her to the hill top and propose, but now I was hesitating. What if she says no? "You are a good friend, good boyfriend and I know you'll be a good husband too. Would you be a good dad?" She asked and I raised an eyebrow, looking at her for a second.

"Of course, Lakshita. I'll do my best." I promised and she smiled. "Why did you ask?" I questioned and she shook her head. "I need to make a call, baby. Can we stop for a minute?" I asked and she agreed. "There is an ice cream shop the other side of the road. You make the call and I'll go get it." She smiled and I nodded. I handed over some money to her and we got down from the car.

"Zayn, what kind of a girlfriend am I to you?" She asked, standing in front of me. "Get me my favorite ice cream. I'll tell you then." I stuck my tongue out. She pouted and turned away from me.

I leaned against the car and dialled Liam's number as she slowly crossed the road. "Hey, man. Did you tell her yet?" He asked. "No, I am nervous. What if she says no?" I stuttered and Liam laughed. "You even think she is going to say no? That's so unlikely. Just do it." He said and I chuckled, speaking to him of my plans.

I watched her get the ice cream and she turned to me, smiling. Her heel broke and she pouted, giving me a cute face. "Wait, I'll come get you." I shouted and she shook her head. She started crossing the door, coming towards me. She mouthed 'I love you', walking further and I blew her a kiss. "Yeah, man. I'll call you tomorrow. Of course. Don't tell anyone though." I chuckled, talking to Liam.

Out of nowhere came a car in too much speed. Before I could call out, the vehicle hit Lakshita just as she saw it. Her jaw hit the front of the car, blood pouring out and she was thrown away. i dropped the phone, my heart stopping to beat for a moment.

"LAKSHITA!" I yelled, running over to her. I held her her up, tears streaming down my cheeks. The few people who were around rushed to our side. She bled from her head and mouth, breathing heavily. "Zee, what kind... of a girlfriend am... I to... you?" She whispered and I sobbed. I hugged her tight and sobbed. "You like another mother to me, baby!"

Fortunately an ambulance came that way and stopped. The stretcher was brought out. I picked her up in my arms in bridal style. The first time I ever did that and she was bleeding to death. Placing her on the bed, I stood next to her. She wouldn't die. She wouldn't leave me.

The doctor brought out a machine. Her eyes never left mine as she lay there still. Her white dress was turning red slowly. The bed she was on was also changing color. "Lakshita..." I whispered but she did not respond. Everything seemed to be a blur. The world was slowly started fading out.

Rubbing two cubes together, the doctor placed them on her chest and her chest jumped. Her hand held mine, tight. She placed it again on her chest and she reacted the same but calling out my name, "Zayn." I held her hand, not ever wanting to leave it. The doctor placed it the third time and now, she lay there lifeless. I looked up and the woman shook her head, turning away.

Taking her into the ambulance, they shut the door and the vehicle moved away with her. I stood there, as lifeless as she was. The night grew darker around me and everything disappeared off. I looked down to see her blood puddle on the road. Hot tears slipped down my face and I started suffocating, collapsing down on the road in painful sobs.
