[December 31, 1917]

It's been two more days. It's also New Year's Eve.

So you, Ed, and (S/N) are sitting on the couch, watching the staticky TV and goofing around.

Currently, you're sitting next to Ed, hand in hand, and (S/N) is sulking off to the side, all alone. But like, in a funny way.

You laugh. "Ahaha, are you jealous because you're all alone?"

She doesn't reply.

"Of course she is, (Y/N). We are her role models."

You smile a bit. "Did you like someone? Was it someone in that," you scoff, "dumb society thing?"

She still does not move.

You chuckle a little and sit up straight.

"Hey. (S/N). It's New Years Eve. Cheer up, will ya?"

She jerks at the sound of her name. In the past few days, you haven't used her name, whether out of habit, or that it's so weird for her to have a name, you don't know.

She looks up at you, raising an eyebrow. "All right, all right." She rolls her eyes.

You smile and stand up. "C'mon. I heard there'll be fireworks outside tonight."

Pulling everyone along with you, you descend to the bottom floor of your hotel and step outside. It's cold, and snowing, but the streets are warm with cheer. There are people talking, laughing, huddled together.

You pull Ed and (S/N) into the crowds, where the view wouldn't be blocked so much by the buildings.

"What time is it?" You hear child in the crowd ask. Instinctively, you look at your watch.

11:59 pm.

"Theres one more minute," you tell Ed and (S/N).

And suddenly, the crowd goes silent.

You look up, to see a small spark flying up, signifying the first firework. Before long, a huge flower of light and color explodes in the air.

The crowd lets out an almost simultaneous gasp. You're captivated. It's so beautiful.

It's not long before another, and another firework exploded, sending showers of light and sparks flying across the sky.

You gape shamelessly at the show of light above you, the beautiful array of colors leaving lasting imprints in your mind.

"(Y/N).." a voice whispers in your left ear, causing a shiver to run down your spine. It's none other than Ed.

"Hmm?" You hum, to show that you're listening.

"(Y/N), look at me."

You drag your gaze away from the fireworks, to look into Ed's golden eyes, reflecting the light of the fireworks.

Without a word, Ed grabs your face and kisses you. You let out a surprised squeak, but after the initial surprise, you relax and melt into the kiss.

It's sweet, and passionate. You turn around and wrap your arms around his neck, tugging him closer. Ed responds happily, shifting his arms to your back.

You pull away, happy and breathless. It's so exhilarating to finally be able to kiss someone you like.

You smile at Ed, staring into his bright golden eyes.

And you remember Al.

"Ed....?"

Ed senses your change in mood and pulls away in concern. "What is it?"

"Why did you have to choose me?"

"Choose you? I love you."

Your eyes widen at his confession, and Ed gasps.

"Oh- I mean- uh.. no, I-"

"Yeah, I get that, but why didn't you choose Al?"

Ed stops stuttering. He stares into your (E/C) eyes for a while, before taking a deep breath.

"Because sometimes, you just have to make that sacrifice."

~

Life tends to throw hard decisions at you.

Many of them are unfair, and others have bad choices.

But as you go on, you learn how to choose the right choice, even if it costs you something hard to let go, even if you have to make a sacrifice.

Because sometimes, you just have to make that sacrifice.

HOLY CRAP GUYS I THOUGHT I UPDATED THIS I AM SO SORRY OMG WTFF

Lollll last chapter... i guess? I think I did not plan out how to end this story well and I had rlly bad writers block. Like really extremely bad.

Idk yet but I might do a request thingy for the epilogue chapter, and... yeah! Thats it lol.

It goes basically that whoever requests something will get that requests written into the part (unless it's too weird) and I'll find a way to string all the requests together.

If there are no requests, there won't be an epilogue.

Requests go here.

Anyways, if you liked this chapter, be sure to vote, comment, share, and most importantly, ENJOY!!!
