The nurse is surprised, staring at Ed.

"W-what is he doing here!?"

You switch your gaze repeatedly from Ed's scared look to the nurse's exasperated expression.

You open your mouth to whisper. "Please, Miss, understand. He-"

"I'm sorry, (Y/N), but Mr. Elric here has committed an offen-"

Three men burst into your room, the same men from earlier this morning. You press your lips together, and an idea pops into your mind. You put the food tray in your lap to the nightstand.

Think of something sad. You think to yourself. Hurry.

Ed starts arguing with the four hospital people, but you shut everyone and everything out.

In an effort, you think of the doubt growing in your heart about Ed, and you think about Ed himself. You think about all the crazy things that could've happened. You close your eyes and imagine.

You sit in front of the gravestone heavily. The afternoon sun is shining brightly, as if trying to mock your current mood. Carved into the stone are the words "Edward Elric." He had died of unknown reasons.

Tears stream down your face as you sob, mourning the loss of your boyfriend. There are a few wilting flowers in front of the grave, but you don't have the energy to take them away.

Before long, the sun sets in a bright sheet of orange and pink, and it gets chilly outside. You feel yourself push your legs up and mindlessly trudge back to your house.

Inside, there's a dusty baby grand piano sitting in the corner, still awaiting to be touched, to have beautiful fingers grace across its surface and create the entrancing sound of music.

And so you do it a favor and pull out the little bench and sit down. You push open the cover of the piano keys and stare at the array of black and white keys.

Slowly, you raise your hands and place them on the keys.

And you play from the bottom of your heart, an improvisation of a song that held all of your sorrows, your grief. You played of heartbreak and misery. You played of all the trapped up depression and sadness in your heart. You played of all your memories. You played of everything.

With that, you start crying, because finally, you're able to let go of your feelings, to play them out. The black and white keys all become one big blur as more and more tears well up and drop down your face, leaving small teardrops on the keys.

Ed... I miss you so much....

You feel soft fingertips grace your shoulders, and you know Ed's right behind you, with you. You continue playing, letting all of your feelings out and letting him know through the music how much you miss him.

"I'm so sorry, (Y/N)..."

You can't take it anymore. You stop playing and push away from the piano, the bench making a loud scrape against the ground. You run away from the heartbreaking music and enter your room, slamming the door behind you. You collapse on your bed, face down, crying and hiccuping at all the arisen memories of Ed.
