Zayn's P.O.V---

Lakshita was a nice girl and all. She was the best. But shopping with her and two other girls... That was funny. We were in the mall - Niall, Rakhi, Liam, Adya,Lakshita and I. It was the 27th of December and the girls were frantically walking in and out of shops for dresses. They had a prom after the graduation ceremony and it was compulsory to go with a date. We boys did not like that idea.

"Mate, she is going with this guy called Austin." Niall groaned and I looked at him. The boys and I were in a coffee shop, waiting for the girls. "Adya is with Wade for the night." Liam sighed and I shot them apologetic looks. Lakshita told me she would call in sick and stay with me at home but wanted her to not miss her high school prom.

"Lakshita with Jake." I muttered and the boys nodded grimly. We loved everything about their graduation except for the dance. We soon finished our coffee and walked into the shop the girls were in. We payed for their dresses but they argued not to.

Lakshita and I got into my car after she kept her bag at the back. I drove and Lakshita was reading from a piece of paper to herself. "No!" She pouted silently and I looked at her. "Whats wrong, doll?" I asked and she looked at me. "I still havent got my speech right. It is annoying." She complained and I rubbed her arm.

I stopped in front of her house. It was already past 9. "You will do well tomorrow. Just relax. I know my Lakshita can get this done amazingly." I said and she sighed. "Thanks Z." She hugged me and I kissed her cheek. She walked into her house and I drove away after one last wave.

That night I was in my bedroom, doodling a picture because I just couldnt fall asleep. I did not know why but, after that night I slept cuddling her, I just cant sleep alone. Without her in my arms.

"Zayn?" I heard someone call. I opened the room door to see Adya and Rakhi outside. "Come in." I said and they sat on the couch in my room. "We came to tell you something." Adya said and I nodded, asking them to continue. "The tour.. Girlfriends are allowed to join." Adya informed and I was overjoyed. "Thats amazing." I smiled, but, they did not. "Are you girls not happy?" I asked and they sighed. "We are. But, Lakshita wont be joining the tour." They said in unison and the smile faded away.

"What?! Why?" I questioned and they looked at each other. "She does not know about this, but.. we dont want her to miss something amazing." Adya spoke and I raised an eyebrow. "What would she miss if she comes on tour?" I asked, like an idiot. "Adya and I have applied for online college course studies but her, she got accepted in Harvard Music school." Rakhi said and realization hit me.

She was getting graduated in the morning and she has got accepted by her dream college. How could I do something selfish and spoil her career? Her life? "What should I do?" I asked and they smiled. "Convince her to not come on tour." Adya said and I nodded knowing she was asking me to do the right thing.

They left and the night was sleepless. I woke up the next morning and got ready wearing a navy blue shirt tucked into a black jeans. I rolled up my sleeves the way she likes and wore my shoes. I got down and had breakfast. We all were ready. Liam drove us to the school and it looked cool.

All the walls had quotes on them and there was greenary everywhere. No marble, only wood. The buildings, roofs, floors were of wood. There was a Dias in the backyard with thousands of chairs set up in front of it. The stage was decorated with creepers and wooden artifacts.

We took seats in the 2nd row and waited for the girls. "Zayn?" I heard someone call. I turned to see Lakshita's mom and brother. I got up and hugged them. She smiled at Niall and took the seat a little away from us. Many girls looked at us and smiled but they did not whine or cry for autographs. I was happy with that. I kept looking for her nad finally did.

She had her back facing me. Her hair was let down freely and it was a perfect v cut by the waist. Only her sea green colored dress was visible to me. She turned around with Rakhi and Adya. I smiled at how beautiful she looked.

Her dress was a sea green colored v necked frock with a black belt at the waist. She had worn black pumps and light pink lip gloss. Her eyes were as usual tinted with Kohl. She looked very pretty!

Rakhi was dressed in a pink frock with patterns. Adya was in a purple frock with a white heart. They too had light make up on and looked pretty. I saw the boys drool(not literally) and chuckled. Lakshita caught my eyes and smiled wide. She walked fast to me and pulled me into a hug.

"The speech?" I asked and she nodded nervously. I kissed her cheek and she walked to the steps of the stage. She talked to some man and soon the ceremony started. A man went on with a speech and I was zoned out until he called "Please welcome, Miss. Shankar."

She stood in front of the podium and smiled. That was enough speech actually. I could just watch her smile and why wont people consider that a speech? Like seriously.

"I know we all think we're immortal." She started. The starting made everyone curious and all the sleeping ones decided to edge on her words. "We are supposed to feel that way. We are graduating. But like our four years in high school.. What makes life valuable is that it doesnt last forever.
What makes it precious is that it ends." She said, amazingly. I already liked it.

"I know that now more than ever and I say it today of all days to remind us that time is luck. So dont waste it living someone else's life. Make yours count for something. Fight for what matters to you. No matter what. Cause even if we fall short, even if we fail.. what better way is there to live?" She smiled and talked with so much positivity that did not get distracted by anything.

"Its easy to feel hopeful on a beautiful day like today. But there will be dark days ahead and they'll be days when hope is needed most. No matter how buried it gets or how lost you feel, you must promise me that you will hold on to hope. Keep it alive. We have to be greater than what we suffer. My wish for you is to become hope. People need that." She talked, hope surging through my body.

And then she smiled. "So as we look around here today, at all of the people who helped make us
who we are, I know it feels like saying goodbye, but we will carry a piece of each other into everything that we do next, to remind us of who we are and of who we're meant to be. I have had a fabulous four years with you and I will miss you all very much." She finished and I clapped the loudest in the audience. She got her graduation cap and certificate. I was proud of my girl.

I blew a kiss at her and she giggled blowing one to me. Rakhi and Adya got their ones and the boys faces were priceless. They were really proud too. Niall even cried and Rakhi had to console him. Liam kissed Adya by the cheeks as soon as she came running to him. Lakshita couldnt come down though.

I was talking to the boys in the lawn when I saw Lakshita hugging her mom and brother. Siddharth kissed her forehead and she giggled at something she said. Her mom pointed at me and she turned. I smiled at her and she came running into my open arms.

I picked her up and spun, with my lips meeting her soft ones. I slowly put her down, still holding her. "The speech. That was the best I have ever heard." I said and she blushed. "Thanks Z." She said and I pecked her lips. "Now my girl is big. With graduation hats and certificates." I said and she laughed. She removednthe hat off her head and placed it on mine. I kissed her nose and she giggled adorably.

"Thanks for coming Zayn." She thanked and I kissed her one more time until she was taken away from my arms...
